Stuttgart, New Eden District
The night skyline shimmered like liquid glass.
Solar-threaded spires curved into the air, connected by shimmering magnetic bridges. Roads were silent, electric cars are the epitome of quiet.
Neon signs of Parker Industries, Stark Clean Energy and the Wakandan Embassy glowed over the cityscape. Humanity's future wrapped in light.
And yet, beneath that brilliance, chaos was blooming.
The Königliche Museum für Geschichte was alive with music and laughter. A gala celebrating "A New Age of Enlightenment."
Champagne sparkled. Cameras flashed. The world's elite toasted peace.
Then the lights flickered.
The music twisted with a scream.
Loki dressed in formal attire gouged out a man's eyes using a device. Meanwhile a bunch of operatives led by Barton unlocked a vault with an holographic iris and took away something silvery.
Loki clad in black and gold armor, his scepter gleaming with otherworldly malice. Stepped in front of a dazed crowd.
Screams erupted. Panic scattered like windblown leaves.
Loki smiled thinly, his voice carrying with supernatural clarity.
"Kneel."
No one moved.
He struck the ground with his scepter. The sound cracked like thunder.
"Kneel!"
The street froze and one by one, men and women fell to their knees.
All but one.
An old man in casual clothes stood tall, his gaze hard as steel.
His voice shook but his words did not.
"There are always men like you."
Loki turned slowly, eyes gleaming with contempt.
"There are no men like me."
" There are always men like you." Said the old man in defiance.
Loki chuckled raising his scepter toward the man's chest.
" Let the fate of your elder be a lesson for you all."
The scepter charged, blue light gathering at its tip.
And then something slammed into Loki's side with the force of a freight train.
He gasped, doubling over. Spider-Woman's armoured fist buried deep in his gut.
"God, you talk too much. That's something coming from me." She muttered out loud, landing lightly on the marble floor beside the stunned god, her armour gleaming in white, cyan blue and pink. "And your breath smells like ego."
Loki staggered back, clutching his stomach, disbelief flickering across his face as he stood up. "You dare strike..."
Gwen cut him off with a webline that snapped across his chest, pinning him to a marble column. "Oh, I dare, sparkle-horns."
The crowd watched, stunned, as she flicked the strands into a glowing blue pulse. Parker Industries' hybrid titanium, tungsten web polymer, incredibly hard to break.
Above, the air shimmered and the whine of approaching jets echoed through the night.
F-302s, sleek and black, streaked across the Stuttgart sky in formation, escorting a Quinjet.
Then came the repulsor roar. Iron Man landing beside Gwen, armor gleaming under the city lights.
"Miss Spider," Tony said dryly through his helmet. "I thought Fury told you to sit this one out."
Gwen grinned under her helmet. "And miss punching Rudolf the Reindeer's murderous cousin on the nose?"
Before Tony could reply, a voice boomed through the plaza.
"Stark. Stop him!"
Captain America's shield ricocheted from the edge of a car, striking Loki's scepter and sending it spinning across the marble. The god of mischief hit the ground hard.
Tony walked over, aiming his repulsors down. "Make a move, reindeer games. Please."
Loki looked up and he was smiling broadly, even in defeat. "You people think yourselves brave. You think you can contain gods."
Gwen crouched down beside him, her voice low. "No. We just don't care what you call yourself. Plus I hate your hair, so greasy."
She flicked her web-shooter once. Synthetic web silk sealing his mouth shut.
Moments Later – Rooftop Extraction Zone
The quinjet hovered over the plaza, its downwash scattering dust and broken glass.
Steve, Tony and Gwen escorted Loki aboard, his wrists bound in shimmering containment cuffs glowing made with Vibranium-S.
Tony muttered, "So, who gets to write the press release? 'Alien royal throws temper tantrum at art exhibit?'"
"Better idea," Gwen said. "Don't let Peter find out I broke his no acting on impulse rule."
Steve looked at her. "You weren't supposed to engage?"
She smirked. "Technically, I was sightseeing."
Above the Clouds
The quinjet sliced through the dark sky.
Loki sat quietly in his restraints, eyes distant, the faintest smirk curling his lips.
Steve leaned closer to Tony. "Something's bothering me. He gave up too easy."
Tony tilted his head. "You think he's playing possum?"
Steve frowned. "Feels like it."
Gwen crossed her arms, watching Loki's reflection in the glass. "He's waiting for something or someone."
As if to validate her words lightning split the sky.
A thunderclap boomed so loud it shook the jet.
The next flash revealed a dark figure descending from the storm. A blur of crimson cape and crackling lightning.
The pilot swore. "What the hell is that?"
Thor landed on the quinjet with a thud, the hull groaning under the impact.
Tony raised a brow. "You have got to be kidding me."
A heartbeat later, the cargo door hatch tore open.
Thor reached in, grabbed Loki by the collar and yanked him out into the storm.
Steve lunged. "Hey!"
But they were gone, swallowed by the rain and thunder.
Over the Mountains – Moments Later
The quinjet banked hard through the clouds, following the energy signature.
Tony glanced at Gwen. "You up for another round of god-punching?"
Gwen cracked her knuckles. "Always."
Steve frowned. "Try not to hit this one in the gut, okay?"
She smirked behind her mask. "No promises, Cap." Her Iron Spider Mk. III armour formed over her body and she jumped down.
" Did she take a parachute?" Asked Natasha.
" She doesn't need one." Said Tony as he put on his armour and jumped off.
" You should sit this one out Cap. They're basically gods." Adviced Natasha.
" I'll take my chances, Agent." Said Captain as he jumped off with a parachute.
