(KRYSTAL'S POV)
"Krystal, you need to calm down," Angelo says.
Raffaele is sitting on the edge of my bed, watching me pace back and forth across the room. He taps the space beside him with his left hand.
"Come sit down," he says.
I stop pacing and turn to face them, and my tone comes out harsh when I speak.
"Look—I know you're both trying to look out for me, but you have no idea what it's like to be in my shoes right now. So don't tell me to calm down."
I plant my hands on my hips and start pacing again because if I stand still for too long, I feel like my thoughts might crush me.
My heart hasn't stopped racing since I left that room.
"Val is alone with your father in that room," I say. "And only God knows what they're talking about."
I roughly drag both hands through my hair and grip the strands for a second before letting go.
"Your Aunt Francesca already thinks I did something to Val," I continue. "The last thing I need is your father thinking the same thing too."
