"ROAR!!"
An Enoki Mushroom Monster lunged forward, stretching out its bloated arms to grab Wildvine, who was still complaining.
Bang!!
Wildvine swung his vine-arm like a whip, smashing the monster flat.
"Even if I don't know how to use this alien properly," he snarled, "you freaks are still trash to me!"
After all—
He was Ben.
Whoosh!!
Ethen's expression remained calm as he casually swung the Sword of Bezel.
Sword energy scattered like continuous rainfall.
Puchi! Puchi!
Countless sword intents pierced through the limbs of the Enoki Mushroom Monsters with surgical precision.
One by one, the monsters collapsed.
They weren't dead—
But Wildvine and Ethen both knew.
If their bodies weren't completely destroyed, these things wouldn't stay down.
"Ben—finish them!"
Ethen flicked the God Sword, his expression cold and indifferent.
The two of them stood on opposite sides, efficiently clearing the advancing monsters.
As the battle dragged on—
Wildvine gradually mastered his powers.
Roots burst from the ground.
Vines wrapped and crushed.
Poisonous mist spread through the forest.
His control over plant life grew sharper with every second.
"Ethen!" Wildvine shouted.
"I can control trees and vines, but I can't control these Enoki Mushroom Monsters! There has to be something freaky directing them!"
He bound several struggling monsters with thick vines.
"Yes," Ethen replied grimly, cleaving one in half.
"They're like puppets on strings. Fearless of death."
The only way to kill them—
Was to blast them into complete pulp.
"AHH!!"
Screams erupted from inside the cabin.
Andy and Mandy stumbled out, collapsing near the doorway.
Grandpa Max grabbed a shovel.
Gwen picked up a heavy stool.
They stared in horror as Mushroom Monsters crawled toward the back entrance.
"ROAR!!"
An Enoki Mushroom Monster lunged—
Bang!!
Grandpa Max delivered a flying kick, knocking it over.
CRACK!!
Gwen smashed the stool down, shattering the monster into chunks.
She panted heavily, fear all over her face.
"We rushed out too fast… we should've brought the magic pendant!"
More roars echoed.
More monsters emerged.
They poured out of the forest like an army.
"Damn it…" Ethen retreated slightly, his expression dark.
"How many mushrooms can there possibly be?!"
"If you could transform," Wildvine said bitterly, "this fight would've ended ages ago."
This was exactly what it felt like—
Your strongest teammate gets banned mid-match.
And now you're stuck playing on hard mode.
Crack!!
The Fate Watch bulged again, recommending another alien.
Ethen ignored it.
He gritted his teeth and raised his hand to his armor.
"I'll turn my armor into a flamethrower and burn these bastards!"
"Then you'll have no defense!"
"I'll take the risk!"
Wildvine watched nervously as Ethen prepared to remove the prototype tool.
Click.
The Fate Watch screen was suddenly pressed back down.
"…Huh?" Ethen froze and turned his head.
Mandy was standing on tiptoes, her finger firmly pressing the watch.
She smiled innocently.
"I helped you press it," she said sweetly.
"Now you can become a super powerful alien too!"
"Big brother—go for it!"
Andy clenched his fists in encouragement.
Ethen.
Ben.
Grandpa Max.
Gwen.
All four of them wore expressions of despair.
Good news—
The cheat was activated.
Bad news—
They were about to pay for it.
WHOOSH!!
A pink light exploded onto the ground.
From within it—
A horrifying female Heatblast variant emerged.
Her body was covered in restraints.
Her eyes were heart-shaped.
Her appearance was grotesque, terrifying.
She turned her head slowly and locked her gaze onto Ethen.
"Master… I've finally been summoned."
"Y-you look like a prison inmate," Wildvine muttered nervously.
"You're correct," she replied calmly.
"I am Fire Prisoner."
She took a step forward.
"I was imprisoned after being suspected of brutally killing my spouse."
PFFT—
Ethen almost spat blood.
"AHHH!!"
The Mushroom Monsters closed in again.
Fire Prisoner looked around.
Her expression snapped.
Her sharp teeth bared.
"No one," she shrieked, "is allowed to disturb my feast!"
Feast?!
A black vein popped on Ethen's forehead.
RUMBLE!!
Fire Prisoner unleashed a storm of flames.
One punch—
And an Enoki Mushroom Monster was obliterated.
Even under pouring rain—
The flames boiled violently.
Ethen, Gwen, Grandpa Max, and even Wildvine retreated behind the cabin, terrified of being incinerated.
"I… I think I messed up…"
Mandy whispered weakly.
"At least," Ethen sighed, covering his face, "the immediate problem's solved."
"ALL OF YOU—DIE!!"
Fire Prisoner roared.
Fireballs erupted from her body like a volcano.
The forest exploded.
Every Enoki Mushroom Monster was blown apart.
She dropped to one knee, breathing heavily.
"…Is it over?"
Flames raged everywhere.
Mushroom remains littered the ground.
Silence fell.
Then—
BANG! BANG!
The earth trembled.
Something massive was approaching.
From the forest emerged—
A colossal Enoki Mushroom Monster.
Dozens of thin bodies fused together.
Golden mushroom heads stacked tightly.
A single, grotesque mass.
Ethen's stomach turned.
"I'm never eating enoki mushrooms again…"
Each head roared at once.
"ROAR!!!"
"Another one?" Fire Prisoner laughed madly.
"Good. I'll burn you too!"
She hurled a massive fireball.
The monster swung dozens of arms.
A violent air current dispersed the flames instantly.
It advanced unharmed.
"Let's go!"
Wildvine lashed out, wrapping a vine around its neck.
WHOOSH! BANG!!
He pulled hard and smashed a plant-fist into its head—
BANG!!
All the heads headbutted at once.
Wildvine was smashed into the ground.
"PFF—!"
He burrowed underground to escape.
Ignoring Fire Prisoner, the monster reached for Ethen.
"You go! I'll cover you!!"
Ethen roared, sword flashing wildly.
Blade after blade severed monstrous arms.
He advanced relentlessly—
Until—
PUCHI!!
A purple tentacle shot from the ground, hooking his ankle.
Ethen fell.
Countless hands grabbed him.
Crushing.
Suffocating.
"…Guardian mode?" Ethen thought bleakly.
His neck was seized.
He couldn't move.
"ETHEN!! I'll get the magic pendant!"
Grandpa Max shouted.
Gwen sprinted toward the car.
Wildvine erupted from underground, lashing wildly.
The monster didn't budge.
Every face smiled cruelly—
Watching Ethen choke.
And then—
Fire Prisoner saw it.
Her breathing became erratic.
Her eyes shook.
Ethen…
Is mine.
How dare you touch him—
Before I do?!
RUMBLE!!!
Pure rage erupted.
Fire Prisoner's flames exploded outward.
Her punch landed—
BANG!!
The monster was blasted away.
All the hands gripping Ethen were severed.
"What…?!" Ethen gasped, staring in shock.
Fire Prisoner roared hysterically.
"I'll kill anyone who dares lay a hand on you."
Love—
Sometimes becomes power.
Especially—
Yandere love.
Her body glowed deep red.
Killing intent boiled in her eyes.
"I'm going to make you die painfully."
She lunged.
And at that moment—
The Enoki Mushroom Monster finally understood—
Who the real monster was.
