Swen moved forward, following the faint pulse of light within the crystal sphere in her hand.
As the path stretched on, her steps slowed. The glow inside the sphere was growing clearer.
At last, she stopped behind a cluster of large rocks.Leaning forward carefully, she spotted two silhouettes in the distance.
One was lying on the ground. The other stood beside him.
Swen raised the crystal slightly and reactivated the detection spell. The light inside the sphere pointed directly at the man on the ground.
Her eyes narrowed.
"Mikail's Spear… it's here."
Her voice was barely above a whisper.
She kept watching.
"But this makes no sense…"
Her brows furrowed.
"If that's the 'demon' they were talking about… his cultivation pressure is almost nonexistent."
She curled her lip slightly.
"Either the king lied… or the priest is an idiot… or both."
Her gaze drifted to the young man's face.
She paused.
"…Also."
She lowered the crystal slightly.
"Calling someone with a face like that a demon… is a fascinating display of judgment."
She let out a short breath through her nose.
Then she looked at the girl standing beside him.
There was something strange about them.A quiet stillness.
It felt less like a battlefield…and more like a forbidden meeting.
Swen glanced back at the crystal.
The light didn't lie.
"The spear is definitely inside him."
Her fingers traced the surface of the sphere.
"So they took it after the demon died… whatever. It's obvious they're not demons. Their cultivation isn't even close to what was described."
She straightened her shoulders and took a deep breath.
"If I ask nicely, they won't give it to me."
A brief pause.
"If I try to take it by force… I'll die."
She watched them for a moment longer.
Then a familiar, dangerous glint appeared in her eyes.
"That leaves only one logical option…"
She rotated the crystal slowly in her palm.
"I'll wait."
Her gaze lingered on the two figures.
"I'll take it when they fall asleep."
The corner of her lips curved slightly.
"Quietly."
She stepped back.
"Cleanly."
Then she muttered to herself:
"And hopefully… this plan is as smart as I think it is."
A brief pause.
"If I'm careful enough… this will be over by morning."
