Chapter 502 - Chapter 466: The Safest Place

Since I don't know what's happening with Batman and Superman, Su Ming starts asking the Teen Titans about the situation on Earth.

The Justice League did what during those times underwater and in the cosmos.

Megan gave him the answer: rescue and rebellion.

The rescue missions went relatively smoothly; there are still quite a few people who haven't turned into fish and they are all located on dry high ground.

But the rebellion plan completely failed; Superman was beaten half to death by that Sea God just moments ago, Barry got infected and turned into a Fish-Man, and other heroes mostly perished except for the tier-three heroes maintaining order on high ground.

Su Ming took a deep breath; he knew Batman's risky multi-line plan would not lead to any good outcomes.

Fortunately, his drainage plan worked; now the earth's sea level has reached a controllable dynamic equilibrium.

No matter how much seawater the aliens pour in, the Giant Statue on the Origin Wall will urinate out the same amount.

Even though he knew his enemies were up against three Sea Gods, Su Ming wasn't really nervous.

The enemy's water cannot appear out of thin air without a source; at most, it's just the oceans of the enemy's three planets.

In other words, there's temporarily no danger of Earth being submerged.

Su Ming briefly explained the situation of the sea to a few uninformed individuals, He only said Earth wouldn't sink, and that he solved the problem.

Not a word about how he did it.

The Titans, skeptical, ran to the side of the ship to carefully observe Earth, and after a short while, Megan confirmed the water level was no longer rising.

"Great, that's the best news I've heard today." Raven smiled as she wiped off tears; she felt much lighter now.

Especially since Deathstroke didn't hold the sword to their necks and even solved Earth's problem.

Donna looked at him deeply, but finally lowered her head to knock her shield, trying to fix the dent inflicted by the Alien Sea God.

Beast Boy nodded emotionally: "Deathstroke, looks like I misunderstood you; you're not a bad guy after all."

Su Ming gave this joker a glance, absolutely refusing to give him any opportunity for making jokes or playing tricks.

"No, you didn't misunderstand."

"???"

Watching the Green Hide ape completely puzzled, Su Ming felt delightfully uplifted.

Ignoring the clueless Beast Boy, he walked up to Donna: "What was the original mission Batman gave you?"

"Uh... rescue."

Donna looked at the shield surface, examined the arrow symbol on it, and softly replied.

Once again, the Titans disregarded Batman's command and chose to act on their own accord.

As the temporary captain, Donna felt very ashamed, not to mention they lost a team member, Gass.

She thought Deathstroke would definitely blame her because of the Titans' reckless defiance.

To her surprise, Deathstroke patted her shoulder, looking very pleased and smiled, offering her bandages for wrapping and even helped fix her shield.

"Good job, you did right not listening to Batman!"

Donna: "???"

Is this even possible? Openly opposing Batman?

Megan immediately protested; her uncle told her to follow Batman's words, and besides, Batman has been striving for the world.

Yet Deathstroke's mysterious action style makes it completely unfeasible for others to cooperate.

With the Shadow Contract, Su Ming was confident enough to confront Luthor; why bother having other irrelevant people cooperate?

"Think for yourself, what's the situation of those following Batman's orders now?" Su Ming leisurely bit his cigarette, squatting on the ground using the Godslayer morphing into a hammer to continually repair Donna's shield.

Megan stuttered for a moment, indeed, those heroes following Batman's direction almost all became fish.

Superman lost his superpower, Barry became half-Fish-Man, the powerful heroes have all met their fate.

If the Titans hadn't acted independently and gone to the cosmos, but stayed on the ground to rescue or confront aliens, they would probably have all perished by now.

Only losing Gass and the squad remained intact; it's already a blessing in unfortunate circumstances.

The Titans Squad was valued because they were still somewhat useful to Deathstroke; during battles, Raven and Megan were beneficial, and outside battles, Steel Armor was most useful.

Bo Bo was smart; he could easily handle alien equipment, but science has branches, and Steel Armor's accomplishments in physics and computing surpassed Bo Bo's.

The Gorilla only needed to keep helping in watching phones, carrying bags, and piloting spaceship.

"Get it? Batman's orders will only put you in a pit; although there's nothing wrong with rescuing, you need a method." Su Ming proudly knocked the shield a few times, fixing it before handing it back to Donna: "You ask Eve and Laurie, wasn't their action with me risk-free and enjoyable?"

Under Megan's questioning gaze, Eve and Laurie thought about many things.

Danger? Indeed, none; Deathstroke's reputation as Earth's strongest mercenary was genuine, regardless of what the enemy was, this mighty warrior stood at the forefront.

But enjoyable?

Surrounded by terrifying groups of monsters at the sea bottom, then summoned to talk with an oversized monster from the magic concept, and even forced them to watch a Giant Statue urinate on the Origin Wall...

What's enjoyable here?

However, the fact remains that now everyone cannot contact Batman, and Deathstroke as the tactical and strategic master was the only choice for leadership.

