Chapter 875 - Chapter 827: Secret

Watching Youyu elegantly resolve the duel and calmly log out of the Duel Links system, Mokuba was left in a daze.

Is it... over already?

Unscathed with 4000 LP, relying only on a heavy cannon called "Mass Driver," he wiped out every last drop in a single turn... there was even overflow!

Mokuba was dumbfounded.

He couldn't help but recall when he watched Youyu duel his brother. Back then, Youyu was using a "Pure Hero" card deck, centering around "Elemental Hero Electrum" in a combo Youyu called the "Eternal Cannon," employing an Infinite Chain to reduce the opponent's LP to zero, regardless of how much they had.

The infinite LP draining combo deeply shocked Mokuba's young mind — he knew it must have also shocked his brother.

And now he felt that same sense of awe being reproduced once more —

——So this is another way to play cards!

I've got to let my brother know!

Knowing his brother well, Mokuba was sure his brother would also be immensely thrilled to see this. So he skillfully used the Duel Links system's recording feature to save the duel between Youyu and the computer to the local system, planning to show this impressive operation to Kaiba when he returned...

Youyu wasn't aware that Mokuba had recorded the duel. If he knew, he would have made him delete it.

Just kidding, what if President Haima gets excited again after watching his gameplay?

He had just managed to divert attention... no wait, he successfully transferred the rivalry, making President Haima's current interest focus on Yugi. If Mokuba showed him the recording, how would he react if his attention shifted back?

Regrettably, Youyu hadn't noticed Mokuba's little trick. After exiting the Duel Links system, he simply asked: "Is the firewall settled?"

"Oh... oh."

Mokuba finally snapped back to reality, refocusing on the operation.

The security protocol was managed by the D Department's main computer, which was equipped with the latest duel intelligence, and the security measures were tightly linked to the duel, making it impossible for anyone to bypass. This meant that no matter how strong a hacker, they couldn't easily breach this defense — the only way to overcome it was by dueling and defeating this computer...

... Well, that's Youyu's made-up theory.

He wasn't quite sure how "hacking into a server through dueling" actually worked. In any case, they managed to get in.

The D Department had been established for many years, specifically addressing various extraordinary phenomena related to duels — which, in this universe, essentially equated to all supernatural phenomena... and even some non-supernatural ones.

Since almost nothing was unrelated to dueling, the department's jurisdiction was vast. Over the years, they gained increasing importance and were allocated more resources and power.

So it's imaginable that the D Department held a plethora of confidential information that couldn't be browsed through instantly.

They had limited time — according to Mokuba's calculations, exceeding three minutes could trigger a new alert mechanism, making them detectable. He could only search directly for the content they needed based on archive numbers, dates, and other information.

After this long and by no means easy hunt, the truth finally emerged slowly.

The last task Hibiki Koyo received before disappearing, the discovery made by the archaeological team, described as "evil and perhaps never meant to see the light of day," was finally silently revealed through the data.

The amount of information was more than Youyu anticipated, and he had no idea what to expect.

He thought it might be about Tragoedia, about the demon sealed three thousand years ago. This would explain why the once-missing Hibiki Koyo became Tragoedia's puppet and why attempts to investigate were obstructed by the Crayfish's interference.

But now he realized he was completely mistaken.

The findings from the archaeological team, the so-called "evil never meant to see the light of day," seemed unrelated to Tragoedia at all. Or rather, compared to these, a mere crayfish wasn't even a threat.

Youyu quickly realized that this deserved his serious attention — the threat's priority instantly surpassed Tragoedia the Crayfish.

This was a palpable threat that could affect the entire human world, even all of the Spirit Realm, and needed to be addressed without delay.

Mokuba watched behind Youyu, silent the entire time — even as they exceeded the three-minute limit while browsing the information. He also realized the severity, far beyond the significance of acting as Kaiba Company's second-in-command hacking into a government department server from the group headquarters.

A video call coincidentally came through to his office at this moment.

"Sir." Izono's eternally calm face appeared on the screen, "The D Department's helicopter just landed on our company's helipad. Officer Fujino insists on coming in... says he wants a face-to-face with Mr. Youyu."

Mokuba frowned and said, "Tell them appointments are necessary for meetings, rules are rules, it doesn't matter who it is..."

"It's okay, Mokuba, let them in," Youyu said calmly.

Mokuba was taken aback: "Youyu..."

"In fact, even if he didn't come, there are some questions I planned on asking directly myself."

"...All right."

With Youyu's agreement, Mokuba had nothing more to say.

"Let him in," Mokuba said to Izono.

The message was delivered, and the top floor's doors quickly opened. Officer Fujino, backed by two special duelists, strode unobstructed to their location.

Upon entry, the office's projection screen still displayed confidential matters from the D Department server — Youyu had no intention of concealing his agenda.

He planned to address questions directly.

It had been years since they'd last met, and Officer Fujino... let's just say, his appearance seemed to be trending more towards President Haima's.

He sported a hairstyle identical to the President's, and his trench coat and belt styles were similar, almost resembling a cosplay fan.

Not surprising by the content on the screen, Fujino simply remarked: "It seems you already know."

"Only partially, there are many things I intend to ask you directly," Youyu replied. "But since you're here, that's saving us some trouble. Let's get straight to the point...

... so all this, from the beginning, was about the 'Three Phantasms,' correct?"

Fujino briefly paused, then nodded.

"Indeed."

The Three Phantasms, counterparts to the Three Egyptian Gods, depicted in the original anime as incredibly powerful and equally evil spirit incarnations, alleged to match the Egyptian Gods in potency.

Yet, through the storyline and actual battles, those three Phantasms never seemed to demonstrate such power.

And that mission years ago, the excavation by the archaeological team, the sinister secrets hidden in the D Department's archives...

... those were the reasons they were deemed to rival the Egyptian Gods.
