Chapter 163 - Chapter 162: The Conspiracy Emerges

Chapter 162: The Conspiracy Emerges

The Father of Nova's third eye, high on his forehead, pulsed with dazzling blue light as he roared madly.

A torrent-like psychic beam erupted, surging directly toward the Imperial soldiers' position. Those soldiers who couldn't dodge were engulfed by the beam, instantly turning into charcoal. Their very souls were torn apart and scattered into fragments in the air.

The Custodians attempted to suppress him with heavy weapons, but the Father of Nova agilely flipped in mid-air, his massive body appearing eerily light. Each flap of his wings stirred up a storm, deflecting bullets and cannon shells.

Some brave soldiers tried to approach him, only to be brutally stomped into the ground by his enormous toad-like feet. With a horrifying crunch, they and their armor were crushed into a bloody, indistinguishable mess.

Seeing him act so, and the Emperor still not appearing, he knew the Emperor was truly in a deep slumber!

His lips curved slightly. As long as the Webway was destroyed, the Imperium would have no choice but to rely on them.

"You have already committed treason! Are you trying to delude yourselves now? I've long found you toads an eyesore." Malcador muttered.

His body suddenly erupted with an energy wave that sent dozens of Blanks flying, crashing directly into the ruins' walls, then falling to the ground like discarded rags.

The thought of spending the Imperium's resources to feed such a group of toads made him feel utterly disgusted.

His hand, like an eagle's talon, snatched up a fallen Knight Titan. The colossal machine was still spewing black smoke, but for Malcador, it was as easy as picking up a twig.

In the distance, the Father of Nova hovered in mid-air, his third eye glowing with blue radiance. "I've long heard that you are the strongest psyker beneath the Emperor! Today, we shall see who is stronger!"

He witnessed this scene, a faint smile appearing on his toad-like face.

Malcador said nothing but lifted the Knight Titan high in his hand, then hurled it fiercely toward the Father of Nova in the air like a colossal stone.

A piercing whistle echoed through the air as the massive machine, like a meteor, streaked toward its target.

The Father of Nova instantly spread his wings and soared higher. His third eye suddenly opened wide. A blue warp energy beam gushed forth, meeting the incoming machine.

Boom!

The moment the light and the machine collided, the entire battlefield was engulfed in dazzling brilliance. The explosion's shockwave overturned everything around it, blasting a massive crater in the ground.

"You three-eyed toad! You do have some skill!" Malcador stood firm against the aftershocks of the explosion, his voice icy cold.

"I find you rather unremarkable. The Imperial Regent is nothing special. I'd like to ask you, since we reached an agreement, why are you still building the Webway? Is the Imperium trying to discard us after using us?" The Father of Nova flapped his wings in mid-air, mocking with a sharp voice.

"Hmph! Short-sighted fools! You simply don't understand the great things the Emperor intends to accomplish! He thinks about the fate of all humanity! And you are nothing but maggots constantly gnawing at the Imperium's flesh!" Malcador grabbed another piece of wreckage, raising his hand threateningly.

"These are not our concerns! We only want to destroy the Webway! If you destroy it, we will still assist the Imperium in its crusades! Otherwise, we will have to take matters into our own hands." The Father of Nova sneered, waving his scepter to release a circle of psychic fluctuations.

"Haha! The Emperor did not despise your physical mutations and even granted you the position of High Lord! Yet you only use this as capital to amass wealth and harm the loyal!"

"Not to mention how wasteful your inbreeding practices are, let's talk about the warp exploration issue that the Emperor has repeatedly warned against. Not only did you not listen, but you intensified your efforts and caused multiple disasters!"

"Now, just because you won't have a monopoly, you're going to commit treason! You're worse than a rogue beast!" Malcador roared, charging again at the Father of Nova. The ground behind him even cracked from his power.

Hearing this, the Father of Nova stammered for a moment. "You... You..."

"What 'you'! You are simply scum!" Malcador shouted.

"You... You..."

"You are simply a disgrace to humanity!"

"You... I..."

The Father of Nova continuously released warp-energy rays, but his face grew redder and redder, completely flustered.

Seeing this, Malcador realized his opportunity had come and loudly rebuked him. "I have never seen such a shameless person!"

Suddenly, the Father of Nova felt a pain in his chest, spitting out a large mouthful of blood, and swayed precariously. "You! Pfft!"

The Imperial soldiers who witnessed this scene all looked at Malcador with adoration, marveling that he could severely injure an enemy without even using psychic powers.

He was too powerful!

"Lord Malcador is truly an Imperial hero!"

"Lord Malcador is working too hard! Charge! Ease his burden!"

"Yes! If you want to harm Lord Malcador, you'll have to step over our corpses first!"

The Solar Auxilia on-site roared, all charging fearlessly. They didn't care about the radiation damage to themselves; they fired madly.

At that moment, Malcador's figure blurred instantly, transforming into a golden flash and teleporting dozens of meters away.

