Harry and I, alongside an unconscious Sirius, stepped out into the blazing red sands of the valley with an equal level of trepidation. There was a feeling to the place, something not quite eerie but certainly unsettling.Â
Looking around I could see hundreds of massive statues and obelisks. Carvings were etched along their exterior in bold slashes and domineering stabs. The text itself was faded, dusted over and obscured by distance and the weather, but the structures themselves felt powerful.Â
Our steps themselves crunched in an odd way. The typical movement of sand mixed with the dull thuds of our footwear on millennia-old metal stairwells or grates. Perhaps these lead to pathways or tombs that were built below, now buried in the hateful sands of the world itself, long abandoned by anybody who could have benefited from them.Â
The space ship we had seen had landed near the old Sith Academy, a design of ship that I hadn't seen in Luke's version of this universe. It was obscured from us currently, the old academy was tens of kilometres away it seems. Shaking my head I returned to observing our surroundings, watching the discordantly bloody tides of what I presumed to be magic swirling and ebbing around us. Every now and then tendrils would reach out towards Harry or myself but rescinded as if burned after a mere second or two.
"You talked about a Sith back there... What are they? And why do you know about them?" Harry's voice broke my inspection and introspection unanimously, my eyes drifting to his before I looked forwards again, hitting a button on my watch once more to see if Apollo could find any signal now that we were outside.
"I know about this universe because of another member of the chatroom. His name is Luke Skywalker and he is the Grandmaster of the Jedi in his version of this universe. The Jedi and Sith are rivals, I suppose you could say... Much like Dark Wizards and Light Wizards in your world." He hummed as I lectured him, his piercing green irises glancing towards his God Father every now and then.
I continued speaking despite his split attention. "The Jedi focus on balance and morality. Sith, from what I understand of them, are generally selfish, tyrannical, greedy and corrupted by the negative side of what they call the force."
"Magic!" Harry exclaimed in frustration.
I grunted and smiled towards him, understanding that there could be some mix ups. "Possibly. I don't know too much about the force other than what I learnt from Luke and the information that is present in my universe through games and stories. It could be magic, it could be its own thing, all I know is that it is a metaphysical force that can influence its users into doing good and bad." I scanned a nearby tomb entrance, finding that it was perfectly intact and oozing with that red magic or force energy that has been around us for a while now.
"That doesn't sound good. Is it anything like the Imperius curse? If you know what that is..." His voice murmured out as he cringed. He was finally processing the situation he was in and that I was a complete stranger from a different universe.
"I don't think so... It's probably more like a suggestion or a constant voice in someone's mind, egging them on, calling for them to do evil acts... Or in the case of the Jedi, to intervene when something horrible or negative is going to occur." The teen sighed before turning quiet once more. I couldn't blame him, this was an awful amount of information to process and digest in such a short amount of time.
Many minutes passed as we traversed through the maze of sith tombs and statues. The monuments themselves were unique yet plain, brutal but softened by time, the very nature of the magic or force around us was ever changing... Sometimes it would fade between reds and oranges, other times it would turn bright blue and green. There was no warning or indication as to why it operated this way, it just did, and that was slightly jarring to me.
I had already attempted to scan the magic with my powers, a gentle scan with my molecular senses, a subtle touch with my hands to try and receive a memory or feeling from the flowing tides around us... Yet there was nothing. It was as if the magic or force didn't exist for my powers to touch. My unease must have conveyed itself to the young man beside me as he nervously looked around us, his wand tightly gripped in his right hand and Sirius being dragged over his left shoulder.
"Do you know what planet we're on?" I nodded and straightened my features out, this wasn't the time to worry the kid.
"Korriban or Moraband, the home of the Sith Empire. The training ground for the Sith during the Old Republic era. It houses the tombs and archives of thousands of sith, including some of the most powerful and influential in existence." Harry grimaced, stepping a little closer to me as we walked past another Sith tomb.
"So, the birthplace of evil then... Just typical... Only I could jump through a doorway that looks spooky to save Sirius and then end up in some version of hell...!" I chuckled at his self-deprecating rant. The teen was clearly over the situation he was in.Â
"All well, it happens. We just have to find a way off planet, then I can get you and Sirius to a safe world where you can just chill for a while and take stock of what's happened and what you guys want to do." Harry exhaled, loudly, before nodding his head. His glasses were slightly scratched and damaged from the tiny particles of sand that whipped through the area like a rattan cane. Something that I fixed straight away, with a wave of my hand.
