Ruko coughed heavily across the shattered floor, blood dripping from the corner of his mouth. "Damn it… I'm so stupid… cough…" The destroyed throne room trembled from the leftover pressure of the battle. Broken stone slid into the burning depths below while smoke drifted through the ruined castle halls. Kyouka slowly walked toward him. "Ruko… just surrender already." Her crimson eyes narrowed slightly. "I didn't know mentioning your old world would affect you like that. I thought maybe… it would make you understand." Jah Blesto released a deep growl behind her. "Jah Blesto calm down it's seems his not in any condition to be a threat or have the strength to stand up so I'll deal with it myself." Ruko forced himself upward slightly. "Why… why would you mention my old world…" His breathing shook. "And how can you tell that I got no good treatment from there…"
Kyouka slowly kneeled in front of him. "As I said…"
Her voice became quieter. "We aren't ordinary." Her crimson eyes narrowed slightly. The air around her felt strangely heavy. "And you aren't supposed to be in this world… as do I." Ruko froze. "What do you mean…" Kyouka reach her hand towards his lips and looked directly into his eyes. "Don't say a thing and just rest here…" A faint smile formed. Her lips curled faintly. "...Ruko Jizuko." Silence. Everything stopped. Ruko's eyes widened instantly. His face lost all color. "H-how do you know my last name…" No answer. His face began turning pale. "ANSWER ME!" He slammed his fist against the broken floor. "HOW THE FUCK DID YOU KNOW MY LAST NAME?!" Kyouka blinked once. Then looked away awkwardly. "I think I said too much." She stood back up casually. She paused excitedly. "Oh I can't wait to have powerful babies." Ruko stared blankly at her with complete unbelief. "What the hell is wrong with this chick… and this is the end of my freedom." The silver-black cloud wrapped around Ruko completely like a living storm. His clothes began tearing apart from the overflowing power. Kyouka looked up—then instantly turned bright red. "YOU FUCKING PERVERT LOOK AT YOURSELF!"
Ruko blinked. "Oi little chicki–chicki squirrel, what nonsense are you talking abo—" he looked down. The sunlight broke through the shattered ceiling and reflected across Ruko. Blank silence. "...Oh" Kyouka just stared at it in confusion. The air became awkward. Ruko scratched the side of his face. "So like..." He gave an awkward thumbs-up. "...the show?" Kyouka pointed at him furiously while covering her face. "JAH BLESTO ATTACK THIS MOTHERFUCKING PERVERT!" ROOOOAAARRRR—The gaint beast lunged instantly. But before the claws could reach him—WHOOOOSH—The silver-black mist condensed around Ruko's body like armor. Jah BLESTO slammed into the force and got blasted backward through an entire wall. Kyouka smile vanished. The cloud slowly condensed into a sphere around him. Then—CRACK.
The sphere shattered apart. Silver mist poured outward. Ruko stepped forward. Black-and-silver clothing wrapped tightly around his body like combat outfit forged from pure energy itself, while the crimson Core Alloy glowed within his palm. The remaining aura slowly flowed into his body. When he opened his eyes—Black-and-silver light glowed faintly within them. Kyouka stared silently. Ruko rolled his shoulder once. "Well then…" "Kyouka." His eyes glowed sharply. "Ready for round 3?" Wind pressure exploded around him. Kyouka lips slowly curled upward excitedly. "Hehehe…" "Yeah." She pointed directly at him. "Let's do it my husband." Ruko's face instantly went blank. "Dude." "We are NOT married." BOOOOM—Kyouka vanished instantly. Ruko instincts screamed instantly. But before she could strike—Ruko turned and drove a brutal punch directly into her stomach.
Blood burst from her mouth as she crashed through the throne room wall, hitting multiple pillars. Jah Blesto roared and charged. Ruko rolled his shoulders slowly. "Finally..." The aura around him intensified. "Now this feels like a real fight." The massive beast tore through the ground with enough force to callapse nearby towers. Ruko smirked. [Yew: activated phonk — INDIA DERNIÈRE] The beat dropped. Ruko rushed forward. "What the hell it's playing the same phonk!" The instant the bass hit—He slid beneath Jah Blesto and summoned twin short swords from Core Alloy. "Double Attack." SLASH—SLASH—Two black arcs carved across the beast's chest. Jah Blesto swung its claws downward. Ruko used Wind Breath to redirect himself sideways through the air unnaturally. Kyouka reappeared above him. "Inferno." Massive flames descended. "Freeze Gust." Ruko's freezing wind collided against the flames, creating exploding steam clouds throughout the sky.
BOOOOM—The castle ceiling shattered completely. All three launched upward into the evening sky. Far below, adventurers, axis cult, and demons stopped fighting momentarily as silver-black light streaked across the heavens. "What the hell is happening up there?!" Megumin stared upward excitedly. "That explosion of mana…!" Darkness shivered. "Such terrifying pressure…" Ruko spun midair and formed a spear. "Spear Arts!" The weapon shot toward Kyouka like lightning. She dodged narrowly while Jah Blesto burst upward from below. Ruko blocked with a shield formed instantly from Core Alloy. CRAAAASH—The impact sent shockwaves through the clouds.
Kyouka smirked. "So this is your synchronization state…" Ruko wiped blood from his mouth. "Still talking? and know what your saying?!" "Blade of Wind."
Dozens of compressed wind slashes exploded toward her. Kyouka countered with her own magic, causing explosions throughout the sky. The phonk intensified. Ruko switched weapons repeatedly: daggers, long sword, short bow, shield. Each transition happened instantly through Core Alloy. Jah Blesto lunged again. Ruko blocked the jaws with a reinforced spear—But got slammed backward through the air. "Tch—!" Then suddenly—A memory flashed inside his mind. (Varo: here catch this.) (Ruko: what the hell is this.) WHOOOOSH—A massive barrier suddenly locked the surrounding airspace into place. Kyouka's eyes widened. "What did you just—" Ruko raised one hand calmly. Every remaining demon inside the castle vanished within the explosion. The sky itself trembled. Ruko slowly smiled weakly. "…Heh." Then the synchronization ended. His body lost strength instantly. He began falling toward the magma below unconscious. Until—A hand grabbed him midair. "YOU really are a monster lad." Varo carried him across the burning sky. Ruko chuckled weakly before losing consciousness… Later. The sound of fire crackling filled the night. Ruko slowly opened his eyes. Varo sat nearby cooking stew over a campfire. "Oh you awake lad." Varo handed him a bowl. "Here, eat something. You lost too much blood so have to patch you all up." Ruko slowly ate. "…Oh wow." His eyes widened slightly. "This is actually good." Then paused. "Wait… Varo." "How did you catch me in the sky? Nobody can fly."
"Ruko you big oaf." A familiar voice interrupted him. "Lay back down already." Ruko turned slowly.nAlthea sat nearby with her arms folded. Silence. Ruko's face became completely blank. "A-althea… what are you doing here…" Althea pointed beside her. "I said come lay down since your still injured." Varo laughed loudly. "She let your head rest on her lap the whole time while you were unconscious." Althea instantly punched him. "YOU STINKING OLD MAN!" Varo spun through the air and faceplanted into the dirt. Ruko stared silently. Then burst out laughing. "Hehehe…" The tension from the battle slowly faded beneath the peaceful night sky.
