Chapter No.20 - A fight to survive - begins...!
The chapter begins exactly where the previous one ended.
Kye was standing there, his entire body covered in blood. One of his eyes was already swollen shut.
The weather had become extremely cloudy. Even the moon was no longer visible through the dark sky.
Strong winds swept through the open fields.
Draken looked at Kye and said, "Kid, you don't exactly look like you're in any condition to keep fighting anymore. Give up and come with us quietly."
Kye looked toward him.
"Oh, really? And who the hell are you to tell me what to do?"
Needle suddenly glared at Kye in anger and dashed toward him with his sharp blades.
"You filthy little brat! You're not surviving today! You've completely ruined my mood!"
His blade clashed directly against Kye's.
BOOM!
The impact generated a massive shockwave that spread throughout the field.
Kye took a heavy breath before speaking.
"What the hell are you four even made of? None of you are willing to give up!"
Kye delivered a powerful kick toward Needle, but Needle managed to tank the attack and stepped backward.
Kye narrowed his eyes.
"This is bad. There's no way I can win this fight through sheer force like I did last time."
Suddenly, Kye gave them a strange smile.
The sight of that smile only enraged the four of them even further.
Raven charged toward Kye from the front while the other three attacked him from behind.
All four of them constantly exchanged blows with Kye.
Kye could barely dodge their attacks when suddenly—
He pulled out his phone.
He held it in his hand for a few seconds before throwing it directly toward Raven.
The phone flies through the air toward Raven, and everyone is left shocked, wondering what the hell Kye is trying to do.
Suddenly, the flashlight on the back of the phone turns on, directly blurring Raven's vision. Kye takes advantage of the opening and uses his special punch.
Kye: "I'll decide the name later. I don't have time to name attacks right now!"
Kye dashes forward at full speed. A coating of fire suddenly forms around his right fist.
BURN!
The punch lands directly on Raven's face, dealing heavy damage and sending her flying backward.
Needle: "You bastard... Can you do anything besides using cheap tricks?"
Needle suddenly becomes completely serious and begins chanting.
Needle: "Summoning Art — Gravity: Blades of Destruction!"
The moment he finishes, eight to ten blades rise into the air from behind him.
Needle dashes toward Kye at full speed while the floating blades are launched toward Kye without Needle even touching them, each one carrying an enormous amount of speed and force.
Kye barely manages to dodge them, but at that exact moment, Needle himself swings the blades in his hands directly toward Kye's chest.
BLOCK!
Kye uses both of his hands to stop the two blades.
He makes a strange expression, as if he is experiencing genuine pain for the first time.
But the fight wasn't over yet.
From behind—
Blade: "Style of Demon God — Origin of Sword: Wrath!"
The moment Blade finishes his words—
He strikes!
Kye immediately senses the signal of death. Every instinct in his body screams at him to either run or die.
Kye barely manages to retreat and duck down.
His eyes widen.
The slash cuts through the air, and the sheer force of its impact slices through tons of trees in the distance as easily as butter.
Kye: "How the hell is this even possible? What is going on? How can someone generate this much slashing power with a katana?"
Before Kye can even finish processing what just happened, another voice echoes through the battlefield.
Draken: "Anger of Fighting God : Absolute Destruction!"
The moment he finishes, Draken slams his fist into the ground.
BOOM!
The entire open field cracks apart.
Cracks spread across the ground as the entire area begins shaking as if an earthquake has struck.
Kye struggles to remain standing.
Then he realizes it.
That attack was actually a bait.
Because—
Raven: "Style of Flexibility: Chain Like Snake's — Devour!"
Raven's chain shoots directly toward Kye and wraps around him as if it were alive.
Kye desperately struggles to free himself, but he can't.
He was genuinely struggling against them.
Kye thinks, What should I do? What... what?
Before he can figure anything out, Blade presses his katana against Kye's neck.
Blade: "So, you've finally realized your place, huh?"
Kye thinks, My condition isn't good enough to keep fighting anymore. I definitely can't defeat all four of them by myself.
Before Kye can even finish his thought—
BOOM!
A powerful kick strikes Blade from behind.
Blade is sent flying and crashes to the ground a considerable distance away.
And there he was—
Hollow.
He had finally joined the battlefield.
*Flashback*
We return to the moment Kye had pulled out his phone.
In reality, Kye had used those two or three seconds to send a message to the group at their hideout:
[Need Assistance]
Kye already knew that Elena and Saito could easily track his location through the message.
He simply didn't have enough time to manually share his location with them.
We see Elena reading the message aloud to everyone.
They were all confused, wondering what could have happened at this hour of the night.
Arisa had already fallen asleep by then.
Suddenly, Hollow spoke.
Hollow: "I'll go check. Just share his location with me."
Saito: "But—"
Hollow immediately interrupts him.
Hollow: "Right now, we need to find out what's going on. Kye would never send a message like this for no reason."
Back to the present.
Hollow looks toward Kye.
Hollow: "So... you finally ended up needing my help, huh?"
As soon as everyone gets distracted by Hollow's arrival, Kye takes advantage of the opening and pulls his own chains toward himself.
Raven, now completely off guard, is dragged toward Kye.
And—
THUNDER-STRIKE PUNCH!
