Chapter 5 - His reason.

"Do you understand what the teacher say today?"

Ah Fei asked while looking straight at Lulu's face. His eyes were filled with sympathy. Because what the teacher had taught him just now was completely gone from his brain. Lulu nodded.

Hearing those words, Ah Fei quickly pulled Lulu's head and pressed his forehead to Lulu's. Slowly, his hands moved something from Lulu's head to his head.

"What are you doing?"

Lulu asked in puzzled.

"Shhhh...I'm taking the knowledge from your head into mine."

Lulu burst out laughing after hearing his friend crazy ideas.

"Hahaha...why don't you just do this to the teacher. It's easier that way."

Lulu suggested while pulling his head away from Ah Fei's forehead.

"No way. I'm afraid of exceeding my capacity."

Ah Fei replied, trying to pull Lulu's head back.

"I don't want to. You'll take all my knowledge."

Lulu ran around the garden laughing happily. They chased each other and laughed happily enjoying their teenage era.

"Wow...senior Zhang is indeed handsome."

"Kyaaa!!! Senior Zhang!!!!"

Their steps stopped. They looked at each other. "Do you know who senior Zhang is?" Ah Fei shook his head.

"Kyaaa!!! senior Zhang!!! Please look at me!!!!"

"Senior Zhang!!!!"

There was a sound of hysteria that was getting out of control from a distance. Lulu quickly turned around. How handsome were the seniors the female students at his school meant compared to his Mu Zhe. The same goes for Ah Fei. He also wanted to know who the owner of that handsome face was who caused the hysteria.

"It's just normal." Lulu said to himself. "Compared to..." His gaze shifted slightly from senior Zhang. Lulu quickly turned around. Trying to hide a smile on his lips neatly. His appearance had to be maintained as best as possible so that his dream could be achieved.

"Oh.." Ah Fei shifted his gaze when his eyes caught the face of the senior who had saved him yesterday.

The feeling of embarrassing began to enter his soul. The memory of when he was carried like a princess to the infirmary yesterday was still fresh in his mind.

Mu Zhe walked while laughing with Jiang Hai and Zhang Yiran. His steps were neat and orderly. His laughter was gentle. His face was cheerful. It was enough to blind Lulu's eyes from looking at others.

Mu Zhe and his two friends were getting closer. Lulu was taking a deep breath that was starting to feel heavy. He bit his thumb to control his nervousness.

"Are you okay?"

Senior Zhang asked to Ah Fei. Shyly, Ah Fei turned around to face his life saver, nodded quickly while carving a sweet smile.

"Thank you for helping me yesterday, senior."

He said softly while bowing respectfully.

"That's was my responsibility. You don't need to thank me. The important thing is that you're okay. Err.. which club have you made up your mind to join? If you haven't, why don't you join our club like your friend?"

He said.

"Ha!?"

Ah Fei quickly looked at Lulu's face. Without blinking, his eyes observed Lulu's poker face.

"Why didn't you tell me that you're joined the club...?"

Ah Fei's voice was between whispering and not. Mu Zhe, Zhang Yiran and Jiang Hai looked at each other.

"If you want to join...just sign up..."

Lulu replied. Also whispering. Ah Fei grinned as he nodded to Zhang Yiran.

"But...that ball made my nose bleed...."

He whispered again. How could he possibly forget that embarrassing bloody history.

"That was an accident..."

Lulu replied. Still whispering.

"Okay...I'll join the basketball club. Because...this kid...has signed up...when I...had to be taken to the infirmary...I don't have a choice, right...?"

Ah Fei said as he punched Lulu's shoulder roughly. Releasing the anger that was building up in his heart.

However, he had to accept the fact that without Lulu he felt unsafe. So whether he wanted to or not, he had to eat his own words and join the basketball club that he had sworn not to be involved with.

"Good. I'm Zhang Yiran. Captain of the basketball club."

Zhang Yiran introduced himself.

"This is Mu Zhe, vice captain of the basketball club."

He continued while tightly grabbing Mu Zhe's shoulder. Zhang Yiran pulled Jiang Hai close to him.

"And this is Jiang Hai. Our club secretary. If there's anything you needs, you can come to us."

He said. Ah Fei who was still reluctant nod quickly along with Lulu who focused his eyes only on Mu Zhe.

"Okay. We'll go first. See you later in the club room."

Zhang Yiran said.

"Okay. Bye."

Ah Fei replied.

Behind the hair that covered his eyes, Lulu's eyes never failed to highlight his Mu Zhe.

"Do you know how to play basketball?"

Ah Fei asked as soon as their senior gone. Lulu shook his head.

"Ha!?"

Ah Fei's eyes widened as he stared at Lulu's face. Between believing and not.

"Then why did you join the basketball club?"

Ah Fei asked furiously.

"I have my own reasons. I never forced you to join with me."

Lulu answered in monotones. Ah Fei was stunned for a moment.

"Oh...you really didn't force me. But.... I....."

Ah Fei was at a loss for words. Admitting the undeniable truth.

Ah Fei's words made Lulu start to feel guilty. He began to realize that in pursuing his dreams, he couldn't be too selfish. Not to mention to Ah Fei. The only friend he had at school.

"Don't worry. Let's we try first. If it's not okay, we'll leave. I'll join whichever club you want to join. Okay?"

Lulu persuaded. Even though it was impossible for him to leave Mu Zhe. But he couldn't bear to see the gloomy face of his only friend.

Ah Fei nodded. Still in his trance.

"Back in junior high school, what club did you join?"

Lulu asked, trying to get the conversation going.

"Reading."

"No. I mean the sports club."

Ah Fei shook his head. His head just lowered his gaze as his shoes brushed against the grass that growing in the cracks on the floor.

"Oh..."

Lulu nodded slowly. He began to realize that dragging Ah Fei to join the basketball club with him might have been a mistake. Lulu gently patted Ah Fei on the shoulder.

Everyone has their own reasons. Just like him, who had no knowledge of basketball, joined the club just because of a teenage boy named Liu Mu Zhe.
