Chapter 621 - Chapter 620: Unaware of the Oriole Behind

Lei Ying and Yan Jin's judgment was right — the Yao Clan had already collapsed. The Yao Clan had perished, their powerhouses annihilated, and nothing meaningful remained. Yet the Hun Clan had also paid a heavy price and had no intention of letting the Lei and Yan Clans escape. Especially the Void Devouring Flame — it still needed Yan Jin's Heavenly Flame to restore its damaged origin.

The Void Devouring Flame cared little for how many members of the Hun Clan died. It merely used them as tools to achieve its own goal. Even Hun Tiandi was no different — both were beings driven solely by self-interest, ready to sacrifice anyone to fulfill their ambitions.

Yan Jin suffered another devastating blow — he'd lost count of how many times it had been. His body was battered, and his Dou Qi nearly exhausted. His face had gone numb; ever since taking the mantle of Clan Leader, never had anyone forced him into such dire straits. Worse still, this catastrophe had crippled his clan.

A Late 8-Star Dou Saint should not have ended up like this, yet his opponent was the Void Devouring Flame — a terrifying flame born from the depths of the Void, capable of devouring all existence. During battle, the black flame consumed his Dou Qi and even his Heavenly Flame, severing his connection to both. Meanwhile, the Void Devouring Flame grew stronger with every exchange. If not for its injuries and weakened state, Yan Jin would have long been dead.

"Since you won't let me live, then none of you should think of leaving alive… You'll all stay here with me!"

Yan Jin froze when he heard Lei Ying's roar. Turning his head, he saw the Lei Clan Leader's eyes bloodshot, his expression twisted into madness — a man who had become a vengeful demon.

The Lei Clan's elite were nearly wiped out. Lei Ying was now like a beast trapped in a cage, yet the three 8-Star Dou Saints of the Hun Clan — Hun Shengtian, Hun Yao, and Hun Feng — though slightly weaker, were not by much.

So Lei Ying made his final choice — self-destruction.

Hun Shengtian's face changed drastically. A bone-chilling fear surged through his heart. He hadn't lived enough to see the Hun Clan rule the continent; how could he die here — and at the hands of a man already doomed to perish?

"Run!" he screamed.

"Hahaha! Too late! If you all die here, that'll still be a blow to the Hun Clan. My son will avenge me!"

Lei Ying grinned savagely. Lightning erupted wildly from his body. In an instant, he moved faster than thought, almost as if teleporting. He reached the three before they could react.

Boom!

A towering mushroom cloud erupted in the distance, obliterating the horizon. Heaven and earth blurred together as a cataclysmic shockwave rolled across the land, scouring it bare.

Even the Void Devouring Flame was startled by the sheer force.

The sweeping winds tore through the battlefield. Powerhouses from the Hun, Lei, and Yan Clans were flung away like leaves in a storm, fleeing in panic as though death itself chased them.

At the heart of the explosion, Lei Ying, Hun Shengtian, Hun Yao, and Hun Feng were gone — not a trace of life remained.

"Clan Leader!"

"Clan Leader!"

The remaining Lei Clan experts cried out, grief twisting their faces. Their Clan Leader had perished, taking his enemies with him.

The Yan Clan's survivors were equally stricken — if one fell, the others would soon follow.

"Hahaha! So you went before me, old friend. Don't just stand there! Take the path he opened and escape! Live to protect the clan!"

Yan Jin's laughter echoed like thunder — wild, unrestrained, and full of tragic heroism.

"Clan Leader!" one of the Yan Clan elders cried, trembling, sensing something terrible.

"Go! Now!"

Yan Jin's aura surged violently, his Dou Qi spiraling out of control like an explosive about to detonate.

"Yes!"

Though they longed to stay and fight, someone had to survive to protect the clan's legacy. The remaining Lei and Yan Clan experts — each a powerhouse above the Dou Saint level — launched themselves skyward, racing through the gaping black rift torn open by Lei Ying's self-destruction.

That passage was not meant to exist — it was forcibly created by the explosion that shattered the Void Devouring Flame's blockade. Where it led was unknown. But nine deaths out of ten were still better than certain doom.

"Still trying to blow yourself up?"

The Void Devouring Flame sneered. The three Hun Elders might have failed to stop Lei Ying, but he was different — he was the Void Devouring Flame.

"All of you, pursue them! Kill every last one! Leave no survivors!"

He commanded coldly, then unleashed a violent storm of pitch-black flames, forming a massive infernal vortex that swept toward Yan Jin.

"Yes, sir!"

The remaining Hun Clan experts responded instantly, chasing after the fleeing Lei and Yan powerhouses, plunging into the black passage.

Yan Jin clenched his fists. Flames blazed from his knuckles, pulling heaven and earth's energy toward a single point — one punch that could shake the heavens.

But before it could strike, the black flames devoured it entirely — as though a monstrous abyss had swallowed all light. The blow vanished without even a ripple.

"Become one with me," came the eerie voice of the Void Devouring Flame from within the inferno.

Yan Jin's expression changed drastically. His aura exploded, preparing to self-destruct. But in the next instant, the black fire consumed him whole. The flames writhed briefly, then fell eerily still — deep, dark, unfathomable.

A moment later, the Void Devouring Flame reappeared, stretching lazily as if sated. His voice was calm again, even indifferent.

"Elder Zhu, those three old fools in that mushroom cloud aren't quite dead yet. I'll leave them to you…"

The casual words made the Void Devouring Flame stiffen. He turned sharply — and saw Liu Xi striding toward him.

Yet his focus quickly shifted past Liu Xi — toward the distant Zhu Bei, whose presence he still deemed the true threat.

"So even the Ancient Void Dragon Tribe dares to provoke me now? Leave while you can. I might still let your tribe live — otherwise…"

"Void Devouring Flame," Liu Xi interrupted coolly, "I wonder — how much power do you still have left? Become my power instead."

The Void Devouring Flame froze. That voice — and the aura behind it — made his soul tremble. This wasn't some 2-Star Dou Saint… it was a monster. One that could drag even him into the abyss.

Liu Xi's disguise melted away — sharp brows, clear eyes, a handsome face exuding unrestrained confidence and dominance. What unsettled the Void Devouring Flame most was the fiery hunger in Liu Xi's eyes — a gaze that regarded him as prey.

Then Liu Xi's aura erupted — 2-Star, 3-Star, 4-Star… all the way to 8-Star. The overwhelming pressure shook the heavens.

And then — whoosh! — waves of azure fire burst from his body, surging like a tidal sea, stretching across the entire sky.

The Void Devouring Flame's pupils contracted sharply. Now he understood.

"So that's what you are… Fine then! Let me see who gave you the courage to try devouring me!"

Boom! Boom!

Black and azure flames collided, roaring like two enraged dragons tearing at each other — each desperate to swallow the other whole.

This was a battle between Heavenly Flames.

The victor would claim the top of the Heavenly Flame Ranking — and ascend as the Emperor Flame!

Liu Xi had waited far too long for this moment.

Now, the Void Devouring Flame was at its weakest.

And Liu Xi… stood invincible.
