Chapter 14 - Unspoken

Jeon-Woo peeked out through the window.

"Do they have any evidence?" he asked.

Suzy turned to Jeon-Woo. "Not a strong one... the statement is based on the murder spot," she replied.

"Suzy, go and help Manager Dong, family. I don't want them to get involved in it." Seo-Yeon ordered.

"But your safety..." Jeon-Woo interrupted, "She's in Jeon Empire. No one can touch her."

Seo-yeon rolled up her eyes and continued, "It's ok. Just arrange some guards."

Suzy was about to go but turned, "What about missing ledgers?" she asked.

"Fortunately, I met Manager Dong and reviewed all ledgers yesterday. So, I'll make a new one." Seo-yeon opened Kim's website.

Kim Mansion,

Ji Min and Yoo Han had to meet the wedding planner, so she went to his room. Ji Min knocked once, twice. No reply. She didn't get any response, so she strolled inside.

"Yoo-Han," she addressed politely.

There was no one. She turned, but the phone rang. Yoo Han's phone was on the side table. First, she decided not to check, but it kept ringing. She picked it up.

Caller ID: 'Luv'

Someone shouted from the other side,

"You cheater... You said that she's just a scared cat and dumb. Now you're getting married to her. What about me?"

The world seemed to stop. Her love, expectations, dreams, emotions, everything vanished in thin air in the room. It wasn't just words but a sharp knife tearing apart her heart. She always knew that Yoo Han didn't love her, but she never imagined she had to hear it, not like this.

"Baby...baby Yoo,"

"JiMin." Yoo Han stepped inside the room.

Startled, Ji Min dropped the phone. It crushed into pieces like Ji Min's heart. She looked at it for a moment... and panicked.

"So... sorry, Yoo Han." She bent down and collected the pieces. "I didn't mean..."

Yoo Han's hurriedly grabbed her hands.

"It's ok. Broken things cut yourself."

A tear escaped; 'broken thing' isn't that what she is right now. Ji Min slowly pulled her hand back and left.

At evening,

News channels were broadcasting live.

"Mr. Woo is finally here."

"What?" Seo-yeon didn't realize when Jeon-woo slipped out of the room.

"It's already chaos enough. Why is he out there?" She grabbed her head in frustration.

"Mr. Woo, your manager is killed by Kim's Manager. What do you say about it?" A female reporter asked.

"It's rumours. Manager Jaemin is a suicide case." Murmurs erupted among the reporters. Camera flashes exploded across the entrance. Even Seo-Yeon looked surprised by his answer.

"Are you saying this just to save Aroura Complex? Otherwise, what about missing ledgers?" The reporter asked again.

Jeon-Woo looked at the camera, "Nothing went missing. Kim's have their ledgers." He paused and smirked, "If you wanna see, they can surely show you."

After a moment, Jeon-Woo was about to enter the office, witnessing glazing eyes that were ready to strike.

"Happy now...Who told you to be a hero?" Seo-Yeon burst on him. Jeon-Woo slowly turned to run away, but Seo-Yeon pulled him inside by grabbing her shoulder.

"I...I just helped you." Jeon-Woo protested.

Seo-Yeon shut her eyes and rested her head on the chair. Lamp-light reflected on the window and fell on her face, glowing it up. Jeon-Woo wasn't able to shift his gaze. He didn't want to look, but his eyes refused.

Fierce jinx looked like a small bear cub. Innocent, soft, and squishy. Unintentionally, Jeon-Woo's steps moved towards her. His gaze settled on the wrinkle between her brows. He paused. Than slowly moved his hand towards her face...

His hand stopped halfway. What was he doing? Why did seeing her tired bother him so much? but was caught off guard.

Seo-Yeon quickly opened her eyes and twisted his arm.

"What are you doing?" Jeon-Woo yanked his arm,

"Noth... nothing. Focus on the ledgers that you have to show them tomorrow," he said and strolled outside.

Seo-Yeon sighed and continued her work. But ...but Jeon-Woo was leaning on the door, grabbing his chest.

"What was that? Why do I keep helping her?"

Meanwhile, Suzy was about to reach Anyang (where the Manager Dong family lives) when a black Audi got her attention in the rearview mirror. It was following her from the city.

Her right foot pressed the clutch. The engine roared, lights turning green. 120 km/h, and she vanished.

The black Audi couldn't follow her and stopped. As the window slid down, Suzy's gun pointed at the driver's temple.

"Why are you following me?"

Her voice was cold. The gun didn't move, not an inch.

The driver slowly removed the mask. "Your love dragged me here." A playful wink, and Suzy was shocked.

"You!"
