Chapter 607: The Structure of the Rock of Eternity

A Superhero Secret

Looking at her friend, Diana couldn't help but ask,

"How did you get here?"

"When the explosion happened, you didn't show up, so I worried about you and ran inside. Then I found a crystal sphere, touched it, and ended up here! You won't believe it, I just went into a warehouse full of weapons thousands of years old. Wow! It was absolutely insane! I've never seen anything like it."

"You..."

Diana opened her mouth, a mix of emotion and exasperation on her face.

"Don't worry!" Barbara waved her hand grandly. "I won't tell anyone your secret about being Wonder Woman. Is there anything cooler than having a friend who's a superhero who saves the world?"

"Oh, right! Do you know Superman?"

Diana sighed, nodding.

"Could you please get me an autographed photo of him? He's so handsome! I've always wanted his picture."

Diana offered a wry smile. "If I get the chance, I will try to get one for you."

"That's great, Diana! You're the best!"

Barbara was thrilled, raising her hands in a cheer. Afterward, the two left the Colosseum and began searching for an exit.

If the Rock of Eternity were a pyramid, the Third Layer would be the bottom section. Its area was four times that of the Second Layer. The Colosseum and the Magic Experiment Center were ridiculously large, definitely not built for human use.

The two followed a pathway to the Forge area. Even after thousands of years, the giant furnaces still glowed red, radiating intense heat. Stone rooms next to the furnaces were piled high with various metal blocks, including magical metals. Unfortunately, after all this time, most had become scrap, with only a small portion preserved.

Barbara couldn't help but ask,

"What exactly is this place? It feels like some kind of ancient military fortress."

Diana picked up a sword, looked at it, and threw it on the ground.

"I'm not sure, either. Maybe it really was a military fortress."

Luke had mentioned the Rock of Eternity—a rumored meeting place for ancient gods. Diana initially thought he was joking, but judging by the current situation, it was likely true.

The Rock of Eternity, the Council of Eternity!

Diana shook her head.

"Let's go. We have to find an exit, or we might starve to death here."

The Second Layer

The two left the Forge area, chose a direction, and walked forward. Passing through the Alchemy Lab, a tall tower suddenly appeared before them. Barbara stared intently and exclaimed excitedly,

"That tower seems to connect to the upper layer!"

Diana also noticed it. She drew her shield and lasso and strode forward.

There were two stone statues guarding the tower entrance, similar to the sculptures in the Colosseum. Diana approached cautiously, but the statues didn't react. She shook her head, feeling foolish for being so jumpy.

Inside the tower were ten magical, upward-moving elevators. When a lever was pulled, the elevator automatically ascended, taking them to the upper layer.

The conditions here were completely different from below. The light was bright, and the architecture became refined. There were no ten-meter-high doors or seemingly endless arenas.

"Look!"

Barbara suddenly pointed ahead. "There's a fountain!"

Diana nodded. Her eyes swept over the surroundings. Seeing buildings that resembled shops, she realized what it was: a Trade Plaza.

They continued wandering. To the left of the plaza was a Garden, overgrown with weeds and filled with plants they had never seen before. Barbara quickly pulled out her phone to take pictures; this was exclusive news, equivalent to discovering new species.

Diana increasingly felt that something was wrong with this place. The Colosseum, Armory, Training Grounds, Forge, Trade Plaza, Garden... all signs pointed to one conclusion: many people once lived in the Rock of Eternity. Then, for unknown reasons, everyone vanished, leaving only the structures behind.

Just then, footsteps sounded. Diana quickly turned around. A bald, middle-aged man around forty emerged from a corner. Seeing the two women, he was startled.

"You... you are also from the outside?"

"Thaddeus Sivana."

"You know me?"

Diana said flatly, "How are you here?"

Sivana's eyes flickered. He asked tentatively, "I'm looking for someone—a blond young man about thirty years old. Have you seen him?"

Barbara scoffed. "There's not a soul down there. How could anyone be there?"

Down there?

Sivana keenly picked up on the clue and asked,

"Where did you come up from?"

Barbara was about to answer but was stopped by a look from Diana, who then countered,

"Have you been on this layer the entire time?"

"Yes."

"Then have you seen a young man in his twenties with black hair and light green eyes?"

Sivana felt strange. The person she described was none other than Luke Shaw. Was she with him? Thinking this, he couldn't help but ask,

"What is your relationship with that person?"

"A friend."

Sivana sighed in relief. "Tell me the location and details of the lower-level entrance, and I'll tell you where that person is."

Diana pondered for a moment, then slowly nodded.

The two exchanged information. After obtaining the details he wanted, Sivana immediately left. Diana also headed toward the Library.

Barbara whispered, "Mr. Rubio is here, too?"

"He came with me."

"What exactly," Barbara gestured, "is your relationship?"

Diana gave a pained smile. "Some things are inconvenient to tell you. Don't ask again."

"Oh!"

Barbara obediently nodded, though her eyes were spinning with curiosity.

The Unmasking

The Library was not far from the Garden, only about a fifteen-minute walk. They didn't see anyone when they arrived, but Diana wasn't discouraged. Sure enough, footsteps soon sounded outside the door.

Barbara covered her mouth, staring in shock at the man who appeared in the doorway.

"Lu... Luke Shaw?"

"Diana, he's the one you were looking for?"

"You two..."

Diana looked helpless, having not anticipated Luke would remove his mask.

Luke closed the book he was reading.

"Long time no see, Ms. Prince."

Diana suddenly understood and played along. "Long time no see, Mr. Shaw. I didn't think you would actually be here."

"This library holds so many secrets; I just couldn't bear to leave."

He then looked at Barbara. "Ms. Minerva, do you still recognize me?"

"You're... Rubio?"

Luke smiled, his tone gentle and his demeanor refined, giving her a feeling of pleasant warmth. "To avoid trouble, I had to disguise myself and use a different name. I hope you don't mind."

"No, no, not at all."

Barbara quickly waved her hands, looking flustered. She had initially been suspicious of their relationship, but the recent exchange suggested otherwise.

Luke Shaw!

The world's richest man at 21, the pioneer of a new era, the dream lover of millions of girls...

My God! He's actually here! This is utterly insane.

Barbara felt her heart pound and her mind crash.
