As Kushina was striving to become a competent Jinchuriki, Namikaze Minato didn't want her to worry too much.
In contrast, when writing to Mokgetsu, Namikaze Minato had fewer reservations.
It's not that he felt Mokgetsu's worries were insignificant, rather he considered that if anything happened to him during the war, Mokgetsu could take care of Kushina.
Despite being a renowned young expert in the Ninja World, Namikaze Minato dared not claim he'd definitely survive post-war.
Several Kage had perished at the hands of ninja squads, and Namikaze Minato did not believe he had surpassed the Second Hokage.
Meanwhile, in the western Land of Grass.
Upon seeing the ninja squad advancing earnestly, Rekiseki's face broke into a smile.
"Lord Rekiseki, the support troops have arrived. There are a total of eight hundred ninjas, including seven Jonin and twelve Special Jonin..." Firelight reported solemnly as he approached Rekiseki.
Rekiseki nodded with a grin.
"Eight hundred support troops, plus my squad of twelve hundred ninjas—that makes a two thousand strong ninja squad. Jiraiya, how do you plan to fight me?" Rekiseki thought excitedly.
If Jiraiya's ninja squad remained unchanged, it should consist of around a thousand.
Two thousand against one thousand—the advantage was his; Rekiseki could not fathom losing.
Additionally, with orders from the high command, Rekiseki was already thinking about their plans once they invaded the Land of Fire territory.
Rekiseki swiftly convened a meeting to discuss plans to crush the Konoha ninja squad.
Even though they had superior numbers, a mere chaotic rush wouldn't suffice—they needed a strategic approach.
Perhaps the Hidden Rock ninjas had been suppressed for too long, leading to a sudden surge in power, or it was due to Rekiseki's adept leadership, or perhaps other factors.
In any case, the battlefield in the Land of Grass had unexpectedly reversed its situation.
The Konoha assassination squad was swiftly neutralized, and the Hidden Rock's intelligence units repeatedly claimed victories, securing significant intelligence on the Konoha forces.
...
Morning, Land of Fire.
Konoha, Southern Border Forest.
"Aside from Kakashi and Guy, everyone else gather here." Mokgetsu summoned his disciples.
"We won't engage in our usual cultivation this morning; I want to teach you a new Secret Technique." Mokgetsu explained.
The reason for not summoning Might Guy and Kakashi was that Might Guy was still pondering over the Yin Attribute Chakra Nature Changes, learning Armament Haki.
Compared to Observation Haki, Armament Haki was undoubtedly more useful to Might Guy.
Kakashi possessed the Transparent World ability, which partially overlapped with the capabilities of Observation Haki, and due to his Chakra being overly strained, it wasn't suitable for him to learn now.
Upon hearing Mokgetsu's words, his disciples, including Shisui and Obito, quickly assembled before Mokgetsu.
"It's a type of Yin Attribute Chakra Nature Changes; it can be considered a Perception Ninjutsu. However, compared to regular Perception Ninjutsu, it has remarkable capabilities in combat, akin to the Transparent World." Mokgetsu introduced.
"So many new ninja techniques recently." Obito remarked excitedly.
Mokgetsu had taught Super Fire Release Green Flame, and a Flame Vortex had been sent over from the Ninja Sect; now Mokgetsu planned to teach a new Secret Technique.
"Essentially, it allows you to sense and predict incoming attacks. Shisui, activate your Sharingan and try attacking me with all your might." Mokgetsu prepared for a combat demonstration.
Being called out, Shisui nodded, focusing his Chakra on his eyes; the crimson blood color soon spread across his eyes, revealing the Three Tomoe Sharingan.
"Teacher Mokgetsu, I'm coming." Shisui alerted, before unleashing his Chakra and rushing towards Mokgetsu.
Facing Shisui's oncoming assault, Mokgetsu made a move that surprised the others—he closed his eyes.
"Secret Technique: Observation!"
Mokgetsu's Chakra surged within him, sharpening his perception to an extraordinary degree.
"Leaf Whirlwind!"
