The Going Merry was docked at the coast. Luffy had already returned, and the crew sat on the deck discussing what to do next.
"Aow, aow…"
Franky suddenly jumped onto the Merry and said, "Aren't these the Straw Hat lads?"
Sanji immediately stood up.
"Franky, we haven't even settled the score for what you did to Usopp, and you dare show your face here!"
Nami added, "And my money too."
Zoro, who had been sitting nearby, drew his sword without hesitation.
Franky raised his hands casually.
"Let's not talk about the past. As for your money, I spent it all. SUPER!"
He struck his "coolest" pose.
Duang!
Franky was punched straight in the head by Sandy, who had walked out from behind him.
"Everyone, this guy is a cyborg with wires loose in his brain. Please understand," Sandy said.
"What are you saying, bastard!!" Franky roared.
Luffy stood up next.
"Franky, what are you doing here?"
Franky pointed at Sandy.
"Didn't he tell me to come?"
Sandy sighed, "Now's not the time to talk about grudges. There's a big storm coming tonight. We need to move the ship somewhere safe.
And since the whole city's hunting us, we can't just leave the Merry here to be smashed by the tide."
Zoro asked, "You have a plan?"
Sandy shook his head.
"No plan. But Franky does. Hey, Franky! Stop posing and help us move the ship already!"
Usopp hesitated, "Is he… is he reliable?"
Franky puffed out his chest.
"Hey, young man. I'm the SUPER man of Water 7. Leave it to me."
Soon, Franky led them to his secret base — an underground warehouse.
Staring at the Merry, Franky clicked his tongue.
"Your ship's already beyond repair. Just scrap it. Why is it still here?"
Luffy replied firmly, "Now's not the time to say goodbye to the Merry. We'll wait until Robin comes back and all of us are together."
Hearing that, Franky immediately began to "cry."
"Wuwu… so touching... No! I'm not crying! Not crying at all!"
Sanji yelled, "Why are you crying?! It's all because of you, bastard!"
Chopper grabbed Sanji's coat.
"Calm down!"
Franky ignored him, plopped down on the floor, pulled out a guitar from God-knows-where, and said, "Listen to my song—'Pirate Benevolence.'"
"Hahaha!" Luffy doubled over laughing. "This guy is so weird! Franky, are you a musician?"
"A musician?" Franky blinked.
Bang!
He threw the guitar aside.
"No! The great me is a SUPER man! The rogue big brother of Water 7!"
Sandy waved lazily.
"Don't mind that idiot. I'm gonna take a nap. Stayed up too late last night. Wake me if anything happens…"
By dusk, Sandy woke up naturally.
Walking out of his room, he saw only Usopp keeping watch by the ship.
"Huh? Usopp, where is everyone?"
Usopp blinked, "Didn't you go out with Luffy and the others?"
"Me?" Sandy frowned. "I literally told them to wake me up! Why did no one call?!"
Usopp sighed, "You know Luffy. He can't sit still. Before sunset, he ran out with Zoro and the others."
"Fine, fine…" Sandy muttered. "The storm outside is huge. You're still injured, so stay here. And where's Franky?"
"I don't know," Usopp said.
"Alright. Just be careful. CP9 is lurking around. Don't wander off."
Sandy headed outside.
He didn't remember every tiny detail of the original timeline, but he did know CP9 would take Robin away tonight.
Since he was a Straw Hat now, he couldn't sit still.
Elsewhere…
Inside Iceberg's office, the man was already wounded — and now he'd been shot again. Barry, who had discovered the scene, desperately tried to protect his mentor.
CP9's approach was simple:
Eliminate all witnesses. Absolute justice.
Barry was struck by multiple Finger Pistols, his life hanging by a thread — until Zoro broke in to stop the killing.
Zoro clashed with Kaku, and surprisingly, Kaku had the advantage.
Nearby, Luffy confronted Lucci.
"Shave!"
Lucci suddenly appeared in front of Luffy. Before Luffy could react, Lucci grabbed him by the head.
"Damn it! Let go of me!" Luffy yelled, throwing punches. "Give Robin back! And don't hurt Iceberg!"
Zoro, distracted by Luffy's situation, slipped up.
Kaku seized the moment and struck Zoro with three Finger Pistols, taking him out temporarily.
Lucci then slammed Luffy into the floor.
"No way! Luffy was taken down that fast?"
"Zoro! Are you okay?!"
Nami and Chopper panicked helplessly.
Barry, gasping, asked in despair, "What kind of monsters are you?!"
Lucci replied coldly, "Our environment is different. We in CP9 resolved to give our lives to the World Government since childhood. Through years of brutal training, we mastered the six superhuman martial arts: the Six Styles."
He continued, "You four Pirates are nothing compared to agents trusted with state secrets."
He smiled coldly.
"But since you're about to die anyway, I'll show you something interesting."
Lucci activated the Cat-Cat Fruit, Model: Leopard.
"This… this is bad!"
"A carnivorous Zoan type—its brutality skyrockets!"
"That's right," Lucci said.
"Among Logia, Zoan, and Paramecia, Zoan-types excel in physical enhancement. Combining that with training, their power multiplies. In raw attack power, Zoans are the strongest."
Barry staggered forward, still bleeding.
"Stop talking, monster. I won't let you lay another finger on Iceberg!"
Lucci's expression hardened.
"Our time is precious."
"Shave!"
"Barry—!!" Luffy shouted.
But Lucci was too fast.
Bang!
CRASH!
The windows shattered from the impact.
"Who is it?" Lucci growled.
Blocking his strike—
was Sandy.
"Sandy!!" Nami and Chopper shouted in relief.
Sandy cracked his neck lazily.
"You guys said you'd wake me up. Why the hell didn't anyone call?"
Then he glared at Lucci.
"And you… damn oversized cat. You looking for death?"
Lucci's leopard eyes narrowed dangerously.
A new battle was about to begin.
