I didn't slow down the entire way back, my grip still firm on Yan Mo's sleeve as I dragged him through the village paths, ignoring the curious glances from the villagers because at this point I was no longer interested in explanations. I only wanted him standing in front of me where he could not walk away halfway through the conversation again.
Yan Mo did not resist.
He simply followed behind me calmly, his expression unreadable as always, as if being dragged across the village by an angry woman was completely normal.
That only irritated me more.
By the time we reached the chief's house, the hall was empty and quiet. The tables had already been pushed aside earlier, and sunlight spilled faintly through the open windows, lighting the dusty floor.
The moment we stepped inside, I released his sleeve and walked straight to the front before sitting down heavily.
Yan Mo stopped a few steps away from me.
I pointed at him immediately.
