But Serperior was already gone.
From the start, Kenji hadn't expected Leaf Storm to deal damage. It was a distraction—a green smokescreen to hide Serperior's trajectory.
Using the chaos of the leaves as cover, Serperior appeared directly at Espeon's flank.
Before the cat could even turn its head, Serperior's tail whipped around.
The long, serpentine tail glowed with concentrated emerald energy, sharpening into the edge of a scimitar.