"Well, while we're here, should we take some of their knowledge or goodies? I mean, I know they're not the best sort, but they could have stuff that is worth something or could help us understand the galaxy we're in better..." The question made me stop for a moment, some sort of feeling permeating my gut. Something felt, correct, about doing what he suggested. There was something that my newly found magic, or force powers, whichever, was attempting to communicate.
"Drecarios?" I didn't respond, finding myself fixating on a tomb to our right.
I took a step towards it when I felt a hand on my shoulder.
"Oi, snap out of it!" I blinked a few times and shook my head. The feeling from earlier wasn't disappearing but felt more, neutral. Whatever it was, it was nudging me towards the tomb and telling me that there was potential for something important to happen in that tomb.
'Maybe I need to make my legendary pull inside the tomb and use the super soldier serum?' My thoughts swirled chaotically as Harry bumped my shoulder, his eyes showing concern and a little weariness.
"I'm fine kid... I'm just getting a feeling that we should head into the tomb." Harry immediately frowned and leaned forwards, around me, to look at said tomb's entrance.
"Why would we need to go down there?" I shrugged in frustration at his question, the urge tugging on me still.Â
"There could be something we need, or perhaps we need to do something..." The boy glanced upwards at me and simply stared at me, his disbelief being transmitted to me clearly through the cocking of his right eyebrow and his scrunched face.
"Riiiiight... Sure... Go into the murder cave to do something that we don't know we need to do, to have something happen, which we don't know what that 'something' is... All on a gut feeling..." My left eye twitched at his sarcastic rebuttal, his tone clearly deriding.Â
"What do you want me to say? I feel that we need to go into that tomb kid." Harry simply huffed, switching Sirius over to his other shoulder before exhaling in annoyance.
"Fine! Let's go into the murder cave and do this, whatever it is. I'm sure we won't run into a basilisk or something, certainly." Rolling my eyes at his nihilism I walked over to the tomb entrance and looked inside.
Surprisingly the interior was clean, perfectly so. There was an iron grate that covered the walls and slightly glimmered onyx and silver. Plated floors were barely scuffed and pock-marked, the faint soot lines of blaster fire being the only evidence of activity in the space. This continued down a long hallway that ended around one hundred metres ahead, where the path descended into what I would presume to be stairs.
Harry pushed past and simply entered into the hallway, ignoring the details surrounding him as he dropped Sirius against a wall. I entered as he adjusted him upright, the man's breathing smooth and steady. Within ten minutes he'd probably be conscious again.
"So kid, why did you suggest that we get some goodies then immediately call my urge stupid?" The young teen looked over at me before shrugging in response.
"Because I've had those same feelings. Every time I get them I end up doing something really, REALLY, crazy and death defying... Like slaying a basilisk, or running into the department of mysteries to save my godfather..." He sounded sombre towards the end, his eyes glued to the gaunt figure below him.
"It was my fault that we are here, that he almost died... Voldemort lured me there using his connection to me. Now we are stranded on another planet. My luck fucking sucks..." Harry continued speaking until he quietened down, probably turning introspective. It must have been something about this blasted planet that made people examine themselves.
Sighing, I pulled on the energy source inside my watch and created bacon and egg sandwiches, freshly cooked. I passed him a plateful and created an extra for me and Sirius. I sat down next to Sirius and pet the spot next to me, gesturing for him to sit next to me, which he did.
"You can't blame yourself for everything Harry." The kid gave a descent impression of a 'Snape-sneer' before harshly grabbing his first sandwich and taking a bite out of it. "No, really, you shouldn't. Voldemort, from my understanding, is very powerful and has decades of experience on you. You've been in school for 4-5 years max, he's had an entire lifetime to learn spells and gain experience in combat and esoteric arts." I continued as he passively listened to me.
"Through each event that would have killed you, you have grown and beaten them. You are too harsh on yourself, probably a side effect of your upbringing, but still..." He stiffened at my last comment, slowly meeting my gaze before looking away in despair; still slightly munching on the food I had created.
Both of us sat in silence for a while, eating our food as Sirius slowly recovered from his ordeal. Neither of us spoke as we ate, simply letting time pass and our thoughts flow. This continued up until the point that we both finished and a lethargic groan whispered out of Sirius's mouth.
"uuuughhhh... Where's the Hippogryph that ran me over...?" The man's voice croaked slightly as he blinked away the comforting embrace of sleep.
