Eidolon
The Structure of the World
Eidolon appears outwardly as a technologically advanced modern world, but beneath the surface, it is an extremely dangerous transcendental world divided into two overlapping layers.
1. The Material World
The Material World is the physical side of Eidolon.
It consists of:
A solar system structure with a sun and revolving planets
Only one known life-bearing planet: Eidolon
Vast wilderness zones between human settlements
Modern technology powered by the Truth Church's systems
Human civilisation is not unified under nations.
Instead, humanity lives in independent City-States separated by hundreds of miles of wilderness.
Travel between cities is dangerous because transcendental creatures, hidden races, spiritual distortions, and unknown phenomena exist outside civilised zones.
Most ordinary humans never leave their city-state during their entire lives.
2. The Spiritual Realm
Overlapping the physical world is the Spiritual Realm.
It is:
A massive conceptual ocean formed from emotions, dreams, thoughts, fears, memories, and spiritual residue
Much larger than the physical world itself
Unstable and constantly changing.
Extremely dangerous to ordinary minds
The Spiritual Realm reacts to consciousness.
Thoughts can distort the environment.
Fear can attract predators.
Dreams can create temporary phenomena.
Strong emotions strengthen spiritual resonance.
The Spiritual Realm contains:
Spiritual creatures
Dream predators
Infernal entities
Heavenly entities
Conceptual anomalies
Spiritual lands
Divine Kingdoms
The Spiritual Realm is partially occupied by higher powers.
Three major factions carved territories out of it:
Heaven
Hell
The God of Truth
These territories are called Divine Kingdoms.
The Fundamental Law of Eidolon
Belief Becomes Reality
Eidolon operates under a terrifying universal principle:
Collective belief can alter reality.
If enough people believe something, the world gradually reshapes itself to support that belief.
This phenomenon can:
Strengthen individuals
Create supernatural phenomena
Give birth to gods
Empower races
Alter probability
Influence laws
The larger the belief base, the stronger the effect.
One person's belief has a weak influence.
Millions believing the same thing can reshape civilisation.
The Races of Eidolon
Humans
Vampires
Werewolves
Witches
Ogres
Infernal Contractors
Heavenly Contractors
Knight Cultivation Knight cultivation predates the Truth Church.
It originally developed during humanity's wars against transcendental races.
It is a purely physical transcendence path.
Core Principle
Knights strengthen the body until it exceeds natural biological limits.
The body and mind eventually synchronise and create a force field.
Knight Realms
1. Strength Realm
The beginner stage.
Knights train:
Muscles
Bones
Reflexes
Combat instinct
Eventually, they reach multiple times the normal human strength.
At the peak of the realm:
Body and mind synchronise
A primitive force field appears.
2. Force Realm
The force field becomes tangible.
Knights learn to:
Reinforce attacks
Reinforce defense
Shape force fields
Increase mobility
Force Realm Knights are already superhuman.
3. Power Realm
The first true transcendental stage.
The Knight breaks the first genetic limit.
Genetic Limit
Human biology naturally contains safety restrictions.
Breaking the limit forces the body to reorganise itself into a stronger form.
However:
Failure causes genetic collapse.
The body may mutate
Death is common
The force field temporarily suppresses the collapse while the body reorganises.
Scholar Cultivation
The Scholar path is humanity's modern transcendental system.
It is tied directly to:
Science
Discovery
Logic
Innovation
The God of Truth
Core Principle
A Scholar gains power by contributing discoveries to civilisation.
Research papers are submitted to the God of Truth.
The more impact the discovery has on humanity:
The greater the reward
The greater the authority
The stronger the transcendental power granted.
Scholar Ranks
1. Adept
Entry level.
Requirements:
Submit accepted research
Rewards:
Wealth
Influence
Status
No true supernatural power yet.
2. Scholar
Beginning the transcendence stage.
Divided into:
One Ring
Two Ring
Three Ring
Up to Nine Rings
At this stage, scholars gain:
Mental enhancement
Spiritual power
Calculation abilities
Advanced perception
Specialized abilities
3. Great Scholar
Beyond normal Scholars.
