After breakfast, I went to my office, and Miu followed me. While I used my computer to write, Miu lay on the bed, scrolling through her phone.
Time passed, and I finally finished Volume 10 of "The Apothecary Diaries".
I stretched my body and looked behind me. Miu was asleep.
Then I picked up my phone and noticed that I had received a message from Aoi Hoshino.
[Hey, hey, it was amazing! I watched the music video with everyone at the company, and it was truly incredible! It's so much better than I expected. You should've come!]
[The company said the music video would be released later today. I told them to promote it heavily, but they said it wouldn't be necessary. They said it'd go live at 2:00 PM!]
I looked at the time on my phone. It was already almost 3:00 PM.
The music video had already been released.
Lunch had also come and gone, and I hadn't eaten anything.
Did Miu eat something?
I stood up and walked over to her. Then I called her name and gently shook her. Miu slowly opened her eyes.
"Kyo? What happened?"
"Did you have lunch?"
"Yeah, I did. Your mom said to heat up the food and eat."
"I see. I got too absorbed."
"Hmm..." Miu sat up. "You're amazing. When you're focused, nothing distracts you. You type so fast too. I've never seen anyone type that quickly."
"Well, I've been typing ever since I was very young." I smiled at Miu.
"Did you finish what you were writing?"
"Yeah. I already finished Volume 10 of *The Apothecary Diaries*. I'll start Volume 11 later today."
"You should get some rest."
"I prefer writing during the afternoon. I'll rest tonight."
"I see..."
"Ah, do you want to watch Aoi's music video with me?"
"Music video?"
"Yeah, the music video for the song I composed. She said it had already been released."
I walked over to my computer and opened Aoi Hoshino's YouTube channel. Just as I expected, *Idol* was featured prominently on the channel's homepage.
It had been uploaded less than an hour ago and already had over three million views.
Miu walked up behind me and said, "Wow, it already has so many views."
She sounded impressed.
I clicked on the video, and the music began to play.
The first things that appeared were my name and Aoi Hoshino's. I didn't expect my name to be given such a prominent spot.
'Well, it's not in the title—just in the video description.'
As soon as the animated music video began and the song started playing through the speakers, Miu exclaimed,
"Ah! That's the song you sang and uploaded to YouTube!"
"I wasn't the one who uploaded it."
"Whatever. I didn't know it was this song."
Is she an idiot?
"It was all over the news that I composed this song for Aoi Hoshino."
"Well, since the video of you singing it had leaked, I thought you were going to compose a different song for her."
Well, whatever.
The music video was very similar to the original one uploaded on YOASOBI's official channel—not the anime opening. The biggest changes were the characters' appearances.
Ai's design had been altered to resemble Aoi, while the twins remained but were redesigned to look more like her.
Besides that, there were far more sakuga scenes—or rather, scenes with exceptionally high-quality animation. The production quality of this music video was definitely on another level.
"The editing is fantastic," I muttered.
Miu watched and listened with sparkling eyes, without saying a single word.
As soon as the video ended, she turned to me and said,
"Kyo, that was incredible! You're incredible! Oh my God, her voice is so good, but I honestly liked your version better. You should make a new music video and upload it to a channel or something!"
"No way. That song belongs to Aoi Hoshino now. But I do plan on composing other songs and singing them myself."
"And you said you worked on the music video, right? I know you're really good at drawing, but I didn't know you knew how to animate."
"If your artwork is good and consistent, animating becomes a bit easier. But I only worked on a few cuts and some storyboards."
"Ugh, I don't understand any of that, but it sounds interesting."
"I can teach you a little about it later."
"I'd love to learn!" Miu said with a big smile.
Why does she seem so different?
'She's so happy and energetic. It doesn't even feel like what happened yesterday actually happened.'

I left Miu in my office and asked my mom to talk to my school's principal about what had happened. I asked her to tell the principal that Miu would be returning to school starting tomorrow.
After that, I asked my mom to come with me to Miu's house so we could pick up her school bag and some clothes for her to stay at our house for a few days.
My mom said she'd take the opportunity to talk to Miu's mother about what had happened.
Then I went upstairs and told Miu about it.
The first thing she said was,
"I'm coming with you!"
But I told her I wouldn't allow it. If she saw her mother right now, they'd probably end up arguing again, and I didn't want that to happen.
Miu understood, and I left the mansion with my mom in an Uber.
Since my dad's car wasn't there, my mom couldn't use it.
As soon as we arrived at Miu's house, I walked up to the front door and knocked several times.
A little while later, the door opened.
The moment Miu's mother saw me, her expression changed. But as soon as she noticed my mom approaching, her expression softened.
"Where's Miu?"
That was the first thing she asked.
"Miu's at my house. Don't worry, she's okay."
"I see. I'm glad to hear that. You must be Kyo's mother. We spoke on the phone."
"Yes. May we come in?"
"Why?"
"We'd like to pick up Miu's school bag and some clothes. I'd also like to talk a little about what happened."
My mom got straight to the point.
Miu's mother let out a sigh and, without arguing, said,
"All right. Come in."
