Chapter 11 - Chapter Eleven

The Great war is the golden age of Invidivia, and upon which thereafter its peak began to decline.

A million soldiers of the HellMore Empire marched on the city of which several contingent of blood mages were amongst them. These were the greatest mages of the Hellmore empire. Their most brightest and in this battle they sought the treasures of Invidivia, its riches, magics and legacies of the people here.

The fight drew on for weeks. A blood mage by the name of Von Tepes. Drew forth a great spell taking many slave lives he cast down nine pillars of heaven defying bolts of lightning. The mage of Invidivia did all they could to resist these attacks however only modest at best the barrier of the arcane black walls could not withstand the consecutive bolts just as the eighth struck the barrier cracked and upon this victory a singe bolt crashed through that Crack steering the first flag pillar toppling it. Before the second caught the remains of the attack damaging the flag pillar greatly its inner energies arced out in thick lashes of energy swiftly turning many to ash.

Such an attack took much out of Von Tepes, he could not do so again. This would have be quite an issue as Codem intended to dispatch arcane engineers to fix the flag pillars. But just ad they sought to do so an unnatural tremor quaked the city and from the mountain top came a tidal wave of snow and stone.

Burying Codem headquarters under its own collapsing frame and much of the forces within. No amount of manpower could be dispatched to save those trapped.

The Hellmore Empire armies had made an advance in the city during both major events the walls sieged. Swordsmen, guards, soldiers and mages alike falling under axe and blade as their shock and loss of buffs shook the heart of Invidivia people.

Though repelled within hours, Hellmore commands launched skirmishes assaults on the city every few hours.

It is on the second day of this strategy that Hellmore drew back preparing the greatest siege. An all put assault all troops put to the task. And their blood mages set to burn the city when they breach it. That day would not be long.

Invidivia was not without warning. Seeing siege towers, ladders and countless enemies for as far as the eye could see in every direction. This would be their final stand.

At midnight, the great armies of Hellmore assaulted the city. Siege towers in their dozens were pushed up. Walls of arrows, and spells besieged the quaking barrier seeking to lay waste. Trebuchets hurled fire stones that thundered against cracking sheilds pocketed black walls and even some managed to land upon the walls causing vast fireball explosions.

But let me not bore you with every detail.

Hellmore surely did breach Invidivia. Felling anyone caught in their quaking wake. It is upon this that the greater event remembered vividly even amongst those to this day.

Bogiyoga her eyes closed exhaled as she opened her eyes and said with a chilling tone that sent a strange feeling down his spine. "The Swords of Sanquilius"

From the depths of the city a single figure steps into the street. His robes flowing sword humming hellmore soldiers paused in their fighting the feeling as if every crisp breath of air was edged in a thousand blades. A feeling unlike anything they have felt arose. And that was fear.

The figure had flowing white hair. Seven tails white as snow fox ears alert. Raised their sword up. A strange light glitter at the height of their sword and in that moment every sword master, sword saints slowly stood up. The butcher, the shepherd, the farmer, the old grandma working the tailor shop, the bigger whom used to play fight with the kids and a stick. And many more such figures.

And then from nowhere and everywhere at once a voice spoke. "Sword Of Sanquilius. For a long time we have lived our lives dedicated to our craft and we have lived peacefully. And yet now enemies breach our home. Kill our people and seek to ruin what we built. So rise up and show them why we are the Swords Of Sanquilius"

And in that moment a strange aura arose across the dark skies. Countless auras of sword qi, could bless different forms, blades and sharp edges. And at that moment every hellmore soldier felt their hair stand on end.

Bogiyoga smirked as she leaned back. Dane lost in a dazed thought broke out of it. "W-what happened next?" He asked so curious. But she only shrugged. "The Hellmore empire was driven back. Out of the city and Into their blood slick battlefields. The Swords of Sanquilius did not stop there. They chased the army for miles. Even going beyond Invidivia walls. It is said there were a hundred sword masters. And in hours they killed far more soldiers than perhaps even the city combined." She hummed at the thought.

"Well.. where are they now?" Dane asked, leaning forward curious.

"Who knows. The masters of the blade never showed themselves after this point enmass. You're lucky to get one to publicly show themselves; nobody knows who the sword masters are now. The only one known is the one that guards the sword guild. But often they are in seclusion and often rarely if ever present to outsiders."

Dane furrowed his brow. "Wait.. why? Do they not like fame?" Bogiyoga gave him a look. "Perhaps you should ask them yourself… regardless that is the events of three hundred years ago. Now do you want to address your issues or drown in the past" she huffed.