The punch lands directly on Raven's face, sending her flying backward.
But Kye doesn't want to drag the fight out anymore. He immediately rushes toward Raven and delivers a solid kick, slamming her into the ground.
Before she can even recover, Needle appears behind Kye with his blades.
But before Needle can land his attack—
BOOM!
A solid punch sends Needle crashing downward.
And before he can even properly hit the ground, Kye follows up with a full-powered fire-coated kick straight to his face, sending him flying toward Blade, where he crashes down beside him.
Draken is left completely shocked by what he just witnessed—and furious.
But before he can even react—
CUTS!
Hollow unleashes a barrage of slashes with his Death God blades and techniques.
Draken's entire body is suddenly covered in cuts.
Draken looks at the condition of his body, and his anger immediately reaches its peak.
Draken: "You little punk! What the hell do you think you've become? You think you've grown strong enough to stand on our level? We're Master Fang's students! A traitor like you doesn't even deserve to stay alive! You're actually fighting alongside the enemy, you bastard!"
Hollow stares at him coldly.
Hollow: "Who the hell are you to tell me who I should stand beside? And today, I'll show you exactly why Master Null chose me."
The two immediately charge straight at each other with full force and fury.
CLASH!
Hollow's blade meets Draken's fist head-on.
Their blows begin to collide one after another, neither of them willing to back down.
Meanwhile, we see Kye—
who has just stepped directly in front of Blade.
Blade gets back up.
This fight was definitely not one-sided in any way.
Kye: "It's time to end this fight. It's already gone on long enough."
Blade: "Yeah... you're right about that."
He chants once again.
Blade: "Style of Demon God—"
Kye has already prepared a combination of Thunder and Fire in both his hands.
Even while fighting Draken, Hollow notices that Kye's condition is far from perfect.
But before he can react—
PUNCH!
A powerful punch sends Hollow flying backward. He barely manages to regain his balance.
Draken: "Looking somewhere else during a fight? You've got some nerve, don't you? Today, both of you are going to die. Master Fang will be pleased."
On the other side of the battlefield, Blade keeps launching strike after strike.
Everything around them is being sliced apart and destroyed. Kye can barely dodge the attacks.
Then, from behind, a flying chain comes straight toward Kye.
He manages to evade it.
But he can't avoid the attack that follows.
SLASH!
Blade's strike lands directly across Kye's chest, sending him flying backward purely from the force of the blow.
CRASH!
Kye slams into a tree.
His head hangs completely downward, as if he has finally been defeated.
The wound across his chest is deep, and blood pours down from it.
Hollow sees Kye's condition and gets distracted for just a moment.
And that's all it takes.
STAB!
Two blades pierce straight through Hollow's stomach.
Before Hollow can even understand what happened, Draken follows up with a hammer-style punch that drives Hollow hard into the ground.
The situation was extremely tense—and things were looking bad.
Kye was barely in a condition to even stand. For the first time, he could genuinely feel death getting closer.
Even Hollow couldn't withstand that deadly combination. He was almost unconscious himself.
Raven: "Huh... It's been a long time since we've struggled this much against someone. Especially when all four of us are fighting together."
*Flashback*
We see the entire crew of Fang's Special Executives.
The four of them had been teammates long before Fang ever recruited them. They used to work for a small crime organization, driven mostly by greed and the fact that they had nowhere else to go.
But one day, they crossed paths with Fang's group—and his previous team of Special Executives.
Raven and Needle immediately grab the previous Special Executives by their collars and lift them off the ground.
Fang simply watches from a distance, analyzing the situation without interfering.
But as the fight unfolds, Fang's expression suddenly changes.
His Special Executives had been brutally defeated by a bunch of ordinary street gangsters.
They had even been killed and torn apart.
Fang doesn't move from his position.
Instead, he smiles.
Fang : "Great. Job!"
The current special executives suddenly leap toward Fang as well, intending to attack him.
But—
BLACK SCREEN.
Only a few microseconds later—
Raven. Draken. Needle. Blade.
All four of them are lying unconscious on the ground.
Fang makes a phone call.
Fang: "I've found some pretty interesting people. Come pick them up. They might be useful to me."
Back to the present.
Raven begins pulling her chains back toward Kye.
Raven: "You've caused us enough trouble!"
But before she can do anything, a strange aura begins to emanate from around Kye.
Kye suddenly starts thinking about something from his past. Those papers and documents come back to his mind, and then—
DASH!
Even after dodging Raven's hand, her entire arm is suddenly severed from the rest of her body.
Kye has become completely serious.
No words. No expression.
His eyes are glowing red as he gives them a cold, piercing glare.
Even the atmosphere around him feels heavy, as if his aura itself has changed the entire battlefield.
The other three immediately charge toward Kye after seeing what happened to Raven.
Needle: "You motherf*cker! How dare you—"
He doesn't even get to finish.
STAB!
Hollow's blades pierce straight through Needle's chest.
Hollow: "If I lose to you, I'll never be able to show my face to Master Null again. And now that Kye is back on his feet, I have to get back up too."
The situation has suddenly changed.
But is this sudden comeback really a turning point?
Or is it merely a ray of hope—one that will eventually fade with time?
There was no answer.
And with that, the chapter ends.
