Chapter 6 - Author's Note: Power Mechanics, Progression, and Relationships in the Story

Hello everyone! I decided to write this detailed note to clarify how Kael's mutation works, align the system's logic with the Marvel Universe, and set expectations regarding plot development, relationships, and power scaling.

1. The Logic of Mutation in the Marvel Universe

In the scientific context of the Marvel Universe, Kael's mutation is not viewed as a "video game interface." For scientists like Hank McCoy or telepaths like Charles Xavier and Jean Grey, Kael's Omega-Level mutation consists of a biological and mental connection to an extra-dimensional pure energy dimension, dubbed Elixir.

* The "Elixir Bar": This is not a visual element floating above his head to others, but rather his mental capacity limit and biological flow. Each Elixir point represents the amount of this energy his mind can channel and materialize every 2.8 seconds without suffering neurological overload.

* Passive Absorption: Kael permanently absorbs the physical attributes (strength, speed, bone density, reflexes) and real functional abilities (flight, enhanced vision, combat techniques) of each unlocked troop type.

* Stacking by Type, Not Quantity: If Kael summons ten Giants onto the battlefield, he does not become ten times stronger. Passive absorption is based on the existence of the card in his mental arsenal (1x the troop's power). Furthermore, he possesses this passive strength at all times, without needing to keep the troop physically summoned on the field.

2. Spells and Buildings: What Grants (and Doesn't Grant) Passives

To keep the story balanced and coherent with mutant biology, we have set clear rules regarding which cards affect the protagonist's body:

* Spells (Fireball, Arrows, Zap, Lightning, etc.): These are purely active. Kael can cast them by spending Elixir from his mental bar, but they do not grant passive elemental affinity to his body. Kael does not become immune to fire or able to generate flames simply by having Fireball; he will only acquire Passive Pyrokinesis when he unlocks the Wizard troop.

* Static Buildings (Cannon, Mortar, Inferno Tower, Tesla): These are machines and structures without organic life. They grant only tactical field utility when summoned, with no alteration to Kael's biology.

* Spawning Buildings (Goblin Cage, Tombstone, Barbarian Hut): These grant passive alterations because they house and spawn living troops. Upon unlocking the Goblin Cage, Kael passively absorbs the physical build, pain tolerance, and fighting style of the Enraged Goblin.

3. Tactical Selection and Card Redundancy

With over one hundred existing cards in the game, many feature overlapping functions or expanded versions of initial units (for example: the Minion Horde is a multiplied version of Minions; the Goblin Gang combines regular Goblins and Spear Goblins into a single deployment).

As the story progresses, Kael will phase out basic cards when more efficient versions become available, optimizing Elixir expenditure and narrative pacing. It makes no sense to waste energy summoning individual Skeletons when he can simply summon a Witch to continuously generate them.

Similarly, once he gains his own elemental control through Wizard troops, his reliance on direct spells will decrease. However, core troops (Barbarians, Archers, Goblins, Knights) will continue to be used as needed when situations demand quality, versatility, or army volume.

4. Romance Dynamics and Kael's Lifestyle

The protagonist's love life directly reflects his position in the world:

* Current Phase (Public Hero and Celebrity): As an attractive, extremely powerful eighteen-year-old young adult who refuses to wear masks or use secret identities, Kael draws a massive amount of attention. His romantic life will involve casual encounters, open flirting, and uncommitted relationships as an outlet for combat stress.

* The "Definitive Partner": The romance will function in a "dynamic harem" format during his phase of establishing himself as a hero in New York. However, if he decides to settle down with a single partner later in the story, there will be a transition to a definitive main female lead (in the original draft, this figure was Ororo/Storm, but options remain open for plot development).

5. Individuality and Autonomy of Summoned Troops

Each troop materialized by Kael possesses consciousness, individuality, and persistent memories:

* Fixed Summoning Order: Troops are living beings of energy with their own identities. The two Archers who cut Kael's hair in Chapter 2 will always be the exact same two Archers to appear every time he uses the 3-Elixir card.

* Free Will and Limits: In combat, troops instinctively follow Kael's training and tactical orders. However, outside the battlefield, they possess their own feelings, personalities, and desires.

* Relationships: If Kael gives a direct service command (such as cutting his hair or standing guard), they will obey without hesitation. However, personal, affectionate, or intimate interactions require individual courtship and consent. They are not "mindless dolls."

> Question to Readers: What do you think about occasionally exploring personal interactions and dynamic developments with specific troops? Leave your thoughts in the comments! If you prefer to focus exclusively on the Marvel cast, I can keep the troops strictly in military roles.

6. Power Scale and Trophy Progression Pace

With a passive daily gain of 100 trophies, it will take Kael about 65 days (approximately two months) to complete the Trophy Road and unlock the full arena arsenal.

This pacing was strategically planned:

* Delaying progression for years would make no narrative sense, as the most iconic and versatile troops appear early on in the intermediate arenas.

* Kael already awakens at an extremely high tier (Omega Level) just with the Training Camp. The Giant's durability, the Knight's fencing, the Musketeer's aim, and the Minions' flight capability already place him at the top of the urban combat scale. Advancing through subsequent arenas expands his tactical options, but his dominant foundation is established from the start.

7. Ideology, Heroism, and the Relationship with the X-Men

Kael will not remain part of the X-Men for long. His worldview is fundamentally opposed to Professor Xavier's stance of isolation and secrecy.

* The Catalyst for Separation: The X-Men's inaction during major public crises (such as the devastation in Harlem caused by the clash between Hulk and Abomination) will leave Kael deeply outraged. While he understands Xavier's political prudence, he refuses to sit back and watch destruction with folded arms.

* The Third Mutant Face: Inspired by the concept of influential fictional figures (like Eidolon), Kael will become a third path for mutantkind: a Public Super-Hero. He will not be a dark anti-hero nor a radical villain like Magneto, but rather a radiant symbol of protection, charisma, and overt power.

8. Images in Chapters

Currently, I have been embedding visual art directly throughout the text of the chapters (such as the image of Kitty Pryde).

I would like to know your preference:

* Option A: Keep images embedded directly within the chapter scenes.

* Option B: Create dedicated chapters exclusively as "Illustration / Character Design Galleries."

* Option C: Maintain both formats (embedded images in chapters + a compiled gallery chapter).

Feel free to leave your questions, suggestions, and feedback in the comments. Happy reading, everyone!
