Chapter 423: Princess Kidnapping Case (2)

The Sea God Prototype Battlesuit

Following Atenel's shout, Fish Man guards walked into the hall, carrying a metal case taller than a man. The case was silver-white, imprinted on the front with the image of the Sea God Poseidon, and flanked by golden tridents.

Kamils walked up to the case and entered the code.

A wave of coldness spread outward.

The lid opened, and a battlesuit glowing with an azure light abruptly entered their sight.

The armor was streamlined in design. Its surface shimmered with a faint, watery light wave that obscured its details, giving it a unique, hazy quality.

The guards in the hall looked on curiously.

Such beautiful armor, never seen before.

Mera frowned deeply. She could sense that the armor was emanating a strange, mystical energy wave—a force that was vast, profound, and elusive, seemingly integrated with the sea itself.

Nereus clenched his fist, speaking every word slowly.

"The Sea God... Prototype Battlesuit?"

"As expected of Your Majesty, to know even this secret."

Nereus said coldly, "The Sea God Prototype Battlesuit is a core secret of Atlantis. Why is it in your hands, Atenel? You owe me an explanation."

Atenel bowed, offering a thin, insincere smile.

"Esteemed Majesty, please forgive my offense. Atlanteans are the descendants of the Sea God, innate powerhouses. We can permit failure, but we cannot be defeated by a surface-dweller. That would be a disgrace—a disgrace to all Atlantis."

"Since the surface-dweller defeated Lady Maria using high-tech armor, we must naturally reciprocate in the same manner."

"After learning of my needs, Prince Orm sent this battlesuit, which represents the highest technology of Atlantis. The loan period is two days; it must be returned afterward."

Atenel bowed again, his expression extremely earnest.

Nereus could say no more and had to swallow his anger. The opponent had already said it was a loan. What could he do? He couldn't forbid the Fisherman Kingdom from using the armor just because he was angry.

Mera's face was grim.

"Atenel, this is the deep sea, not the surface. You must understand that without armor protection, surface-dwellers cannot function in the deep sea."

"Your Highness is correct, but..."

Changing his tone, Atenel suddenly became hardline. "This is a duel, concerning life, death, and honor. The surface-dweller is using the best weaponry and equipment, so naturally, we must use ours. That is only fair. There is one more thing I must remind Your Highness: you have Atlantean blood flowing in your veins..." The implication was clear: Stop constantly defending outsiders.

Mera scoffed and turned to swim toward Luke Shaw. Nereus stopped her after only two steps.

"Father, you..."

Nereus gave his daughter a deep look. "You are the Princess. You must consider the impact of your actions."

Mera immediately fell silent. Sensing the strange looks of the people around her, she could only grit her teeth and return to her original position.

Preparation for the Coup

The conversation between the few people was conducted in the Atlantean language without deliberately lowering their voices. Consequently, all the guards in the hall heard it, and they scrutinized Luke Shaw and Carol with strange looks, as if they were observing lambs to the slaughter.

The Atlantean royal family, represented by Orm, wants him dead. The Fisherman Kingdom delegation accepted the assassination commission. The King of Xebel covets his Float Armor. The Princess Guard monitors his every move. Maria secretly poisoned his food...

One incident after another, the ridiculous surface-dweller had no idea of the disaster he faced.

Killing intent permeated the surroundings, and the atmosphere became increasingly bizarre.

Carol whispered in French,

"Something is wrong?"

Luke Shaw grinned, replying in French as well, "Except for Mera, everyone here wants me dead. This is good. I felt a little guilty before, but now all that's gone."

"Stupid Atlanteans. Arrogant and self-righteous. They are like toads in a well who see a small patch of sky and think they are kings. Don't hold back later. Give them a lesson. Let them know who the real king of this planet is."

The girl rolled her eyes at him. He calls others arrogant, but I think you are the most arrogant of all.

After Kamils put on the battlesuit, a layer of blue water film appeared around him. This water film seemed to merge with the seawater, and its enhancement boosted his speed to an exaggerated degree. With one flash, he covered a hundred meters and landed on the arena stage.

Hoo!

Hoo!

Hoo!

The guards let out enthusiastic roars. The duel was a sacred Atlantean tradition and its most popular form of entertainment.

Luke Shaw sneered, leaping toward the lava pit. The Float Armor could not receive enhancement from the sea, but that didn't mean the water currents could restrict its movement.

The two stood on the arena stage, surrounded by flowing magma.

The two battlesuits: one was completely azure, cool in design, with every plate conforming to streamlined aesthetics, like the body of a mermaid, exuding a charming halo under the water film.

The other emitted a faint red light, with no fixed shape, seeming to be composed of countless microparticles, constantly wriggling and changing every minute, giving off a sense of bizarre unpredictability.

Such an armor was unheard of and unseen.

"What a strange armor!"

Nereus muttered, his curiosity piqued. Although he had received many performance descriptions of the Float Armor from his subordinates, this was the first time he had seen it with his own eyes.

"I hope you don't disappoint me."

A flash of greed crossed his eyes, then vanished.

Everyone moved to the viewing platforms. Carol also used this opportunity to sneak next to Mera. As the stirring drum music began, the battle officially started.

Kamils wasted no time and immediately launched a fierce attack.

Water waves exploded behind him, and his trident swept forward, stirring up a large ocean current.

Clang!

Luke Shaw raised his arm to block. His forearm collided with the trident, and he seemed unable to withstand the force, retreating two steps backward.

Nereus frowned, glancing at Maria beside him. According to the previous intelligence, Maria's full-power strike could not make the surface-dweller retreat even half a step. Yet now, he was pushed back several meters by a single blow. The difference was too great.

Maria didn't know how to explain, so she just stared at the arena without responding.

"Nothing special."

Kamils sneered. Having succeeded with one blow, he launched a frantic assault. Atlanteans inherently possessed the talent to control water flow, and the Sea God Armor amplified this talent many times over.

The blue water film expanded outwards. The surrounding seawater seemed to come alive, acting like another pair of extended limbs. Kamils manipulated the seawater effortlessly; every swing of his weapon stirred up surging waves.

His combat was like a magnificent performance. Whirlpools encased his body, the currents transformed into whips, pythons, and even a tornado shape. The powerful destructive force caused the watching Xebel crowd to feel secretly alarmed.

Truly worthy of being Atlantis's secret weapon. It is indeed powerful. If every soldier wore such armor, they wouldn't even need to fight; they could just surrender.

Looking at the clearly disadvantaged Luke Shaw, Nereus suddenly felt regretful. His tone became low.

"How much longer?"

Maria lowered her head awkwardly.

"About twenty seconds."

Nereus scoffed, saying no more. If I had known this would be the result, why bother with the poison? It was utterly superfluous!