Though slightly perplexed by Mokgetsu's closed eyes, Shisui didn't hesitate, swiftly kicking out a Tornado Kick.
With eyes closed, Mokgetsu seemed to possess an intangible eye, merely sidestepping to precisely avoid Shisui's Tornado Kick, with Shisui's shoe sole grazing just two centimeters before Mokgetsu's hem, the wind from the kick swaying Mokgetsu's hem.
Shisui's expression remained unchanged as he rapidly swung his fist towards Mokgetsu's abdomen.
Mokgetsu swiftly retreated a small step, causing Shisui's punch to miss.
"Observation allows you to detect attacks not visible to your line of sight," Mokgetsu explained.
It's an exceptionally useful ability—with Observation, even in chaotic battle scenes with numerous opponents, one can maximize self-protection.
Mokgetsu then opened his eyes, signaling Shisui to continue his attack.
"Next, you'll throw a left punch, followed by a Tornado Kick..." Mokgetsu foretold Shisui's next move while dodging.
Shisui seemed like Mokgetsu's puppet, doing exactly as Mokgetsu predicted.
Of course, everyone present knew it wasn't that Shisui intentionally followed Mokgetsu's commands; rather, Mokgetsu anticipated all of Shisui's attacks.
Even if Shisui wanted to follow Mokgetsu's instructions, he couldn't react fast enough, as Shisui's punches flew almost instantly after Mokgetsu spoke, leaving no time for conscious thought.
"Amazing, feels more effective than the Sharingan." Obito remarked, scratching his head.
He rarely used Genjutsu; the Sharingan mainly served to enhance his dynamic vision and insight.
Not only could Observation see through movements like the Sharingan, but also detect attacks beyond the field of view, with the added functionality of a Perception Ninjutsu.
This led Obito to realize the Sharingan wasn't as strong as he'd thought.
In his earlier days before activating the Sharingan, Obito dreamed of awakening it.
Back then, Obito perceived the Sharingan as an invincible asset—the pride of the Uchiha Clan, the strongest noble house in Konoha.
Yet in reality, even at its peak with the Three Tomoe, Obito struggled among fellow disciples.
Compared to the famous Sharingan, Obito believed the bloodline of the Uzumaki Clan to be superior and stronger.
He'd encountered three Uzumaki Clan members: Uzumaki Kushina, Uzumaki Naruto, and Uzumaki Karei.
Even without ninja training, Uzumaki Karei's Chakra was quite exceptional.
As for Kushina and Naruto, it was a given; Obito had already felt their unfathomable Chakra during combat.
"No wonder Uchiha Madara couldn't defeat Senju Hashirama—perhaps the Sharingan is inferior to the Senju bloodline." Obito pondered.
Though the current Uchiha Clan boasted about Madara's prowess, the undeniable truth remained that Uchiha Madara couldn't overcome Senju Hashirama—something widely acknowledged.
"All of you should try to learn. If it's not feasible, then abandon it—it requires a talent for perception," Mokgetsu reminded.
Throughout the current Ninja World, all Ninja Villages, whether large or small, greatly value Perception Ninjas.
Squads with Perception Ninjas differ significantly from those without.
Training Perception Ninjas goes beyond having Perception Ninjutsu—it requires ninjas with perceptive talent.
The threshold for learning Perception Ninjutsu is high; without innate perceptive ability, it's unlearnable.
This is why other major ninja villages covet Konoha's Hyuga Clan—no cultivation required; every newborn is a natural Perception Ninja, and they excel within their field, making them highly desirable.
All disciples nodded in understanding.
After the demonstration and explanation, Mokgetsu began formal instruction.
After teaching for a while, Mokgetsu suddenly recalled the memory of a Shadow Clone back at his home.
His Shadow Clone at home had been visited by Anbu.
"Start cultivating freely; I need to visit the Hokage Building," Mokgetsu instructed his disciples.
Saying this, Mokgetsu quickly headed to the Hokage Building, surmising from Minato's previous letter that something had gone awry on the battlefield.
PS: Apologies for today's delay, only 4k. If possible, I'll catch up in the future.
