The darkness of the void did not just surround Seraphina; it pressed down on her with a heavy, absolute weight that felt older than the kingdom itself. When the chaotic spin of the office finally stopped, she found herself floating in an unbroken space of shadow, completely cut off from the physical world. There was no ground under her feet, no cool air on her skin, and no way to tell which way was up. Instead, a tight, suffocating pressure pushed down on her chest and locked her arms and legs like iron chains, making it feel impossible to even take a breath. She tried to kick her legs and move her arms to break free from the invisible traps holding her in the dark, but every movement only made the crushing weight get heavier. The invisible force pressed harder into her muscles, pinning her body flat against the empty air until she was completely frozen, staring into the quiet blackness while her heart beat in a fast, terrified rhythm.
