Jian Ci followed, his tone sly. "If it's just medicine, then what are you hiding?"
"You are too nosy," Yu Xi shot back, picking up his pace.
In a sudden move, Jian Ci lunged forward, grabbing Yu Xi's t-shirt and yanking him back against the wall.
"Let go," Yu Xi demanded, wriggling in his grip.
Jian Ci caught his wrists, pinning them. His voice dropped low, coaxing. "Little Xi, if you keep moving like that, you might start a fire you can't put out."
Yu Xi glared. "If you let go, then there will be no fire."
Jian Ci smiled, his canine teeth flashing like a dog begging for a treat. "Why not start the fire… so you can put it out?"
Yu Xi laughed in amusement, pushing him away before darting into his room.
Jian Ci followed, only to find the door locked. He rushed to his own room, trying the adjoining door but that too was locked.
Jian Ci: "…"
He stared at the handle, baffled. Since when did the adjoining door have a lock?
