Chapter 513: Yin-Nourishment for Yang-Energy
Parting and Paternity
An hour later, Lingxu Zi left the office with a complicated expression.
His mood was split between heaven and hell. Luke had prepared an unparalleled plan that, if successful, would make the Lingxu Sect world-famous, a permanent symbol and legacy.
However, he deeply doubted his own capabilities. A perfect plan requires a perfect executor, and a nearly seventy-year-old man hardly seemed like the optimal choice.
Just before leaving, Lingxu Zi remembered something and turned back.
"Your grandfather told me to tell you that if you want to meet your father, you can go. He won't mind."
Luke replied calmly, "I don't have a father. Only a grandfather."
"As you wish."
Lingxu Zi knew his words were pointless and didn't bother to argue. He accelerated his pace, contemplating how to execute the plan.
A few days later, the contracts were formally signed. After selecting the responsible managers, Luke boarded a commercial airliner back to Metropolis.
Outside the airport, Qin Ruchuan watched the white speck disappear into the sky and smiled bitterly. He had hoped Luke would meet him, given that he was his father, but they never did.
"Angelica, this child is neither like you nor like me, but he is more exceptional than both of us."
Qin Ruchuan sighed and drove home. By the time he arrived, it was noon. His wife was preparing lunch in the kitchen, and a young man he had never seen before was sitting in the living room.
"You must be Mr. Qin, right?"
The young man, around twenty years old, spoke shyly. "My name is Chu Yi. I'm a student at Shanghai University and I'm here to apply for the tutoring position. Here are my college entrance examination scores and university transcripts."
He took out two sheets of paper and handed them over.
Qin Ruchuan accepted the transcripts. After looking them over, he nodded. He then scrutinized Chu Yi again—a good young man. Aside from being slightly timid, he seemed fine in all other aspects.
The two talked for half an hour. With no outstanding issues, they signed the contract. Chu Yi didn't stay for lunch and left immediately. As soon as he stepped outside the complex, the voice of the Seventh Sister rang in his ear.
"How did it go?"
"It's done. There's something I need to tell you."
Chu Yi spoke mentally while glancing around. "Their new neighbor across the street isn't an ordinary person."
"Don't worry about that. Old Thirteen, your main task now is to get close to them."
Chu Yi said helplessly, "If the main body finds out we're doing this, will he be unhappy?"
The Seventh Sister, an avatar operating as the world-renowned designer Curie Celine, scoffed.
"Do you think the main body doesn't know? Don't be silly. He knows everything; he just can't be bothered to deal with it."
"What about Sixth Brother and Ninth Brother?"
"A bunch of cold-blooded animals, just like the main body. Ignore them. It's enough that we know. By the way, how is Qu Youran? Haven't managed to win her over yet?"
At the mention of this, Chu Yi's face immediately fell, and he remained silent.
The Seventh Sister clutched her forehead, looking exasperated.
"It's been this long and there's still no progress! I'm truly fed up... No wonder the main body put you last. I seriously wonder if you inherited all of his useless qualities."
Chu Yi argued, "It's not that there's no progress..."
"Stop! Don't explain. I don't want to hear it. I'm warning you, if you continue to be this cowardly, the consequences are unpredictable."
Chu Yi was startled. He rushed to ask, "Are you going to move against her?"
"I won't move against her, but that doesn't mean others won't. You are Old Thirteen. Like us, you are an avatar of the main body, and you represent the main body. You can be humiliated for the sake of your so-called love, but we cannot tolerate it. It's not just your own reputation you're damaging."
At her words, Chu Yi felt cold all over, and cold sweat broke out on his forehead.
"One month. That's the deadline Sixth Brother gave you. Make a change, little brother Thirteen. Your time is running out."
The Secret of the Texts
Back in Metropolis, Luke spent two weeks handling work, then took a sufficient supply of food and water to a highly secluded, remote island in the South Pacific.
Linda surveyed the surroundings and couldn't help but ask,
"Can't you cultivate the Heavenly Master's Strategy on the mainland? Why come all the way here?"
"The secluded island is peaceful. No one will disturb me."
"How long do you plan to stay?"
"Until I master it."
"Specific time?"
"Hard to say. Maybe a month or two, maybe a year or two."
Linda was furious. "Didn't you promise to give me a surprise in three months?"
Luke's eyes were strange, and he couldn't resist teasing her.
"If you want a surprise, I can give it to you right now."
"I don't need it! You liar. I hope you're lonely and miserable here until you die."
The girl angrily snorted, leaped up, creating a sonic boom cloud, and disappeared into the sky in a flash.
Luke smiled helplessly. He had the robot clear the surrounding trees and weeds, then walked to the beach. Orm, wearing a silver suit of armor, emerged from the sea and knelt before Luke.
"Main Body!"
"Mmh."
Luke nodded. "Clear all living things within a hundred nautical miles of the island. I don't want to be disturbed."
"Is there anything else?"
"Arrange for two women."
"Mera is in the Royal City. Should I summon her?"
"No need."
Orm bowed slightly and left. Soon after, two voluptuous Atlantean noble girls appeared on the island. Luke did not hesitate. After venting his pent-up desires, he walked up a hillside, waved his hand, and five books composed of data streams floated into existence.
The five books were: the Dao Heart Demonic Seed True Scripture, the Yin Nether Record, the Blood Coagulation Artifact Catalog, the Yin-Yang Five Elements Technique, and the Heavenly Master's Strategy.
Excluding the last one, the others were all malicious, incredibly powerful, and highly creative Demonic Path techniques.
The Dao Heart Demonic Seed True Scripture, as its name suggests, uses the Dao Heart to cultivate a Demonic Seed. The cultivation speed is extremely fast, allowing one to achieve a lifetime's worth of progress in a short time. The price is loss of control, turning the practitioner into a demon driven only by slaughter.
The Yin Nether Record is even more cruel, increasing cultivation by extracting the vital souls of living people. A deep practitioner can become a Ghost King and create a Netherworld. The creator of this technique once committed boundless slaughter that even the Daoist sect couldn't oppose.
The Blood Coagulation Artifact Catalog is different from the first two; it mainly details methods for creating vicious magical artifacts. The manufacturing process for some of these artifacts is utterly immoral and inhumane.
Luke had no interest in these three books. With the Heavenly Master's Strategy as the shining example, the Dao Heart Demonic Seed True Scripture and the Yin Nether Record were dispensable. As for the artifacts, could they really compare to powered armor?
The only text he found worthwhile was the Yin-Yang Five Elements Technique. This book was essentially a complete encyclopedia, covering all aspects of Yin-Yang and the Five Elements. It didn't record many techniques, but the ones it did were all extremely insidious.
In particular, the Yin-Nourishment for Yang-Energy Grand Technique made Luke nod repeatedly.
The Cai Yin Bu Yang in this book is different from what's described in fantasy novels. Here, Yin refers to the soul, and Yang refers to the physical body. The general idea is to use the energy of the soul to nourish the body, achieving the effect of prolonging life and strengthening the physique. The deeper one cultivates, the duller one's mind becomes, but the stronger the body grows. In ancient times, some widowed royal women or noble ladies would hire evil Daoist priests to create strong men who cultivated this technique, then hide them in their deep chambers. As for their use... that varied from person to person.
