Chapter 499: The Second Phase of the Plan
The Deal is Struck
Over fifty core disciples and dozens of sects—a total of over a thousand people.
What did Luke Shaw want with so many people?
Lian Qigong pondered deeply.
"We will not commit any crimes."
"Don't worry," Derek assured him. "It's just for shouting slogans and building momentum. No killing, no arson. So, do you agree?"
Lian Qigong couldn't decide and looked at the others. The elders gathered and discussed in low voices. After a brief exchange,
"Provided there is no killing or arson, we can agree."
"Then it's settled."
Derek laughed heartily. The task entrusted to him by the Young Master was complete.
With the conditions set, the match officially began.
Jiu and Chen Feng stepped onto the hastily erected ring, stopping about four meters apart. Reporters brandished their cameras, and several local television stations broadcasted live.
The surroundings were noisy, but it didn't affect Jiu or Chen Feng.
The former was simple-minded, only knowing how to eat and fight. The latter was a pure martial artist who had spent half his life training, sometimes not speaking a word for days.
Once the referee confirmed both sides were ready, he waved his hand.
"The match begins!"
The Clash of Hard Qigong and Mad Beast
As the words fell, Jiu dropped to all fours and rushed forward quickly. Chen Feng adopted the starting stance of ancient boxing, his gaze steady and fixed straight ahead.
Jiu's speed was terrifyingly fast. As he reached Chen Feng, he suddenly pivoted and swung his claws from the right.
The claws ripped through the air with frightening speed. Yet, Chen Feng seemed to have anticipated it. He shifted his left leg back, dodged the strike, and then surged forward, delivering a straight punch right into the gap.
Bang!
The punch was blocked by Jiu's arm, but the powerful force sent Jiu staggering backward.
"Good!"
The crowd roared in approval. The smile vanished from Derek's face, his eyes serious.
"Such solid fundamentals! What a hard punch!"
Having gained the advantage, Chen Feng did not pursue. He stood firm, maintaining his horse stance, rooted to the spot.
Jiu's eyes turned fierce. He circled his opponent on all fours, like a beast in hunting mode.
After circling four times, he suddenly lunged forward, stopping strangely about two meters in front of Chen Feng.
The sallow-faced master's expression changed slightly. He quickly retreated. The boy pressed relentlessly, always maintaining that two-meter distance—neither too close nor too far.
Jiu grew up in the wilderness and knew the simplest, most effective ways to dispatch prey. These methods weren't necessarily effective against humans, but he was a fighter with exceptional talent. Through continuous ring combat, he had figured out human fighting methods.
Distance was humanity's weak spot. Due to a lack of explosive power, two meters was the limit of an ordinary person's effective attack range, but for Jiu, it was just the beginning.
Chen Feng felt pressured. He couldn't help but roar, smashing his iron fist, encased in internal energy, forward with full force. Before the fist even arrived, the strong wind it generated rushed into Jiu's face.
Jiu quickly dodged.
With the punch missing, Chen Feng smoothly changed his hand into a claw, aiming for Jiu's face.
This move was extremely precise, landing perfectly in the spot where Jiu was forced to retreat.
Bang!
Jiu's arm came up, blocking the claw. The light in Chen Feng's eyes intensified. He unleashed his full power, his five fingers cracking, as if trying to crush Jiu's arm.
In the next second, a massive force burst out.
Jiu forcibly broke free using sheer power. He countered, grabbing the opponent's wrist. His grip was even more terrifying. With a single twist, he broke the entire arm.
Chen Feng's right hand was in excruciating pain, completely powerless.
His pupils contracted, shocked and enraged. He had watched videos and studied Jiu's fighting style repeatedly for this battle, confident of victory, but this was the result.
He was a ruthless man. He abandoned his right hand, grabbed Jiu's shoulder, and slammed his head into the boy's.
Thud!
The two heads collided heavily. Not just the fighters, but the surrounding audience felt the pain.
Jiu's head was dazed from the impact, his body swaying. Chen Feng was slightly better. Having practiced Iron Head Qigong, he could absorb the counter-shock. Taking advantage of Jiu's confusion, he rained down punches and kicks, forcing the boy back relentlessly.
The cheers were deafening. The elders couldn't help but lean forward in anticipation.
Derek's expression shifted slightly.
"Surely this kid won't lose!"
The Price of Victory
In the next instant, a tiger's roar exploded in the air.
A savage, murderous aura swept across the stadium. Everyone's hair stood on end, as if they had encountered a ferocious, man-eating tiger.
The fallen Jiu suddenly surged up, punching Chen Feng squarely in the chest.
Crack!
Chen Feng's clothes tore apart. He flew directly backward, a fist print imprinted on his chest, surrounded by a spiderweb of purplish-red veins.
The air became eerily quiet.
Everyone was stunned. Lian Qigong stammered,
"Tiger... Tiger..."
Jiu walked step by step toward Chen Feng, his blood-red eyes exuding a chilling killing intent. Looking closely, one could vaguely see the phantom of a tiger behind him.
The killing intent rolled out in waves. Several timid spectators collapsed onto the ground, their mouths trembling, with liquid streaming out from below.
At this moment, Jiu's outward appearance was human, but his inner self was becoming feral.
Chen Feng coughed up blood. The composure in his eyes vanished, replaced by sheer despair.
"I concede! I concede!"
He screamed with all his might, but Jiu showed no sign of stopping, each step falling on Chen Feng's heart.
Seeing the situation, Zhao Cheng yelled sharply,
"Stop your man immediately! We concede!"
Derek smirked inwardly. Stop Jiu? What a joke! Who dares stop him except the Young Master and Miss Danvers?
When that kid goes mad, he doesn't recognize anyone.
Meanwhile, in a nearby restaurant, Linda, watching the battle on screen, frowned.
"Can he pull through?"
"Difficult. Almost impossible."
Jiu's nature was that of a wild beast. He couldn't control himself, let alone anyone else.
Linda sighed. "I shouldn't have listened to you. Now what? With so many cameras pointed at him, once he starts killing, how will you handle it?"
"Relax. He won't kill anyone."
"Ava."
"Understood, Young Master."
A powerful biological pulse erupted from the clothes Jiu was wearing. The pulse acted on his nervous system, instantly electrocuting him unconscious.
The boy collapsed heavily. The murderous aura that permeated the area vanished with him.
Everyone collectively breathed a sigh of relief. Zhao Cheng looked at Derek, puzzled.
"This is..."
Derek spread his hands. "You told me to stop him. This was the only way."
"What about the result of the match?"
Zhao Cheng's eyes were hopeful, and the other elders also looked eager.
Jiu was unconscious. Although Chen Feng was severely injured, he was still marginally conscious. In principle...
Derek let out a cold laugh.
"What, you want to go back on your word? Fine. I'll wake him up right now, and we can continue the match."
With that, he started to walk down.
The crowd panicked and could only say bitterly,
"We lost. We concede. But we have one question: Was that tiger roar just now the legendary Tiger Fiend Scripture?"
As the words fell, all eyes converged on Derek, showing intense curiosity.
Derek felt smug. He cleared his throat with a feigned seriousness before speaking slowly,
"Indeed. What Jiu practices is the Tiger Fiend Scripture, the top-tier martial art rumored to rival the Heavenly Master's Strategy."
