She shared live video from a scout. The scout approached the mine, using the fog for cover. In the footage, I saw Lin Chen with two girls, one of whom is Xia Yang, and another whose name I didn't know. They stood in front of an ancient gate. When Lin Chen touched the gate, it opened, pulling all three of them inside.
I could only say one thing: "Damn, they've already entered the treasure's location." I barely had a few minutes before Lin Chen emerged with his powerful sword. I quickly spoke into the radio, "Tiger and Thunder, move fast. We're losing the target. Use high caliber and take out the Raven. Leave everything else to me."
After that, I climbed down from the tree where I had been hiding. I put away my sniper because I needed to act quickly. While Lu Xiaoran and Roman dealt with ordinary guards, I was going to handle the ones in black robes using my hands. I didn't have time to play sniper anymore.
I moved quickly. The fog had spread throughout the forest, reducing visibility to almost nothing. People couldn't even see a face five meters away or a person ten meters away. The fog would only get thicker, making things even harder to see.
This environment worked perfectly for us. We could rescue the villagers without anyone noticing. I gave new orders to Lu Xiaoran and Roman.
Vik: "This is Snake. There's a change in the plan. Thunder and Tiger, head for the mine and rescue the villagers. Robot, send the Chariots to the mine's location. I'll deal with the guards in black robes while Thunder and Tiger handle the regular ones. Over."
I got immediate responses.
Lu Xiaoran: "Copy that, moving towards the mine."
Roman: "Copy that."
Robot: "Copy that. Deploying Chariot 2-10. They'll reach the location in 10 minutes, so you have only 10 minutes to secure the landing area."
I paid close attention to Lina's words. We needed to secure a safe landing for the Chariots. I increased my speed toward the main base tent. It looked like the headquarters from which the guards received their orders. Only one black-robed guard was there, as the rest had gone to other locations, most of them with Lin Chen.
In moments, I reached the main base, avoiding most obstacles. At the back gate, I saw a black-robed man waiting for me. When he spotted me, he said, "You must be the creator of this mist. I'm Sword Two. This place now belongs to the Lin Family. If you want to live, get out before I change my mind."
He folded his arms confidently while smiling. I could see he was a young man, different from the old man, and stronger than him. Without waiting for him to continue, I responded, "No, you can't do anything to me as long as I have this medicine. Just wait. After I consume it, I'll reclaim my cultivation, even in the heaven suppressing zone."
His expression shifted to alertness as I pulled out a small package from my pocket. Just before I opened it, two shadows attacked me. They were more black-robed figures, and one of them snatched the package from me.
I fought back against the two attackers with brute force, pushing them away. Now, with four of them back together, they smiled at me.
One of them tried to open the package. I shouted in fear, "Don't open it! That's my medicine, you thief."
They just laughed as the guy opened it. A metallic ping rang out as he pulled a pin. Inside, he only found some round objects connected to the pin, which released when he opened the box. He realized something was wrong.
His companion urged, "Why are we wasting time? Let's see what kind of medicine can disperse this damn fog."
The other three closed in around him, peering at the box. I silently counted down from six: one, two, three, four, five, six, and then boom.
Boom!
A massive explosion erupted as the grenades in the box detonated. The guy holding it was obliterated, and his companions suffered too. They thought hiding and ambushing me would work, but they were wrong. Now, I had no time to waste. Only two black-robed figures were left, guarding the door inside the mine.
I approached the bodies of the fallen. One black-robed guard was still alive but severely injured from the explosion. I aimed my sniper at his chest, but the bullet only grazed him. I then realized they only received minor damage from bullets, as he still showed signs of strength from foundational cultivation. To finish him, I fired five more shots to his head, killing him.
I was sure these people were resistant to bullets but could still be killed by grenade explosions.
I entered the main base and confirmed it was indeed the headquarters. I moved through the building, taking down anyone who got in my way. Soon, I reached a room filled with monitors. This was their control room. I scared the people inside and told them to make an announcement. There were speakers throughout the mine for this purpose.
They announced, "Attention everyone, every guard. This is an emergency. Escort every miner towards the mine. After gathering everyone in one place, get away from them and stand before the gate of catacombs to guard it."
Hearing this, every guard moved quickly, pushing the villagers toward the designated area. This made my job much easier. I didn't have to find them one by one. The villagers moved in a group toward an open field in the mine where Lu Xiaoran and Roman were hiding behind bushes. Most of the guards headed toward the large gate at the catacombs, giving me a clear shot at them.
Now it was time to bring out the heavy firepower.
