Chapter 9 - Field trip outside the Royal Palace

Our protagonists wake up and, like the previous day, observe Kael during his free time. No significant events occur, and the two boys remain silent, enjoying each other's presence.

I'm now looking at the hologram, even though my attention is not fully focused on it.

"What a bore... I like to see that garden, but I wish I could look at something else besides that!" I reflect, snorting for the umpteenth time that morning.

I hear confabulating behind me, so I turn around and notice Kael and Kaellen talking to each other. I look at them with an intrigued expression. Slowly, I approach them, trying not to make myself heard, but it does not work. It is as if they feel my presence; they stop talking and turn to me.

They stare at me with a smile and come up to me. I see a strange twinkle in their eyes and, before long, I realize that they are having fun. I puff in dismay and cross my arms, annoyed. I stop and wait for them to reach me. When they do, I get a kiss on each cheek: one on the left side and one on the right side. I blush like a tomato and look at them in amazement.

<> I ask hesitantly, stuttering a little with embarrassment. They chuckle, amused by my behavior, and then Kael starts talking.

I let myself go with a smile, thrilled by this wonderful news. I notice that they look at me with tenderness and, after looking at each other, nod with approval.

<> Kaellen informs me. I nod affirmatively and he disappears.

We look at his actions and we see that he goes into the dining room. Like last time, I sit on his legs and he immediately hugs me. I giggle, softened by his affection. He puts his chin on my shoulder: we are ready to watch.

He enters the hall, and the two rulers are already seated, waiting for their son to arrive.

<> he exclaims. I see the two women turn around and smile with happiness.

<> asks the reddish woman, Chrystelle.

<> he explains to his mothers, pointing to his eyes. They nod and smile proudly.

<> says Orthensya with a veil of fun in her tone of voice.

<> I ask curiously.

<> he replies. <> he then explains. I open my mouth in amazement at his explanation.

<> I reply with gratitude. He caresses my belly, arousing a strange feeling in my lower abdomen. It is an emotion comparable to that felt when I fall from a considerable height: electrifying and at the same time frightening. These are not butterflies in the stomach, but something more intense...

I take a flickering breath, biting my lower lip.

<> he exclaims, amused.

<> I ask, looking at him, confused because I don't understand what he means. He beckons me to look down, and after he does, I open and close my mouth without making any sound. I'm so embarrassed that I even hear my ears go up in flames. I cross my legs, trying to cover my half erection as much as possible. I hear Kael chuckling.

<> he says, amused.

"Sorry if I've never felt this feeling!" I think impatiently, because I know that if I speak, I would scream hysterically. I know you can feel the same.

<> he exclaims with some embarrassment. <> he then asks me with a hint of malice in the tone of his voice.

<> I reply, with the redness extending even further to my throat.

I focus all my attention on the image, seeing what Kaellen is doing. I hear the prince puffing in dismay, giving me a little smile.

After a short time, my erection fades and I sneer, satisfied, because even when I was on Earth I had to calm down by thinking about something else.

Meanwhile, Kaellen has finished eating and is getting ready to go out. He slings a bag over his shoulder and puts spare clothes in it, confusing me.

<> I ask, blinking.

He gives me this half-answer that intrigues me even more. I start rocking my legs, eager to visit new places. I keep looking at the hologram with big eyes, like a child looks at something they like.

<> he whispers softly to me, giving me a little kiss on the neck. Feeling his lips on a sensitive spot in my throat, chills run through my back and my cheeks still turn red.

<> I grumble.

"Now it's you two who are making lovebirds!" Kaellen exclaims, interrupting us. His enjoyment of our scene can be seen in his tone.

<> I exclaim, and then we start laughing at the top of our voices.

"Now you will see our territory, as well as our home, Selkhin," the Dragonian side informs me. I nod and, as I continue to see the image, a smile appears on my face. You can immediately tell that I'm excited because I keep moving and my eyes are shining.

<> Kael whispers to me.

<> I say. Out of the corner of my eye, I see one of his dimples popping up. I feel my heart lose a beat and then resume faster.

Before leaving, Kaellen greets her mothers and then walks to a hidden spot. He starts taking off his shirt, but before I can see anything, Kael covers my view with his two big hands. I gasp at this gesture and puff with discontent. I fold my arms and let him know that I didn't like his gesture.

A few seconds later, I levered them and was struck by what I saw. Kaellen had turned into a huge dragon. His whole body is covered in shiny, black scales—I'd like to touch them. His tail is almost as long as my leg. The only other colors are: his beautiful eyes, where you could see the vertical pupil, and a purple diamond in the middle of his forehead.

My astonishment increases when I realize that I have already glimpsed this dragon. "Oh, gosh" I think.

<> asks Kael, worried about my sudden stiffening.

<> I answer. A shiver runs all over my body, recalling the heat of its flames. Kael hugs me more closely, trying to warm me up as he feels my body temperature has dropped exponentially.

<> I say, reassuring him by weaving my fingers through his. "I am relieved to have someone in times of need! When I was on my planet, I was always alone..." I think with regret but also with relief.

<> he whispers to me, making me smile.

"I will be there for you too" exclaims Kaellen, causing my smile to widen.

When the atmosphere eases, I see the dragon taking flight. I am enchanted by the landscape that appears before me. Although I have already had experience flying in aircraft, this is the first time I can fully appreciate the view around me.

A vast blue horizon extends in front of us, and a mountain range can be seen in the distance. Above us are the clouds that accompany us on our long journey. Below us, you can see an endless expanse of trees, and in the background, you can hear the serene sound of water.

<> I ask.

<> he replies. <> he continues to tell me, and from the tone of his voice I understand that he is proud. I bite my lower lip to hold back the smile that was about to be born.

Throughout the afternoon, I was amazed at everything I saw.

We flew over a forest and, as a first stop, we visited a majestic tree where some of the inhabitants live. The second stop was the lake I had heard about before, and houses were all around. The third, and the one that surprised me the most, was where we interacted with the inhabitants located on a floating island. The last one was on the mountain range where there were three places: one part of the population lives in the recesses, another in the gloomy caves, and another in an active volcano.

Whenever Kaellen made a landing, people would gather at that point to interact with him. Everyone was informed about his state of health and why he was present. He replied that he was accompanying our guest on a tour, and they greeted the news with a smile.

Kael explains to me, when we start going back, that these colonies exist in specific habitats because each has different affinities with the different elements.

<> I ask, intrigued at the end of the explanation. We are now halfway back.

<> he replies, leaving a bitter taste in my mouth.

<> I reply reluctantly, but I know he was right to tell me to speak tomorrow because I am still yawning.

We finally got back to the point where Kaellen left her clothes, which had gotten dirty in the meantime.

<> I exclaim. I feel their amused looks at me and, in order not to show that I am embarrassed, I cover my face with my hands.

Before long, I calm down and, removing my fingers, I realize that Kaellen has already dressed. I am shocked by his speed, but also annoyed because I wanted to observe him.

Kaellen has dinner with his family, even though it's quite late, and he tells them how he spent the day, detailing all my moods. They look at him with immense warmth and laugh at the story of my imprecations.

He finally throws himself into bed and materializes here. All three of us go to sleep with a satisfied smile on our lips and the knowledge that the next day will be full of emotions.
