Lucien's POV
"And what trick is that?" Lila asked, confusion etched on her face.
"Well," I said, "there's only one person who can reveal it for sure—the King."
"You're crazy, Lucien!" she snapped immediatelyshe heard that, pushing me slightly.
"You want to use the same King who knows our identity to prove your… your silly theory?"
"It's the only way to prove what I'm saying, Lila," I said firmly. "And I know you won't go along with our new plans unless you believe me."
"Besides," I continued, "I don't think the King would do anything right now. He said he wants to observe us, remember?"
"Yes, and he's doing that to figure out our plans!" she shot back. "If you use him to learn more about the artifact or whose power it holds, he'll know exactly what we're up to."
"That's not true," I said, frustrated. "The King already knows why we're here. He knows we're after the artifact."
"You said he's just speculating," Lila argued. "He hasn't confirmed anything yet!"