"SIRIUS!" Harry rushed over to his godfather as I slid up the wall to my feet.
"Pup? Didn't I fall through the veil...? Wait..." Sirius slapped his cheek once and quickly sat forwards, his right hand whipping about without anything happening. He began panicking when nothing happened until Harry thrust the man's wand into his hands.
"Here Padfoot, thought you'd want this. And, yes, you did fall through the veil." The man smiled happily at his godson before he realised what he had just told him and paled.
"D-does that mean we're dead...?" I couldn't help but snicker at his panicked query. The man's face looked like he'd just taken a dump.
"No Padfoot, we're not dead. You see, I kind of, maybe, jumped after you into the veil." The onyx haired man started shaking a little as sheer amazement and confusion passed through his expression. "And now we're on another planet, potentially in another galaxy, and I'm a part of a... group? Of sorts... They kinda talk to one another from different universes using a magical interface, or something."
I chuckled deeply as the man stilled down to his marrow. He was staring at his godson in non-comprehension, his eyes wide and his lips moving up and down as he tried to process everything.Â
"Okay, I think we need to get up. If we stay in one place too long we could attract wild life." Harry looked at me in frustration before letting out a sigh a moment later, nodding in acquiescence as he helped Padfoot to his feet.
"Who's he?" Sirius managed to squeak out the question as he bent his knees and swung upwards.
"This is Drecarios. He's a member of that group that rushed over from his universe to save you." I huffed at the thankful tone the kid used before refocussing on the hallway. The urge hadn't ceased through all of this... It was just a constant buzz under my skin. We needed the rest though.
"Don't worry about it. If I was transferred to another universe I'd want someone to help as well." I said casually as I began walking down the hallway, observing the plated flooring for traps or mechanisms.
"Either way, I'd like to thank you for saving me." Smiling at Sirius's sincere thanks, I waved him off again.
The wizard duo followed after me, speaking to one another quite softly as I ran my hand across the wall to my right. The atoms weren't special and there weren't open spaces beyond. It was a simple funnel-like hallway that lead to descending metal stairs.
Reaching the zenith of the stairway, several crimson crystals hummed to life on the walls. Their light bathed the once shadow covered steps in ominous red light that barely managed to reach the centre of the pathway downwards.
"That's not ominous at all..." Sirius commented snarkily behind me as I held back a chuckle in response.
"Padfoot, Harry, make sure that you stay behind me and stick together. As you said Harry, this could be bad, or it could be positive... Either way, it feels like we need to do this." Both of the wizards looked to one another before reluctantly agreeing to my command.
I took a step down and then another, the light coiling around my legs in an oddly sporadic way. Shaking away the superfluous information that drifted into my head I simply continued downwards.Â
There was little change in scenery or detail for hundreds of steps until the staircase suddenly stopped and opened out into an expansive spherical chamber that had a bright green flame blaring at the opposite end. In the middle of the room was a tomb with two thirty foot statues presiding over it, like marble sentinels that were eternally forced to look down on and over the resting place of whoever this was.
"We're not in Kansas anymore, Harry..." I guffawed at the scraggly man's quote as Harry awkwardly half-giggled, half-chuckled.Â
Unfortunately the cordial atmosphere all but dissolved a moment later as a dark current of ,what I presumed to be, the force began seeping from the tomb and flowing down the raised dais that it was sat upon. I tensed and immediately spread my control of matter throughout the room, not choosing to abuse my perception of time just yet.Â
The mass of force energy billowed out and sloshed around like a physical ball of water before it froze and began towering upwards. It moved upwards until it had reached six feet in height and simply became immobilised once more.
Gulping, I tried to reach out for the mass using my power of matter. It failed to find anything of substance in the space, more than that, the space was devoid of all matter and seemed more akin to the vacuum of space.Â
This six-foot mass of energy then started to colour, turning from black and crimson into a smattering of lighter colours. Greys, golds, irons, purples, they all moulded together until they suddenly snapped into clarity. Standing before us was a woman that looked more akin to an Elf from Lord of the Rings than in a Star Wars story, and yet she had glowing orange-red eyes that seemed to pierce into your soul. She had combat robes draped over her, dark purples and golds that were stylishly balanced with black. A combat suit sat below the robe and poked out here and there, the frame bulky but also sleek-looking. At her waist were two lightsabers with ash-wood hilts and a distinct lusciousness to their design.