With a wave of his hand, psychic energy pulled several out-of-control Knight Titans into the air like meteors. With a roaring sound of tearing air, they slammed down hard on the Father of Nova.

Bang! Bang! Bang!

A series of loud crashes echoed. The Father of Nova was caught off guard and beaten by the machines.

His psychic shield shattered. His body was thrown backward like a rag doll.

He crashed through several ruined walls, falling into a pile of burning rubble, rolling and struggling to stand. His eyes blazed with fury.

Just then, the synchronized sound of horns and the tremor of heavy armor treading the ground came from afar. The Salamanders Legion had finally arrived!

Warriors adorned with flame patterns marched forth in formation, their heavy armor gleaming in the firelight. They wielded flamers, and huge gouts of flame surged forth, like roaring fire dragons, sweeping toward the Father of Nova.

"For the Emperor! For Terra!" The Salamanders warriors roared. The spewing flames distorted the surrounding air.

Thick black smoke rose from the ground. The Father of Nova struggled to flap his wings, attempting to fly away, but the intense flames had already engulfed him.

Malcador's eyes lit up at the sight. He manipulated the towering flames into a massive fiery tornado, trapping the opponent within it. H

e was like a maestro constantly conducting, performing his unique symphony of fire.

He was terrifyingly powerful!

But things were not favorable beyond Terra.

The sky of the hive world Endin was so gloomy it seemed to foretell the coming apocalypse. Green tides of Orks poured into every alley, plaza, and industrial facility. Their cackles and screams echoed through the ruined city.

Ork spores devoured every inch of Endin's land. The defenders of the hive city watched with tears in their eyes as the world they had sworn to defend was polluted entirely until their last breath.

"For the Emperor! For Endin!" After a tragic cry, the defender commander pressed the activation button.

Immediately, the green surface was torn apart by explosions. Countless toxic clouds rose, covering the entire planet's atmosphere.

The Orks' cackles were instantly replaced by suffocating howls, finally fading into deadly silence.

The Imperial fleet in high orbit only witnessed Endin consumed by toxic fire, eventually becoming a barren, desolate, charred world.

On the fortress world of Necromunda, one of the Imperial Fists' primary recruiting worlds, the sky was now shrouded in a green miasma caused by Ork spores. Once magnificent fortresses and sacred chapels were now battle-scarred ruins.

"Waaaaaagh!"

"Waaaaaaagh!"

The cackles of Ork mobs mingled with the roar of war drums, echoing between the broken walls.

Yet, amidst this chaotic scene, Rogal Dorn's figure stood like an unyielding mountain.

On Necromunda's highest wall, Dorn's golden power armor gleamed in the firelight. His stern gaze swept across the battlefield, witnessing the tidal assault of the Orks.

"I am Rogal Dorn! Warriors of Imperial Fists, reclaim our recruiting grounds! Purify every inch of desecrated land with Emperor's wraith!" His voice resonated like an earthquake.

Under the High Wall Protocol, the Imperial Fists, once divided into Successor Chapters, had reassembled.

Black Templars, Crimson Fists, Imperial Fists, each divided legion Chapter, plunged into this desperate counterattack.

In the center of the battlefield, a line of massive flamers was slowly pushed to the front line. Flames spewed from the launchers, forming a dazzling orange sea, incinerating the Ork forces into ashes.

Those Orks who tried to break through the sea of fire screamed and fell, their bodies consumed by the flames. Even the airborne spores were completely purified.

Dozens of Orks riding giant war beasts charged an Imperial stronghold. Dorn personally led a squad of Terminator-armored warriors, sallying forth from the fortress's flank.

His power fist shattered the head of an Ork war beast with one blow, then he swung Storm's Teeth at the surrounding enemies. Green blood gushed forth.

"Necromunda will not yield! The Emperor's wrath will burn away all your desecrations!" He roared, determined to reclaim this vital recruiting world.

He didn't understand why their request for technical assistance from the Adeptus Mechanicus had been refused.

Meanwhile, in a dimly lit laboratory, Adeptus Mechanicus Biologis Aierton Uchidex rapidly tapped on a data terminal. The screen flashed with classified experimental records.

These records exposed a shocking truth! It was specific secret experiments by the Adeptus Mechanicus, aimed at reverse-engineering Ork technology, that led to these catastrophic Ork invasions.

Aierton's breathing was heavy. He knew the danger of this information.

He clutched the data-slate, quickly sending an encrypted signal to his internal communicator, targeting Officio Assassinorum Master Dracan Vancorich.

"Lord Vancorich." His voice was laced with unease.

"I have an urgent discovery. This Ork invasion is not accidental, but caused by experiments conducted by certain individuals within the Adeptus Mechanicus. We must take action to stop these experiments from continuing..."

Before he could finish, the laboratory lights suddenly went out. A low hum of mechanical devices filled the air, then a blinding red light illuminated the doorway.
