Everything came to me in a tangled mess of confusion. For more than one minute, I was sure I just sat there staring at the last checkpoint where I had seen Nisha.
The sky was sinisterly dark and cloudy, the snow seemed restless, and it was more than just the battle that was happening a few meters behind me. The wind was also tense, but at the same time, it seemed frightened, sweeping across different directions in either confusion or fear.
Amidst it all, I stood there… motionless.
Lady Ilse came to me. She was standing alone with an ever-fierce look on her face.
"I am here to support you. So whatever your command is, I'm waiting."
She glanced towards Tristan's battle.
"Although we just had one hell of a bout, I doubt we will be able to come out of this one unscathed."
She turned back to me and squinted her eyes.
"Just who are you? How are you, a stranger I had never heard of, getting mixed up with all of this? How?"
My gaze drifted from Nisha's last position towards her.
