Elle's Pov Continued...
He stands, stretch his back, the motion making his shirt pull tight against his shoulders, the fabric wrinkled from hours of sitting.
"I should go," he says, though his hand doesn't actually leave the bed rail. His fingers stays hooked there like he forgot the rest of his body is supposed to follow. "Zoe heard and now she's convinced you're dead. I need to go reassure her that you're just a drama queen who needs a nap."
A laugh slips out of me before I can stop it, which immediately turns into a wince.
"Ow. Okay, rude," I mutter, pressing a hand to my ribs. "Tell her I'm fine. Just… temporarily starring in my own medical drama."
Damian huffs softly. "I'll tell her you fainted for attention."
"I'll haunt you."
