I remained beneath Pelushra's statue for longer than I initially intended.
Time blurred quickly in that space, not because it passed faster, but because it stopped mattering altogether. The mana never ceased. It poured into me in a steady, endless stream, and the longer I stayed, the more I realized I no longer needed to reach for it. It came on its own.
At some point, it became visible.
Not just to my senses, but to sight.
It gathered around me like a slow-forming veil, thin at first, barely outlining where I existed. But as the days stretched on, it thickened, layering over itself until my form began to take shape within it.
Not human.
Not anymore.
Defined, but not by flesh. Held together by something far more precise.
"…So this is what it does," I murmured, studying my own hand as it formed from condensed mana rather than bone and skin.
