Chapter 414 - Chapter 414: Atlantean Rescue (3)

Chapter 414: Atlantean Rescue (3)

The Fury of the Sea

As the sun set, the sea surface suddenly surged.

The tide rose and the waves swelled. Despite the clear and sunny weather, giant waves climbed into the sky.

Silver-white figures could be vaguely seen darting through the spray. They moved through the currents as if merged with the seawater itself.

The waves climbed higher and higher, unknowingly surpassing thirty meters. The colossal tide blotted out the sun, threatening to swallow the yacht whole.

Luke stood on the deck, watching the scene with an impassive expression.

The ocean was the Atlanteans' home turf. Fighting here, humans had no advantage.

Carol hesitated.

"Should we just release them?"

They weren't afraid of the giant waves, but the yacht was. A wave that size would tear the hull into pieces.

Luke shook his head. "We can release them, but not right now."

Carol understood. The enemy was using intimidation. If they let the prisoners go now, the enemy would think they were weak and easy to bully. Not only would they not back down, but they would press their advantage further.

"What do you plan to do?"

"Catch the ringleader. You protect the yacht, and I'll go grab their boss."

"How do you know who the boss is?"

Luke pointed to the silver-armored female warrior at the crest of the giant wave. "Who else would stand that high if not the boss?"

With that, he leaped into the sea. In mid-air, he merged with the Flotation Armor, leaving a streak of red light as he rapidly shot toward the giant wave.

"He's coming!"

Maria's eyes widened, radiating intense fighting spirit. She spun her trident into a blur, and the seawater, drawn by her control, condensed around the two ends of the weapon, flowing like a vortex.

"Go!"

The water burst, and a current, thick as a giant python, shot out.

Luke sneered, dodged the stream of water, and continued upward. Just then, he heard a rush of air near his ears as three more streams of water shot up from below.

Clang!

The armor was hit by the currents. The endless barrage of impact made Luke frown slightly. He had underestimated his opponents. These Atlanteans' hydrokinetic abilities were truly formidable, turning the ocean current into something resembling artillery shells.

However, that wasn't enough.

The Flotation Armor emitted a faint spatial ripple. Red light flashed across the air, and to the astonishment of all watching, Luke abruptly appeared above the crest of the giant wave.

"Perfect timing!"

Maria leaped up, her trident carrying the radiance of the water's surface as she brought it down with crushing force.

Boom!

Water scattered everywhere. Luke raised his hand to block the trident, not moving an inch. Maria's pupils contracted. She pulled back her trident and swept it horizontally.

Another impact sounded. The trident struck the armor, but the force was absorbed by the plates, causing no damage whatsoever.

Luke curled his finger at her.

"Again!"

Maria landed on the wave, holding her breath, her expression one of unprecedented gravity. She had thought Rola and the others were merely careless to be captured by surface-dwellers, but now she realized that wasn't the case at all.

The enemy was strong. Unusually strong!

Maria took a deep breath and charged toward the sky again. The surrounding seawater was drawn to her, merging with the trident to form a colossal, watery weapon.

"Die!"

Maria roared, channeling all her power into her wrist.

The trident tore through the air, hitting Luke's head with an ear-splitting sonic shriek.

CRASH!

A circular shockwave exploded in the sky. The seawater burst, showering outward like bullets.

The force of that blow was enough to pierce an aircraft carrier, yet Luke remained completely still in mid-air. The Flotation Armor flashed with a blinding red light, its surface particles expanding outward like a blooming flower.

"How is that possible?"

Maria murmured, unable to believe that her full-power strike failed to make her opponent retreat even a single step.

Was the disparity that vast?

At this moment, the Atlanteans hidden in the waves were utterly stunned, staring blankly at the sky. They even forgot to control the seawater. Even Carol, covering her mouth, couldn't hide her shock.

She knew the Flotation Armor was powerful, but she never imagined it was this powerful.

That earth-shattering blow was enough to split mountains and crush stone, yet it caused no damage to the armor.

What on earth did Luke invent? Was this still human technology?

"Your strength is quite good."

Luke reached out and grabbed the cracked trident. With a slight squeeze, BANG! the weapon that had been with Maria's family for hundreds of years shattered into countless fragments.

"Do you want to keep fighting?"

Maria remained silent. Even if she couldn't understand English, she understood Luke's meaning. The confusion in her heart turned into rage, and she charged toward the sky one more time.

"Asking for trouble!"

Luke kicked her toward the sea. Before she could fall, red light flashed. Luke appeared eerily in front of her, landing a heavy punch to her abdomen. Maria spat blood. The force traveled through her body, sending her uncontrollably flying upward.

The red light flashed again, and Maria was instantly redirected.

The repetitive scene played out constantly. She was like a rubber ball, being relentlessly kicked around by the bad-tempered Luke.

After more than a dozen repetitions, Maria could finally bear it no longer and fell unconscious.

Luke casually tossed her onto the deck. He opened his right hand and aimed at the towering giant wave.

The kinetic energy stored in the armor gathered in his palm. A tiny white light abruptly appeared, quickly growing into a basketball-sized energy sphere.

A powerful energy fluctuation radiated outward. With a roar, a fan-shaped pillar of light tore through the air, shooting toward the sky with irresistible force.

The giant wave vanished. The Atlantean soldiers hidden in the seawater were nowhere to be seen. A gap hundreds of meters wide appeared on the sea surface, a corridor of air that extended into the distance until it slowly dissipated at the edge of the horizon.

Carol stared blankly at the scene, completely dumbfounded.

Luke removed the armor and chuckled.

"Isn't your man handsome?"

Carol nodded foolishly.

"The sunset is so beautiful. Do you want to take advantage of the evening glow?"

The girl nodded again, then suddenly snapped back to reality, glaring fiercely at him.

"Don't you dare!"

Luke was instantly speechless.

"These Atlanteans are so annoying. They completely ruined our time together."

"A whole ship full of beautiful women, and I can't touch a single one. This is pure torture."

The King is Alerted

In this operation, Maria had brought a total of seventy Atlantean soldiers. The result was that half were wiped out by a single blast. The remaining soldiers were completely terrified, fleeing in panic while carrying their wounded comrades.

When the news reached the palace, the entire court was shaken.

King Nereus of Xebel, one of the seven kingdoms of the sea, was forced to interrupt his alliance meeting with the Fisherman Kingdom and hurried to the side hall.

"What on earth happened? Where is Maria? Where is she?"

A wounded soldier trembled. "The Captain was... captured by the humans."

At the sound of the word, everyone's expression changed. Maria was the top female warrior of Xebel, yet she had been defeated by a human.

Nereus continued to ask,

"How many people were they?"

"Two."

"Two people defeated all of you?"

"Your Majesty!"

A soldier knelt on one knee, his face contorted in pain. "The human in the strange armor is incredibly powerful. Captain Maria's full-power strike couldn't even make him move. He destroyed the giant wave we created with just one blast. He... he..."

"Enough."

Nereus stopped him, looking around. He frowned.

"Where is Mera? Where is she?"

The guard at the main entrance replied, "Twenty minutes ago, Her Highness left the palace with a group of soldiers and disappeared."

"No good!"

Nereus's face instantly paled. He immediately dispatched personnel to rush toward the surface.
