Chapter 122 - Ch-122 Blueno And Spandam.

Blueno ran without pause, leaping from one building to another. The wind whipped past his ears as tiles cracked faintly beneath each landing. When the distance between two rooftops stretched too far, he stepped into the air itself, using Moonwalk to propel himself forward before landing smoothly on the next structure.

In his hand, he held a Den Den Mushi, its small face tense and waiting. He had already dialed Spandam and was listening for the call to connect, the faint static blending with the rush of the wind around him. Pick up already…

At last, the line clicked.

Spandam answered immediately, not even bothering to confirm who was on the other side before launching into a barrage of questions. "Is Gojo's assassination successful? Is he dead? And since you did not arrive at the station on time, I have already ordered them to bring Robin to Enies Lobby. They must have left Water 7 by now and are already on their way. So you will remain there in Water 7 and wait for the Aqua Laguna to calm down before leaving Water 7."

Blueno said nothing at first.

He knew Spandam's habits—his need to talk endlessly, to assume outcomes, to declare conclusions before hearing the truth. There was no room to interrupt. Blueno simply listened, his expression darkening as the words continued through the Den Den Mushi.

He came to a stop on the roof of a building, his shoes scraping lightly against the surface as he steadied himself. The wind howled around him, tugging at his coat, but he stood still, gripping the Den Den Mushi a little tighter.

Then, in a heavy voice, each word weighed down with tension, he spoke—

"Gojo's assassination failed… and Gojo is still alive and well… without even a single injury."

Silence followed.

For a few moments, there was nothing—only the distant roar of the wind sweeping across the rooftops. Even the snail in his hand seemed to freeze, its expression stiff.

Then—

"What? What are you talking about?!"

Spandam's voice exploded through the Den Den Mushi, sharp and furious, making Blueno's grip tighten slightly.

"You were not able to assassinate Gojo? Your plan was foolproof, right?! You knew all the details about him—his every routine—and you were confident that with another CP9 agent you would be able to assassinate Gojo! And now you're saying you weren't even able to do that?!"

There was a brief pause, but the anger only sharpened.

"Where is Kumadori? I want to talk to him!"

"Our calculations were totally wrong," Blueno said, his voice low but steady, cutting through the chaos of Spandam's rage. "Gojo's abilities are… very monstrous."

He paused briefly, recalling the fight—each movement, each impossible adaptation.

"He had never learned the Six Powers," Blueno continued, his tone growing more serious, "but he learned them while fighting us—just by observing our style."

The Den Den Mushi remained silent now, as if even Spandam was forced to listen.

"He learned all those Six Powers on the spot… the very techniques we used against him."

Blueno's grip tightened slightly around the Den Den Mushi.

"And Kumadori is not with me right now," he added. "He is holding Gojo back as we speak. He sent me to inform you about Gojo's abilities… because if both of us had stayed there, then we both might have died."

The wind surged again, stronger this time, as Blueno's voice dropped a fraction lower.

"So he ordered me to leave… and report to you about Gojo's monstrous abilities."

As soon as Spandam heard this, his voice erupted again, louder than before, filled with raw frustration.

"Trash! You all are trash! You're just giving some nonsensical excuses!" he shouted through the Den Den Mushi, his voice cracking with anger. "How is this even possible? How can anyone learn the Six Powers so quickly and so easily just by observing, without proper training?! You're just making up stories to hide your failures! Where is Kumadori? Go bring him to me—I want to talk to him!"

Blueno's expression hardened slightly, but before he could respond—

A sharp instinct screamed through his body.

Without hesitation, he turned around.

At that exact moment, his body moved on its own. With the Den Den Mushi still clutched in his right hand, his legs were free—his stance shifted instantly as he unleashed a Tempest Kick.

His leg sliced through the air.

A compressed air slash shot forward, cutting through the space ahead with a sharp, piercing sound.

In the next instant, something was split cleanly in half.

Blueno's eyes narrowed as he focused on what he had just struck—

—and then, a fraction too late, realization hit.

What he had cut… was Kumadori's head.

It had been thrown toward him.

The two halves separated midair, tumbling down from the rooftop as a faint metallic scent spread into the wind. For a brief moment, everything seemed to go still.

…Too late.

Then, slowly, Blueno lifted his gaze.

Across from him, on the rooftop of another building, stood Gojo.

Calm. Unmoving.

As if he had been there the entire time.

Blueno's face twisted the moment he realized what he had done.

For a brief second, his eyes lingered on the falling remains, his jaw tightening. There wasn't much camaraderie among CP9 agents—that was true—but even so… cutting the head of your own dead teammate in half—

It felt wrong.

Disgusting.

Disrespectful.

A faint crease formed on his brow as he steadied himself, forcing the feeling down. Focus.

His gaze snapped back to Gojo, anger rising to the surface.

"Since when are you following me?" Blueno asked, his voice sharp, edged with restrained fury.

Gojo stood casually on the opposite rooftop, the wind brushing past him as if it didn't matter. His posture was relaxed, almost lazy.

"Since the moment you were trying to connect your Den Den Mushi to someone," Gojo replied calmly. "And while you were talking, I was just standing here on this roof."

A faint smirk touched his lips.

"You were just ignorant enough to ignore my presence, that's all."

Blueno's eyes hardened.

"Do you know what you have done?" he said, his voice dropping lower, heavier. "You have killed Kumadori. You will face the revenge of all World Government agents. You won't live for long."

For a moment, the wind howled between the two rooftops, carrying the tension with it.

Then Gojo spoke again—

"Are you joking with me?"

His tone was almost amused.

"Do you really think you can escape from here to even see that happen? Or that I would fear any of your World Government agents?"

He tilted his head slightly.

"Honestly speaking… I don't give a fuck."

The words landed, flat and absolute.

"Why didn't you continue using your Devil Fruit powers to escape?" Gojo continued, his gaze steady on Blueno. "I mean, when you left the hotel, you used your Devil fruit powers to immediately move to the other side of the town."

He took a small step forward, the distance between them unchanged, yet the pressure subtly increasing.

"If my memory serves me right—and my calculations are correct—then that was the mansion of Mayor Iceberg in Water 7."

Gojo's eyes sharpened just a fraction.

"And when you came around to this side… most likely, you came here to take a train from the station, right?"

Blueno fell silent.

He didn't answer.

Because everything Gojo had said… was correct.

His expression darkened, eyes narrowing as the sequence replayed in his mind.

He had first gone to Iceberg's mansion, intending to regroup with the others. But when he arrived, it was already empty—the other CP9 agents had left ahead of him.

From that moment, he had understood.

They would go to the railway station.

They would take the sea train.

They would leave for Enies Lobby.

So he moved without delay.

But when he reached the station—

It was already too late.

The train had already departed, its distant echo swallowed by the storm and the restless sea. The platform had been empty. Damn it…

Left with no other option, Blueno had turned away from the station and immediately contacted Spandam.

At that time, he had believed something—

That he had successfully shaken Gojo off.

That Gojo wouldn't be able to find him again.

But now—

He understood.

He had miscalculated.

Gojo could use Observation Haki… and not just at a basic level—his Observation Haki was exceptionally strong.

As long as Blueno remained inside his Door Space, he was completely hidden, cut off from the outside world, beyond Gojo's perception.

But the moment he stepped out—

The moment he opened the door and returned to reality—

Blueno's jaw tightened slightly.

He had unknowingly stepped right back into Gojo's range.

No—

Not just within range.

Right in front of him…
