Chapter 404: The Battle Between Women (1)
The Crone Provokes Linda
Crone stared thoughtfully at the human girl below. For some reason, a vague sense of crisis lingered in her heart and refused to dissipate.
Could she be some bastard left behind by the Old Gods?
Interesting. The first opponent I run into after arriving is this powerful. Earth shouldn't be underestimated!
"Linda, run! Hurry! She's not someone you can handle!"
Siobhan screamed with all her remaining strength. She never imagined the Crone would come to her friend's house.
Linda gritted her teeth. Her body moved in a blur, and she appeared high in the air, level with the Crone.
"Release my friend, or don't blame me for getting rough."
The Crone chuckled, examining the girl before her, then glancing at Siobhan in her hand. Her laughter became more unrestrained.
"This is hilarious, Siobhan, my little dear. Did you know that the ancient book is right there, in the villa below?"
"Poor thing, betrayed by your family, and then deceived by your closest friend. How pitiful. Mommy's heart aches just watching."
Siobhan was stunned, a look of profound disbelief flashing in her eyes.
"Lies! Impossible! You're lying to me again!"
"You'll see for yourself."
The Crone raised her hand, and a three-meter-wide magma fireball instantly formed, plunging downward like a meteor.
Damn it!
Linda flashed forward, intercepting the fireball. With a single punch, she redirected the fireball towards the ocean.
Boom!
The fireball hit the sea surface and exploded instantly. High-temperature heat waves raged across the water, covering an area tens of meters wide. Even from a thousand meters away, the scorching airflow was palpable.
Linda's pupils contracted. If she hadn't stopped it, the villa, along with everyone inside, would have been incinerated by the fireball.
Bastard!
The girl was enraged. Her figure surged, and she threw a powerful punch across the sky.
The flash of the punch tore through the air!
To the Crone's astonishment, it slammed heavily into her face.
Bang!
A shockwave exploded in mid-air. The Banshee Queen, who hadn't been injured in centuries, felt a painful sting in her nose and an urge to cry.
Die!
Another flash of the punch arrived, even stronger than the last. The painful blow to the Crone's arm caused her to instinctively loosen her left hand. Linda flew in immediately, caught the falling Siobhan, and, leaving trails of sonic boom clouds, slammed down in front of the villa's main entrance.
She didn't have time to explain, yelling to the nearby servants,
"Tell the butler to take everyone and leave the villa immediately. Hurry!"
With that, she carried her friend to a nearby hillside, carefully setting her down.
"Wait here. I'll be back once I deal with that tramp."
Siobhan opened her mouth, but her friend had already vanished, streaking towards the sky like a flash of light.
A Battle of Insults and Power
Under the night sky, the demon and the girl faced each other. The Demon Queen was seductively beautiful, her twin horns reaching for the sky. The girl was sweet and delicate, her pajamas flapping wildly.
The Crone's face was grim, her eyes emanating intense wariness and killing intent.
As the Banshee Queen, the Crone wasn't known for close combat, but that didn't mean her body was weak. "Weak" was relative; on Earth, nothing short of a nuclear bomb should be able to harm her.
Yet, this human could injure her with a punch thrown from a distance!
What in Hell is she?
Compared to the Crone's uncertainty, Linda was much simpler.
"By the looks of you, you must be some kind of demon. Why aren't you staying in good old Hell? Are you looking to die?"
Looking to die!
The Crone raised her chin and smiled faintly, "Are you looking down on me?"
She smiled on the outside, but her heart was boiling with murderous rage. A Demon Queen's dignity could not be trampled by a human!
Linda curled her lip dismissively.
"I can tell what trash you are just by your clothes. A woman who is truly powerful doesn't need to go around half-naked. You, running around all day without clothes, afraid people won't notice your few pounds of flesh, must be selling your ass to live."
"Well, am I right?"
The Crone covered her mouth and chuckled, her body shaking wildly and sending waves of flesh rippling.
"Little girl, you're jealous, aren't you? Jealous of my body. I suppose it makes sense—a woman whose chest can't even fill out her pajamas must not have a man!"
Her words, echoing Linda's earlier tone, were sharper and aimed right at Linda's sore spot.
"Looks like I guessed correctly."
The Crone smirked, softly uttering three words: "Little flat-chest!"
"You're asking for it!"
Linda lunged forward. Suddenly, her vision was filled with a red glow as a red lightning bolt struck down at her.
The girl let out a grunt, her body convulsing violently as the lightning hit.
Just then, more red light flashed in the dark clouds. Linda quickly flashed to the side, clenching her five fingers, which glowed faintly.
"Crushing Air Punch!"
Her fist punched through the air, and a flash of power shot out. The nearly materialized energy punch flew at extreme speed. The Crone had no time to react and watched helplessly as the punch slammed into her ample chest.
Even with the fleshy cushion, the force of the blow was agonizing for the Crone. Her body flew backward, sliding for a hundred meters before she stopped.
Linda, having gained the advantage, did not let up, throwing punch after punch.
The energy flashes crisscrossed the sky, carrying the terrifying power to shatter mountains and stone.
The Crone sneered, spreading her wings and rocketing upward. The black clouds descended, enveloping her body. The punches landed in the clouds, like stones dropped into the sea, vanishing in the blink of an eye.
"Don't try to run!"
Linda soared up, but halfway there she was forced to stop. Large patches of red electric light crackled from the inky black clouds. The lightning brewing inside was terrifying, like a heavenly tribulation.
Ordinary lightning was nothing to her, but she was most afraid of this type of lightning infused with magical properties.
A single strike could be excruciating!
"Come out! If you're so strong, don't hide! Why are you hiding like an old turtle?"
Linda shouted insults. The Crone, secretly enraged, fully activated the black clouds. In an instant, thunder roared, and countless red electrical snakes pierced through the clouds, turning the entire mass a blazing crimson.
A terrifying magical fluctuation spread out.
Both Siobhan, lying on the hillside, and the fleeing villa servants felt that world-destroying power.
Linda stopped cursing, her fists tightly clenched, her expression deeply serious. This power sent a chill down her spine; a single mistake could mean death here.
"Magic is the worst," the girl grumbled inwardly. She looked at the sky, then glanced down at the villa. She grit her teeth—she had to do this.
If she truly wanted to run, the lightning couldn't catch her, but Siobhan was still down there, and so was Luke. That guy was always shut up in his underground base researching things; if the lightning struck, it could easily kill him.
"Damn you, Luke Shaw, you owe me one. But... who knows who's going to win anyway?"
Linda, her mind made up, landed on the beach, bent her body low, and placed her right fist near her side.
"Condense!"
With a roar, the ground instantly sank. Vast energy overflowed from her body, making the tide surge and the dust fly.
"Gather!"
With another shout, the surroundings suddenly froze. Sand grains and water droplets bizarrely suspended in mid-air, then began to rotate, circling Linda at an ever-increasing speed.
A hurricane erupted out of nowhere, bending trees and ripping up turf and stones from the ground.
The girl's right hand was glowing, changing from a faint light to white, and from white to red. The light illuminated the sky, clearly visible in the darkness.
The Crone in the black cloud suddenly froze. A powerful sense of crisis enveloped her heart—the feeling of death. She quickly looked down, when suddenly a thunderous roar sounded in her ear:
"Break!"
