Chapter 619 - Chapter 618: Ancient Jade

A 7-Star Dou Saint detonating both soul and body in one strike unleashed power so devastating that even an ordinary 8-Star Dou Saint would retreat in fear.

Those Hun Clan experts who had been battling the Yao Clan at close range were all engulfed by that blast. Yao Dan's final, desperate self-detonation struck a massive blow against the Hun Clan, leaving even the Void Devouring Flame and the three remaining elders too entangled to prevent the devastation.

Lei and Yan Clans, including Lei Ying and Yan Jin, felt a fleeting pang of sorrow, like watching a kindred spirit perish. But that sentiment vanished in an instant, replaced by grim focus. If they faltered now, the Yao Clan's fate would soon be their own.

Winds carrying violent Dou Qi waves swept across the world like purgatorial dragons. The place where Liu Xi and his companions stood was also enveloped in the chaos.

Elder Shen Nong cloaked himself in Dou Qi for protection, but the storm of destruction was stopped just three meters away—by an invisible barrier.

Zhu Bei had acted. With a casual twist of space, he sealed off the outside chaos entirely. Even if Yao Dan had self-detonated directly before him, Zhu Bei could have easily banished the blast into another dimension.

Despite having steeled himself for this, a hint of pity still flickered in Zhu Bei's eyes. The Yao Clan, after all, was one of the ancient lineages that had survived through the ages. To see such a clan erased so completely struck him with melancholy.

He silently resolved: he must rescue the Old Dragon Emperor at all costs. Without such a being's protection, even he, Zhu Bei, would be in grave danger if forced to face the Void Devouring Flame alone.

Perhaps—if he and his two dragon brothers combined their strength—they could suppress that monster. The power the Hun Clan had revealed today was already greater than that of the Ancient Void Dragon Tribe itself.

That realization filled Zhu Bei with dread.

Once, the Ancient Void Dragon Tribe had been so mighty that even the Hun and Gu Clans bowed their heads. Now, they stood on the brink of decline—and it was, in part, their own doing.

Liu Xi suppressed the urge to collect the Yao Clan's remains. He had no personal ties to them, yet witnessing this tragedy stirred faint sorrow in his heart.

So many innocents had died.

Though Liu Xi prided himself on his coldness, he was not heartless. The Yao Clan was gone, and the Lei and Yan Clans were locked in desperate combat with the Hun Clan. Their fate would likely not differ.

"Let's go," Liu Xi said quietly.

"Go where?" Zhu Bei turned, his tone puzzled.

"There's nothing left in the Yao Clan worth our concern," Liu Xi replied calmly. "Of course, we're going after the Ancient Jade. Plans change—but holding one piece of Ancient Jade means holding a great deal more leverage."

He spoke lightly, though the thought of finding the Ancient Jade was more complex than he let on. Liu Xi had no means of locating it himself—the task would fall to Zhu Bei, whose dragon lineage excelled in treasure-seeking.

And indeed, at the mention of the Ancient Jade, Zhu Bei's eyes lit up. He nodded readily. Anything that could aid in saving the Old Dragon Emperor was worth doing.

Elder Shen Nong, however, was filled with confusion. He didn't understand what "Ancient Jade" they spoke of—and what unsettled him more was Liu Xi himself.

A mere 2-Star Dou Saint speaking to Zhu Bei—an 8-Star Dou Saint powerhouse—as though they were equals?

And Zhu Bei, rather than being offended, actually treated Liu Xi as his peer.

It made no sense.

"Elder Shen Nong," Liu Xi said with that calm, measured tone that made the old man's heart pound faster, "come with us. Staying here would be… very dangerous."

That faint smile on Liu Xi's cold face sent a chill crawling down Shen Nong's spine.

"O-of course! Of course!" he stammered hastily.

Fear gripped his heart. What kind of existence could make a 6-Star Dou Saint like him feel such helplessness—such absolute dread?

Liu Xi and Zhu Bei moved at once. Their figures blurred and vanished, leaving behind only twisted space where they'd stood.

Shen Nong took one last look at the distant, cataclysmic battlefield and gave a bitter smile. No matter what Liu Xi truly was, he had already stepped aboard a pirate's ship—and to leave it now would mean drowning beneath its waves.

Gripping his staff, the elder stepped into the warped space and disappeared.

Zhu Bei's treasure-sensing ability, inherent to the Ancient Void Dragon Tribe, allowed him to quickly locate the Yao Clan's hidden vaults scattered throughout the Spatial Realm.

And with his mastery over spatial laws, even those vaults imbued with self-destruction arrays were easily unsealed.

One after another, their treasures opened themselves to Liu Xi's gaze.

It reminded him of old times—of when he and Zi Yan had "borrowed" nearly every treasure across the Black-Corner Region!

No Ancient Jade appeared yet, but the wealth inside was staggering.

There were countless Dou Techniques, Qi Methods, rare herbs, and high-grade pills—but most precious of all was the Yao Clan's alchemical inheritance.

The complete refining methods for 9th Tier Treasure Pills, Mysterious Pills, and even Golden Pills—along with numerous unique pill recipes—all preserved flawlessly. Truly worthy of a clan founded by Emperor Yao himself.

Finally, in the deepest chamber—hidden beneath the Yao Clan's ancestral hall—they found it.

Wisps of faint smoke drifted through the air. The memorial tablets of Emperor Yao and generations of Yao ancestors stood row upon row, stretching beyond count.

Liu Xi couldn't help but mutter under his breath, "The Yao Clan really was… populous."

It was likely that Emperor Yao's remnant soul had once dwelled among these tablets. But now the hall stood silent—no trace of a soul's presence remained.

Zhu Bei easily shattered the final restriction and opened a spatial gateway shimmering with dense spatial energy.

They stepped inside. The secret chamber beyond was simple but elegant, its white walls lit by soft pearls embedded within.

Only two jade boxes rested in the room's center.

Liu Xi extended his Spiritual Power, scanning for danger. Finding none, he stepped forward and opened them carefully—one after another.

The first box contained a smooth, luminous piece of jade—the Ancient Jade itself.

A faint smile crossed Liu Xi's face. He picked it up, turning it in his hand before passing it to Zhu Bei to inspect.

The second box held a sphere of light—pure and ethereal. Liu Xi frowned slightly and extended his spiritual sense to touch it.

For an ordinary soul, such contact might be perilous—but Liu Xi's Emperor Realm Soul, bolstered by the Bodhisattva Ancient Tree, had nothing to fear.

Moments later, he opened his eyes—now burning with excitement. He carefully sealed the light sphere back within its jade box and stored it in his ring.

Within that sphere lay a restriction meant to hide its contents, but Liu Xi had forced it open—and what he discovered was priceless: the complete refining method for a 10th Tier Pill.

The true treasure of the Yao Clan.

When the Hun Clan destroyed the Yao Clan, they sought not only its bloodline and Ancient Jade—but also this.

A treasure beyond all value.

'The Yao Clan's inheritance is mine now,' Liu Xi thought quietly. 'Their hatred—I'll carry it. For Yao Tian and Yao Ling… I'll see justice done.'
