Chapter 722 - Chapter 381: Obito's Promotion to Jonin Reward

[Disciple Uchiha Obito works diligently to train and accumulate achievements, promoting to Jonin, earning rewards: Chakra +2400, Item Drawing Scroll, Unknown Pokemon Egg (can only be hatched by Uchiha Obito)]

On the way home, Mokgetsu passed by a clear river, washed his hands in the water, and then clicked to draw.

[Item Drawing Scroll used, reward obtained - Unknown Pokemon Egg]

Mokgetsu was slightly stunned when he saw the drawing information; he hadn't expected Obito's single mission to actually contribute two Pokemon Eggs, and the one drawn didn't seem locked like the system reward.

Mokgetsu thought he would probably draw an item related to Obito's abilities.

"Then give it to Rin when she officially becomes a Jonin," Mokgetsu thought to himself.

All the other disciples have one, except for Nohara Rin. That indeed feels rather awkward.

If the system didn't reward it, Mokgetsu wouldn't have any way to make a Pokemon Egg appear out of thin air to gift to Nohara Rin.

Since the system gave two, Mokgetsu definitely wanted to reserve one for Nohara Rin.

Although Nohara Rin can sign a contract with the Shikkotsu Forest to summon Katsuyu, more good summoning beasts are never too much, and a ninja can contract with multiple summoning beasts.

Moreover, compared to Katsuyu, Pokemon generally have formidable combat abilities, which can make up for some of Nohara Rin's combat weaknesses.

The only one losing out is Obito, whose reward changed into Nohara Rin's gain.

However, Mokgetsu figured that if Obito knew everything, he might even be happy, after all, this way Nohara Rin's safety is better assured.

When Mokgetsu returned home, he discovered a letter from Namikaze Minato in the mailbox.

Mokgetsu sat in the living room, opened the envelope, and began to read.

"In this early winter, upon hearing about your exploits on the East Coast battlefield, Mokgetsu, I was greatly excited. The enemies invading our country have finally been driven out, and the warmth of this heated battle keeps the cold winter winds from chilling me."

Mokgetsu nodded slightly. This was precisely the effect Sarutobi Hiruzen wanted to achieve through his special propaganda, boosting the morale of Konoha Ninja on other battlefields.

"Since our parting in Loulan, roughly calculating the time, it's been over half a year since we last met. Several months ago, I returned to Konoha for a period of rest, but unfortunately, Mokgetsu, you were on the East Coast battlefield at that time."

In the recent half-year, it has been a difficult period for Konoha since the start of the war. Hidden Mist landing to invade the homeland, pressure from the Daimyo of the Land of Fire, and capable ninjas have found it hard to idle.

"Probably due to the intense fighting between Hidden Cloud and Hidden Sand, there hasn't been much warfare on the Land of Hot Water battlefield where I am stationed, so in two or three months, I might visit Konoha again. Hopefully, at that time, we are not too busy, and there will be a chance for us to meet."

Namikaze Minato then briefly described his recent situation and some events on the Land of Hot Water battlefield.

"If you return to Konoha and have time, could you please take care of Kushina? She really loves your cooking, and having not tasted it for so long, she is probably at a point where she dreams about it."

Upon reading the end, Mokgetsu revealed a subtle expression. Namikaze Minato truly loves Kushina deeply—even on the battlefield, he worries about Kushina's daily life.

After storing the letter, Mokgetsu tidied up the house a bit and then went outside, activating Byakugan to see if he could chance upon Kushina in the street.

Mokgetsu had no way to contact Kushina directly; previously, it was always Kushina who conveyed messages to Mokgetsu through Anbu.

But Mokgetsu couldn't be sure if Kushina would know immediately about his return to Konoha, so Mokgetsu opted to stroll the streets in hopes of a chance encounter.

Due to the Nine-tails, Kushina's range of activity is limited. With Mokgetsu's Byakugan ability, as long as Kushina is outside roaming, Mokgetsu could happen upon her.

If it just happened to be a day where Kushina didn't come out, then Mokgetsu would have to find Sarutobi Hiruzen to inquire about any news of the "missing" Kushina.

Although it's a bit roundabout, there wasn't any other way since on the surface, Mokgetsu wasn't supposed to know Kushina's identity as the Nine-tailed Jinchuriki.

Mokgetsu was lucky; Kushina was out shopping today. From her lip movements, it seemed she was humming a little tune while strolling, looking in a good mood.

Mokgetsu thought it over and made a casual appearance, slowly approaching Kushina. A ninja just off the battlefield strolling to relax seemed quite reasonable.

"Mokgetsu, long time no see. I actually ran into you!" When Mokgetsu was about ten meters from Kushina, she noticed the familiar blonde figure and immediately beamed, waved, and shouted.

"Long time no see." Mokgetsu responded with perfectly timed surprise and began to walk in Kushina's direction.

Kushina jogged over to Mokgetsu, patted his shoulder, and said proudly:

"A few days ago, I saw the newspaper promoting your battle achievements, and I guessed you might return to Konoha soon, thinking that if I strolled outside, I could run into you, and it actually happened."

"Am I amazing or what? If it were Minato, he might not have even thought of that," Kushina said with a smug smile and hands on her hips.

"Amazing." Mokgetsu nodded in praise. It wasn't easy for Kushina to think this far.

"Mokgetsu, you are amazing too. I never thought your strength was so strong that you actually killed a Jinchuriki. It scared even me," Kushina gave Mokgetsu a thumbs up.

As the Nine-tailed Jinchuriki, Kushina deeply understood the terror of the Tailed Beasts. Even for her, becoming a Jinchuriki wasn't easy, and a battle with a fully formed Tailed Beast would be extremely dangerous.
