Chapter 329: The Sauna Room!
Yvonne's Morning
The bedding was comfortable, soft, and breathable, and the indoor temperature was perfect—ideal for curling up for a nap.
However, Yvonne decided to get up. She couldn't afford to leave an impression of laziness, at least not now.
Wearing her pajamas, she walked into the living room. The elderly butler was setting the table. Breakfast was simple: a glass of fresh milk, a small bowl of fruit salad, and an exquisitely presented sandwich.
Yvonne wasn't particularly interested in breakfast. She strolled over to the window. As she approached, the dark glass automatically became transparent. In the bright sunlight, a beautiful vista of the turquoise sea meeting the blue sky abruptly appeared before her.
"How beautiful!"
Yvonne paused, exclaiming involuntarily,
"What kind of glass is this? Is it new technology?"
The butler smiled. "The young master personally designed the villa's style, furniture, and sculptures. We don't know the specifics, but it must be some kind of new technology!"
"Luke Shaw?"
Yvonne murmured to herself. Remembering the events of the previous night, her legs felt a little weak.
"Where is he?"
"The young master has gone to the company. Before leaving, he instructed us to take good care of you. Please feel free to ask for anything you need."
Yvonne returned to the table and asked casually,
"Does he have a girlfriend?"
"I'm not sure about that, but I can confirm that you are the first girl to appear in this specific bedroom."
The old man told a small lie, but the last statement was technically true—no other girl had stayed in this particular bedroom. The problem was that Headland Villa had many such bedrooms.
Yvonne was secretly delighted, though her expression didn't change. She continued,
"What are his hobbies?"
"The young master is a workaholic. He can go days without coming home when busy, so I'm not clear on his hobbies. However, fine food must be one of them."
Yvonne's eyes immediately dimmed. She didn't even know what a kitchen looked like, so how could she cook?
The butler understood the girl's thoughts but didn't press the issue. He chuckled softly.
"Do you have any other instructions?"
Yvonne waved him off. "No, you may go."
"Enjoy your meal, ma'am."
The butler bowed slightly, left the room, and gently closed the door behind him.
Yvonne sat back on the sofa, feeling lost in thought. Reflecting on everything about Luke Shaw, she sighed. Her father was right—she should find a husband like Luke Shaw. Only he could provide the future she desired.
"Perhaps I should be more proactive," Yvonne muttered, a certain light flashing in her eyes.
Needles and Secrets
Meanwhile, at a high-end club in Metropolis.
Luke, wearing only a loincloth, lay prone in a steam-filled sauna room. Beside him, Wu Yue, similarly dressed, carefully pressed silver needles into the acupoints on his back.
As dozens of silver needles settled, Luke first felt a searing pain, followed by a sensation of cool, flowing comfort.
"Boss, how's my ancestral technique? Feel good, right?"
Luke gave a thumbs-up. "Nice, very nice."
"Of course!"
Wu Yue was smug. "This skill of guiding needles through acupoints was passed down from the number one imperial physician in the Ming Dynasty. In the past, only the Emperor could enjoy this treatment."
Wang Hu watched enviously. He stripped off his towel, revealing his powerful, muscular physique.
"Come on, give me a few needles too! Those two Brazilian girls last night were too wild; my tailbone is tight."
"Get lost! Go sit over there. You don't get any."
"You rotten Wu, are you asking for a beating again?"
Wu Yue sneered coldly. "I've studied Chinese medicine. I saw it the moment you walked in: your steps are wobbly, your pupils are bloodshot, and your eyes are unfocused. It's clear you didn't sleep well and were thoroughly drained this morning. You're a silver-spear, wax-tipped arrow right now. Even without my powers, you're no match for me."
"Hey!"
Wang Hu was completely unconvinced and immediately moved to demonstrate his strength. Unexpectedly, his foot slipped.
Plop!
"Hahahaha!!!!"
Wu Yue clutched his stomach, laughing heartily and heartlessly.
Luke and Dior also had strange looks on their faces, eyes filled with deep amusement.
They were curious about just how "fierce" those Brazilian sisters were to have drained the 180-pound Wang Hu to such an extent.
Wang Hu's face flushed crimson. Ignoring his aching tailbone, he scrambled up and charged towards Wu Yue.
He was going to teach that damned Vietnamese monkey a lesson.
To call him a "silver-spear, wax-tipped arrow"—no man could tolerate that.
The two chased each other around the room. Luke, wrapped in a towel, leaned against the sofa, letting the steam envelop his body. A sauna in winter was truly comfortable.
Dior spoke up.
"Young Master, how do you plan to handle the Genesis Society?"
At the mention of the Genesis Society, Wang Hu, who was still flailing his fists at Wu Yue, stopped and said solemnly,
"Boss, there's something I need to tell you about the Genesis Society."
Luke wiped his face with the towel and said lightly,
"I heard you personally led a team against them and didn't fare well."
"It's those damn police," Wang Hu said, clenching his fist in anger. "Those damned cops planted informants in the Hongmen."
"If there are informants, remove them. It's not the first time."
"This time is different. That informant is not only connected to the police but also to the Genesis Society."
"Oh!"
Luke was interested. "Double agent?"
Wang Hu nodded heavily, his expression unusually grim. "I followed the lead and found that the Genesis Society has a very close relationship with the Metropolis Police, especially the East and North Precincts. Their mode of interaction is very similar to the Young Master's Gang and the Star City Police. Lex Luthor is behind it."
Luke put down his towel and said solemnly,
"Is Lex Luthor the one controlling the Genesis Society?"
"That's right, it's that baldy. Without his help, the Genesis Society would never have grown to this scale in just a few years. It's become a rock blocking the Hongmen's path. If we want to advance, we have to eliminate it."
"How many conflicts have you had?"
"Seven or eight, large and small."
Luke was silent for a moment, then slowly said, "Hold back for now. Don't engage with them."
Wang Hu's eyes lit up. "Boss, you have a plan?"
Luke slightly shook his head.
"It's not that simple. The Genesis Society is nothing. The difficult one to deal with is Lex Luthor. The Luthor family is deeply rooted in Metropolis, with extensive connections in both the political and business spheres. To take him down, we need thorough preparation." He paused, then smiled.
"Trust me, things will change soon."
A New Alliance
Many things change quietly. Just like Sam Lane—he used to be like a general with absolute power when dealing with Lex Luthor. Now, the tables have turned, and he has become the passive one.
Luthor extended his hand and shook Sam Lane's firmly.
"General, I'm delighted you accepted my invitation. Compared to the obscure Director Ruby, I much prefer to collaborate with you, because we are the same kind of people."
"Come, please follow me. I have an incomparable weapon to show you."