Three levels:
Star Rank
Moon Rank
Sun Rank
Great Scholars are terrifying transcendental beings.
Kaelan is currently a Moon Rank Great Scholar.
4. Sage
The highest known Scholar rank.
Sages transcend normal human lifespan.
They are among humanity's strongest beings.
TVM.4.020. Check-Up
Abner's head smashes into the frozen ground beneath him.
The boot presses harder.
Snow cracks.
Frozen earth caves inward.
Abner feels the terrifying pressure crushing his skull slowly downward.
His fingers claw desperately against the ground.
He can't breathe.
Can't move.
The weight keeps increasing.
The masked Knight is trying to crush his head completely.
For the first time since fleeing his destroyed home,
Abner truly feels death standing directly before him.
His vision darkens.
The pressure grows heavier.
Then suddenly,
BOOM.
A violent force crashes into the masked Knight from the side.
The man is blasted away from Abner, smashing through burning trees before tumbling across the frozen forest floor.
Abner gasps violently, sucking freezing air into damaged lungs.
Tom stands between them.
Breathing heavily.
One hand hangs limply at his side.
Blood drips steadily from his mouth.
But his eyes burn with fury.
"You touch the Young Master again," Tom growls hoarsely, "and I'll tear you apart."
The masked Knight slowly rises from the wreckage.
Then both men charge.
BOOOOM.
Their collision detonates across the forest.
Shockwaves tear apart nearby trees.
The ground splits beneath their feet.
Tom attacks ferociously from the beginning, fists crashing like artillery against the masked Knight's force field.
The masked Knight blocks, counters, retreats, and attacks again.
The battle becomes a blur of exploding snow and shattered wood.
At first,
Tom forces the man backwards.
But slowly,
The momentum changes.
Tom's movements become heavier.
Slower.
His breathing roughens.
The earlier second-limit transformation already drained most of his vitality.
And now the aftereffects are catching him.
Meanwhile, the masked Knight grows colder.
Sharper.
More precise.
A fist crashes into Tom's ribs.
Then another into his shoulder.
Tom retaliates with brutal force, but his strikes begin losing power.
Abner watches from the ground, bloodied fingers digging into the snow.
And slowly,
Terrifyingly,
It becomes clear.
Tom is losing.
Abner sees it clearly.
Tom's movements are getting slower.
His breathing rougher.
The masked Knight keeps forcing him backwards, little by little.
Without hesitating anymore, Abner charges back into the battlefield.
"Young Master!" Tom starts.
But Abner is already attacking.
His blade slashes toward the masked Knight's side while Tom throws a heavy punch from the front.
The lone assassin is finally forced back several steps.
For the next few moments, the two of them fight together against the masked Knight.
Tom handles the direct clashes while Abner attacks from blind spots whenever openings appear.
The pressure on Tom instantly decreases.
The masked Knight is pushed backwards across the clearing under the combined assault.
Then, during one brief exchange, Tom whispers,
"Young Master… find a chance and escape."
Abner immediately says resolutely,
"No."
Tom blocks another strike before replying,
"If you escape… then only I can escape too."
The meaning hits Abner instantly.
If he stays, Tom cannot disengage.
The masked Knight suddenly attacks again.
A heavy kick forces Tom backwards while a fist shoots toward Abner.
Abner dodges narrowly.
Then,
Finding the very first opportunity,
He turns and escapes into the forest.
The masked Knight immediately tries to pursue.
But Tom intercepts him again.
The battle behind Abner continues for several more minutes.
Explosions echo through the frozen wilderness.
Trees collapse.
Shockwaves shake the ground.
Then suddenly,
Silence.
A few moments later, Abner distance from the battlefield.
Tom and the masked Knight are standing near the ruined clearing, completely unharmed.
The terrifying killing intent from before is entirely gone.
Tom sighs while rubbing his ribs.
"Nice work," he says toward the masked Knight.
Then he grimaces slightly.
"But did you really have to hit me that hard?"
