Chapter 1133 - Chapter 1133: Five-Star Difficulty Deck

"'The Fabled Catsith's effect: destroy Wise Core!"

Like a shadowy black cat, The Fabled Catsith's spirit flashed past. After a string of attacks and defenses, Primo finally managed to destroy his own Wise Core despite layers of protection from Kira.

The white core exploded with a bang, flaming metal shards scattering around the highway, bouncing off the road and walls.

"When Wise Core is destroyed, its effect activates!" Primo proclaimed. "All other monsters you control are destroyed!

Then, I Special Summon the five Meklord Emperor Wisel pieces from my hand, deck, or graveyard!

Appear!"

Primo swiftly drew five cards from his deck.

"'Meklord Emperor Wisel '!

'Wisel Top!'

'Wisel Attack!'

'Wisel Guard!'

'Wisel Carrier!'"

Each shout placed a card onto the Duel Disk. From swirling starlight, appeared white mechanical torsos, a steel face-plate with red markings, blade-armed hands, and the mechanical legs that let the whole mecha float in midair.

[Meklord Emperor Wisel, ATK 0]

[Wisel Top, ATK 500]

[Wisel Attack, ATK 1200]

[Wisel Guard, ATK 0]

[Wisel Carrier, ATK 800]

"Combine and transform!"

At his command, the five pieces moved to their places, assembling into a massive white mecha. The energy core at its chest flickered with an infinite loop twisting in eternal darkness.

Five monsters merged into one, creating the mighty Meklord Emperor Wisel, famed as the "Synchro Killer" of the Three Meklord Emperors!

"When the five pieces of 'Meklord Emperor Wisel' are combined, it's treated as a single monster, with its BATK the sum of all five parts!"

[Meklord Emperor Wisel, ATK 0→2500]

"Even with all that protection, you still managed to pop your core and summon Wisel. Impressive," Kira said with a smile.

His light tone, however, only made Primo more uneasy.

His opponent spoke as if everything was within expectations. Though he'd never met Wisel before, he wasn't shocked by the fusion, the combining mechanism, nor the Emperors' oppressive atmosphere.

Primo began to wonder—maybe he'd rushed into this confrontation too recklessly. He knew nothing about this man, but the man seemed to know everything about him and about the Meklord Emperor.

"Black Luster Soldier – Envoy of the Beginning can't attack during the turn it uses Dimensional Slash."

Kira waved his hand again.

"So, I'll set four cards in my back row and end my turn."

Swoosh, swoosh, swoosh, swoosh—four fresh new set cards.

"And at the end of the turn, due to its own effect, I revive 'Stardust Dragon' that tributed itself." Kira noted. "So I Special Summon Stardust Dragon from my graveyard!"

(In modern TCG rules, this move wouldn't work. Stardust Dragon, summoned by 'Starlight Road,' is a non-proper summon—called without Synchro Summoning. By current rules, monsters that normally can't be Summoned except by their own procedures can't be revived if they go to the graveyard this way. But in the anime, after Yusei summoned Stardust Dragon with 'Starlight Road,' it could be revived from the graveyard, so either this dimension doesn't have 'revival limitation,' or the rules are different.)

Otherwise, Yusei would have lost his battle and the world of 5Ds would have been destroyed. All because of the 'revival limitation.'

[Stardust Dragon, ATK 2500]

Primo's eyes lit up at the sight of Stardust Dragon's return, his doubt vanishing.

"Foolish!"

Before, he'd worried Kira might know all about the Meklord Emperor, but that worry vanished now—because if this man knew the Meklord Emperor's powers, how could he be stupid enough to bring a Synchro Monster like Stardust Dragon back onto the field?

When Stardust Dragon tributes itself to negate, it's not compulsory to return it to the field at end phase—you could just not revive it. This turn, Primo would show him why the Meklord Emperor was called the Synchro Killer!

"My turn! Draw!" Primo laughed. "Foolish human who uses Synchro Monsters—now be destroyed by the very Synchros you rely on!

Meklord Emperor Wisel, activate effect: once per turn, equip an opponent's Synchro Monster from their field to this card!"

The core on Wisel's chest opened, emitting tendrils of energy. They wrapped around Stardust Dragon's limbs, binding its neck.

Stardust Dragon shrieked in protest, but was ultimately pulled into Wisel's chest by overwhelming force.

The dragon's spirit manifested as energy within Wisel's arm, its soul burning like a dragon-soul sword.

"Wisel gains the equipped Synchro Monster's ATK!"

[Meklord Emperor Wisel, ATK 2500→5000]

Kira feigned surprise. "Five thousand attack points!"

Primo was elated: "See? Powerless Synchro Monsters only bring destruction—humans who crave such power are always destroyed by things they can't control!"

He then activated another monster card from his hand.

"I release 'Wisel Attack' from the field to summon Level 5 'Wisel Attack 5' from my hand!"

The old arm exploded into motes of energy, swiftly reforming into a bigger, stronger new arm.

(The core-summoned Wisel parts are always Level 1. Each part, however, also has higher-level upgrades: Wisel Top, Attack, Guard, Carrier all have reinforced forms. Meklord Emperor Wisel doesn't just absorb Synchro Monsters. All its pieces can be swapped and upgraded, making it extra tough.)

Of course, to play the anime version of the Meklord deck, you have to draw the core, have enablers to pop your own core, AND stuff your deck with all Wisel's parts and upgrades.

And hopefully you don't draw the Wisel parts into your opening hand—otherwise your hand is dead!

So, just being able to wield such a deck in a real duel is already respectable enough!