"Some have finally come to see the sith code as flawed... A joyous occasion..." Her voice softly caressed the room's dimensions, her tone completely opposing the sith we had first spoken to upon landing here.
The woman started softly pacing, taking a softened and deliberate stature. She had blonde-crimson hair, fashioned in a bob-cut style that hung just above her shoulders and exposed her pointed ears and pale complexion.
"I remember when the others rejected my teachings, scorned them for their supposed heresy..." She hummed after speaking the word 'heresy', her gaze turning distant for a period of time before she narrowed her gaze back down onto us. "They were fools back then and the modern 'Sith' are no better. Deluded by the teachings of Bane, taught that power is superior to all other aspects of the force... They're pitiful."
Harry, Sirius and I stayed close to one another as the figure continued speaking. My gut was practically singing in time with the woman's words, as if It were imperative I let her continue speaking without interruption.
"No, a true Sith, as envisioned by Ajunta Pall himself, follows these tenets." She rasped out the name of the Oldest known Sith with intense willpower.
"Peace is a lie, there is only truth!Through truth, I understand my passion...Through understanding, I gain clarity!Through clarity, I gain power...Through power, I shape my chains!Through will, I choose to break them...!"
The room shook as each line completed, the metal grooves that hung above grinding against one another as the entire sphere shifted. Not a single speck of dust was sprinkled or emerged through this movement, only the subtle grinding of gears in places unknown.
"That, is what I shall teach you. I will not teach you to be a slave to the force or your emotions like the useless chattel that call themselves SITH... I teach freedom. From chains. From fate. From destiny. I teach you to stand upon your own feet and walk down your own foreseen path... Not the one that the force should have you tread."
As her spiel finished the roof ripped apart into various arms of metal that all moved in tandem. At first I back into Sirius and prepared to turn the entire roof into dirt, until several glowing red objects began passing back and forth between the mechanical hands above... Holocrons, sith artefacts, that's what they were and they glowed with a strength that was visible... Each one was a tsunami of red, orange, blue and green.
"Acolytes, for that is what you are since you have stepped into this archive and tomb, you shall now learn. Understanding and thus knowledge is the only path to knowing ones' self. Through the clarity of emotion and thought you gain power. Sit, or be smote. Meditate on the Holocrons you must... For one cannot break their shackles before they understand themselves, before they have gained power, before they have shaped their chains..."
That urge inside my stomach practically sank into the depths of my body, pulling me down to the ground. With a grunt I fell onto my ass, the urge now sparking all the way through my body as my brain started drumming a tune in time with the pulsations of the green flame beyond the figure.
"From Darth Apocrypha, you shall learn. From my teachings shall you ascend. Then, shall you know true control, true power, true understanding... Truth itself. Then shall you rise and become Darths yourselves." Her voice stayed completely passive through the entirety of her speech, her mannerisms not even giving the suggestion that she had noticed our physical existence. "SIT! "
With a final roar Harry and Sirius were forced down onto their asses, their faces paling as something interacted with them. Perhaps they were experiencing what I was? I didn't know and it didn't matter, for all I could comprehend was the intense burning inside my limbs as ten Sith Holocrons hovered before me, their knowledge playing inside my mind... Interacting with it.
Super Soldier Serum has been forcefully dispensed into Drecarios Frost in order to counteract physical toll of being bathed in Midiclorians exceeding safe levels
I gasped at the message before another flitted by.
Safety Feature Function of the ADMIN position is activating. Saving {SIRIUS BLACK} by inviting him to the chatroom...
Invite is successful
Legendary Reward is forcefully being rolled due to external influence...
External influence has been purged. Roll, continuing...
My mind began drawing in all the knowledge of the Holocrons, scribing them deep inside my mental library. The design of Holocrons themselves, the design of the statues and the robotics above me... The very history of the Holocrons and where they had been, through my Psychometry, was enough to destroy the mind of anyone who didn't have immunity to brain damage.
LEGENDARY REWARD HAS BEEN ROLLED!
Rewards can be dispensed at any time
REWARD: The Book of Shadows
"Harry, I think you were right..."
A grunt signalled somewhere behind me as another ten Holocrons descended and took the place of the last ten. Then the pain started amplifying to excruciating levels, the effects of the super soldier serum bubbling throughout my body at the same time I was being bombarded by the force and my newly gained magic was trying to heal me.
"Fu-Fuck...Fff-"
