"To personally slay a fully transformed Tailed Beast, Mokgetsu-kun, after this battle, your name and your slashes will spread throughout the Ninja World. I'll report your achievement to the higher-ups later," Orochimaru said with a smile as he walked up to Mokgetsu.
He rarely showed this kind of smile, but he knew it made him seem more approachable.
"It was just a bit of luck, and it was everyone's achievement. Without the squad's attack and you, Orochimaru-kun, creating an opportunity for me, I wouldn't have been able to kill the Jinchuriki," Mokgetsu thought for a moment and replied.
Mokgetsu was not overly modest. This battle was indeed a team effort, whether it was the main contributors Mokgetsu and Orochimaru, the Ino-Shika-Cho trio, or the ordinary Konoha Jonin, everyone had a role to play, albeit to differing extents.
"The strength of the squad is indeed important, but your final critical attack was even more vital," Orochimaru lightly shook his head and said.
Getting the Jinchuriki's head was no easy feat; Mokgetsu's Flying Thunder God played a crucial role.
After saying this, Orochimaru didn't chat much more with Mokgetsu, exchanged a few more words, and went to arrange work.
He knew how to strike a balance; trying too hard to show intentions would only annoy people, and besides, Orochimaru was indeed very busy right now.
Although the battle was won, the fight at the East Coast Battlefield was not entirely over, as Karatachi Yagura fled with a large Hidden Mist squad, which was a considerable issue.
Orochimaru still had to report the process and results of this battle to Konoha's higher-ups, and finally, he had to organize the subsequent various works.
"Teacher Mokgetsu, what is the name of that ninjutsu where you created a small sun in the sky?" Obito eagerly stepped forward to ask when he saw Orochimaru walk away.
That ninjutsu was too cool; Obito really wanted to learn it.
Being able to turn a dark area into broad daylight instantly seemed like a divine skill to Obito.
"Sunny Day Jutsu," Mokgetsu replied after a bit of thought.
The name "Sunny Day" was a bit awkward for a ninjutsu, so Mokgetsu gave it a more Hokage-style name.
"Sunny Day Jutsu," Obito repeated, "It's really fitting, a blazing sun appears after using it."
Then, with an expectant look, Obito asked Mokgetsu, "Teacher Mokgetsu, do you think I can learn this ninjutsu?"
"You can learn it," Mokgetsu affirmed.
At that moment, Obito even thought of his future title: Flaming Obito, Konoha's fiercest fire tiger.
"But I don't quite recommend you learn it right now," Mokgetsu added, extinguishing the flame in Obito's heart.
"Why? Isn't this ninjutsu very powerful?" Obito asked, puzzled.
If Mokgetsu hadn't suddenly used Sunny Day, Konoha would have had a much harder time winning the recent battle.
"In overall performance, Sunny Day Jutsu is indeed very strong, but in regular small-scale battles, it's not as useful as you imagine," Mokgetsu explained.
When Mokgetsu first acquired Sunny Day, he tested it and found that using Breath of Flame Chakra Mode directly was more effective and saved more chakra than using Sunny Day.
Sunny Day essentially creates a field that enhances Fire Release and weakens Water Release, with the field's range, duration, and intensity depending on the chakra used.
In his tests, Mokgetsu expended forty thousand chakra points to create a Sunny Day covering only a two-hundred-meter range, lasting just five minutes.
In the recent battle, Mokgetsu used a massive amount of chakra and sacrificed some Sunny Day strength to cover the entire battlefield.
In normal team fights or single fights, two hundred meters is really not enough, and it's easy to exceed Sunny Day's range, but sacrificing strength for range is truly not as useful as using Breath of Flame Chakra Mode with more ninjutsu.
"And this ninjutsu is very difficult; you'd have to focus on learning it for a long time to master it," Mokgetsu mentioned the last hurdle to stop Obito.
Sunny Day's difficulty is the main reason Mokgetsu didn't think Obito needed to learn it at this stage.
Otherwise, even if it wasn't often useful, Mokgetsu wouldn't mind his disciples having more techniques, as they could simply not use them when not needed.
The most difficult ninjutsu Mokgetsu had encountered was the localized transformation; he had no idea how to teach this.
Next to that was Sunny Day. The first challenging point of Sunny Day required a high-level Fire Attribute Chakra Nature Change, which Obito could barely meet due to the boost from the Breath of Flame Chakra Mode.
The second challenging point of Sunny Day was its inherently high cultivation difficulty; Mokgetsu estimated that, with Obito's pace in learning ninjutsu, he'd need at least half a year of focused study.
With that time, learning other skills would lead to greater strength improvements.
The Thoughtless Slash of the Lighting Release Blade Technique was actually more difficult than Sunny Day, but even if not successfully cultivated, the training process itself provided real strength improvements; thus, once Kakashi met the cultivation requirements, Mokgetsu directly taught it to him.
Disappointment was evident on Obito's face, even though the ninjutsu couldn't have a big impact, Obito still wanted to learn it, if only to look cool outside of battles.
But upon hearing how long it would take to learn, Obito refocused himself; in the end, strength is the key, and any ninjutsu that impedes improvement must be avoided, lest he lose terribly in friendly fights with fellow disciples.
Obito didn't want to end up doing endless tasks as punishment just because he wanted to look cool; that cost was too great.
After chatting with several disciples and casually healing Might Guy, Akimichi Chouza and his group found Mokgetsu.
