Chapter 637 - Chapter 179: Path of Legends, Death's Sneak Attack?

People always grow from their experiences.

Ian is no exception.

Since his visit to Diagon Alley, he has gained unique experiences and knowledge, so when Pandro initiated the conversation, he seamlessly pulled out a thick stack of contracts.

"Whenever there's something good, of course, you are the first one I think of, my friend. Let's sign an adventure contract together. It's the coolest thing necessary for an adventure in my era."

Ian's smile might not be wicked, but he did take advantage of Pandro's early death, knowing that he's probably not familiar with the current trends in the wizarding world.

Indeed.

Upon hearing that it's a must-have adventure contract and includes the word "coolest" in it, which probably violates advertising laws, Pandro's bright eyes gleamed even more.

"Of course, an adventure contract, I understand, I definitely understand." Pandro was clearly pretending to understand. After taking Ian's contract and glancing over it briefly, he immediately signed his name.

He didn't hesitate much—true, the name Pandro signed is likely not his real one, but Ian's contract doesn't contain any magic power.

As long as Pandro acknowledges the terms and content, that's enough. After all, his good buddy Pandro is someone who cares a lot about his face and wouldn't do something as shameless as reneging like Ian.

"When do we set off?"

After signing his name with a flourish, Pandro was eager to embark on the journey. He even pulled out a vintage-style backpack from who knows where. It seems this guy truly loves adventure, ready to leave behind his half-trained "apprentice" Ariana.

"Can I come too?"

Ariana didn't seem to have a problem with it. Instead, she looked at Ian with a hint of anticipation—after all, the "apprentice" Pandro brought along seemed to share some similarities with her.

This might be related to her life being too dull during and after her previous life; with an opportunity presented, it naturally sparked her longing and yearning for the poetry and distance in her heart.

Yes.

This is genuine poetry and distance.

"Perhaps some preparation is needed, but of course you can join us on the adventure." Ian replied without hesitation, and even if Ariana hadn't asked, he would have invited her anyway.

Apart from the sentimental talk about friendship and bonds that remained unspoken, he thought perhaps all he needed to do was "accidentally" inform the old headmaster about his team, and there would be no need to spend money on hiring bodyguards. With luck, he might even enjoy a great deal on a buy-one-get-one-free protection package.

Pandro is the backup plan.

Bringing Ariana is the true insurance!

"Yay!"

Upon receiving Ian's affirmative answer, Ariana cheered jubilantly, her face lighting up with a smile. She discreetly set aside her sword, attempting to slack off without Pandro noticing.

"What preparations do we still need? My ample adventure experience is the best preparation!" Pandro, as if unable to wait for a moment, patted his chest, flaunting his adventure expertise to Ian.

"The treasure I've found is in the human world, so I have to figure out how to get you there," Ian shrugged helplessly, recalling Teacher Morgan's past advice.

"Your ring indeed can't summon me; I... am too heavy," Pandro said, clearly aware of the fact, with an amusingly awkward expression.

Ian took a deep look at his friend.

The scales of suspicion in his heart tilted further.

"Just because I couldn't bring you before doesn't mean it can't be done in the future. I think I have a reliable idea." Ian said as he pulled out an extra [Ring of Patronus].

"Wear this for now; I'm sure that where there's a will, there's a way." Ian believed the motivation from the Tomb of King Arthur was substantial enough, and he was satisfied when Pandro put on the Ring of Patronus, smiling widely.

Indeed.

As someone with just a bit more than the human world's magical limits, it's indeed difficult to bear Pandro's cross-realm consumption using the traditional Patronus Charm.

However.

This isn't an insurmountable issue. Ian had already thought of a solution soon after Teacher Morgan revealed the true identity of the Black-robed Skeleton.

Simply modifying the Patronus Charm slightly by extracting the soul connection and summoning circuit individually, many things suddenly have multiple flexible ways and possibilities.

The half-step legend's magic isn't enough to support Pandro, but a deity's... even if it's seen as a flawed god, is still a god, and the Black-robed Skeleton's elusive magic remains vast.

Yes.

Perhaps it's time to describe the Black-robed Skeleton's power with the term divine power. With such a super formidable "power bank", Ian was confident that sustaining Pandro's consumption was more than sufficient—if not for the fear of being spanked by the Legendary Black Witch, the Little Wizard might have even wanted to put a ring on Morgan's fingers.

"Our trio adventuring team will surely be fascinating." Ariana, looking at the same ring Pandro had on his hand, couldn't help but begin envisioning the stories yet to unfold.

"The Iron Triangle, this combination looks very stable." Ian was also quite expectant, though, of course, his greatest anticipation wasn't the treasure, but whether Pandro would crack under pressure and show his true colors during this adventure.