So both Eve, and Laurie, who restored her original form after separating from Eve, nodded.

Blue Demon's thoughts were more straightforward.

The one stopping Earth's sea level from rising is Deathstroke; the one who came here to rescue the little ones is still Deathstroke; the one who repelled the alien gods is once again Deathstroke.

Is there anything else to consider? Continue following him, and the hope of saving Earth won't seem so slim.

Of course, he turned to look at the spaceship bridge at the end of the corridor behind him. Through those large portholes, he could only see that Earth has now become a purple water planet.

Blue Demon was somewhat doubtful whether people like them were capable of fixing this mess?

Su Ming wasn't too concerned about Megan's opinion; Donna was definitely on his side, so the Titans were inescapable.

Megan wasn't a member of the Titans; appearing here meant she must have been sent by Batman as a babysitter. Since the Titans followed Deathstroke, even if she didn't want to, she'd have to come along.

Otherwise, she would be disobeying Batman.

And over here, it's Su Ming who has the final say; the rule is 'obedience to orders,' if you don't like it, don't play.

As for the team's ideological development issues...

There's Little Fortune Ape and Harley, one can talk reason, the other can joke around, soon everyone would be enjoying themselves.

And Gass, the most difficult one... rumor has it that he just fell down, that's one less obstacle.

The situation is now very simple.

Deathstroke is leading the Shadow Contract Team to save the world, and you Titans... are you coming or not?

............

Even if Megan doesn't use her wise brain, just seeing the determination in Donna's eyes, she knows there's no stopping the Titans from following Deathstroke.

A person who saved them at a dangerous moment naturally earns a lot of goodwill, even the Titans' fear of the dark-yellow seems to have been cured.

The green-skinned young woman secretly sighed.

"Phew... All right, we will follow your command, now what should we do? Where do we go on Earth?"

"Why go back to Earth?" Su Ming asked back. As he spoke, he casually opened the cabin door next to the corridor and peeked inside.

"Uh... because it's not safe here?" Megan thought for a moment and asked tentatively.

"Wrong, this is the safest place."

Su Ming saw the cabin full of frozen fish, squinted his eyes, and closed the door again, shaking his head at Megan.

"But we're currently surrounded by the enemy fleet."

Mars Girl was completely puzzled; she still didn't quite understand this human mindset.

Indeed, under normal circumstances, she and Ron could use mind-reading, so psychology didn't seem like a reliable skill.

But now, psychic telepathy was ineffective, so it's back to primitive methods, and she still didn't guess what that Sea God was thinking.

Su Ming led them back to the bridge, ordering Garfield to clean up the bodies.

"Throw them into space or eat them, it's up to you."

Garfield shivered; even though the aliens have fish-like faces, they also have limbs and bodies and intelligence, it's not right to eat them, right?

The fear of Deathstroke immediately returned to his mind, silently dragging the bodies up and throwing them out of the big hole that Gass had smashed through.

Seeing him tremble as he worked, Su Ming ordered Steel Armor to dismantle some walls or doors inside the ship to patch the big hole in the floor and restore the ship's flying ability.

Once they were all executing orders, Su Ming turned and sat in the captain's chair, pressed the helmet on his knee, rested the Great Sword beside the chair, and responded to Megan, who already seemed impatient.

"Like you said, we are surrounded by the enemy fleet, and there are tens of thousands of large-caliber laser or plasma weapons aimed at us... So why aren't they firing?"

If previously they didn't fire because their god was on this ship, then now with Zhen Hai gone, they have a thousand reasons to open fire and turn this ship into a space fireworks.

But why aren't they firing?

Megan frowned and began to think.

Su Ming wasn't interested in her guesses and ordered Eve and Laurie to thoroughly inspect the ship for enemies, and told Blue Demon to use Hell Magic to contact Banshee and notify Bo Bo to bring others up to space to rendezvous.

"Because we have hostages."

"Hostages?"

"To be precise, they are 'fish hostages,' those frozen fish."

Su Ming gestured for her to look in the corridor; almost every cabin on the ship was a cold storage room, each filled with fish.

Mars Girl had X-ray vision, and could see without moving, indeed it was as Deathstroke said.

She seemed to understand a bit.

To Earthlings, the first reaction to seeing frozen fish is food, convenient for transport.

The premise is that these fish are dead.

However, alien technology is not like this. Even on Mars, a planet without water, they have advanced freezing technology that can keep life while placing organisms in a dormant state.

Constant temperature freezing chamber technology is the basis for a civilization to achieve large-scale, long-distance space travel.

It's just that these sea race freezing chambers seem a bit savage and brutal.

Those fish frozen into ice blocks are alive, and although it's unknown what these alien fish are, undoubtedly they have profound significance to the aliens.

So Deathstroke said they are hostages and unhesitatingly used them as a shield, and that's the truth, the opponent's fleet simply doesn't dare to fire.

This transport ship is the safest place in the world right now.
