Everyone was lost in thought.
At the door, a young man and woman, holding hands and carrying gift boxes, approached.
The man was well-dressed in a beige suit, and the woman, though modestly charming, wore a light beige dress of the same color, shivering slightly in the cold wind with her shoulders exposed.
The man, however, was fully focused in the direction of Mrs. Nalan, and was busy nodding and greeting guests, completely oblivious to his companion's shivering. The thought of taking off his jacket to put over her never even crossed his mind.
As the young couple drew closer, a relative frowned:
"Lan Yingjun? A distant relative from an obscure branch, is he even qualified to attend Mrs. Nalan's birthday celebration? What's going on with the butler? Seems like any Tom, Dick, or Harry can get in now."
Some quietly explained: "Maybe it's for that Qin Wenrou's sake. She's Qin Xin's younger sister. Lan Yingjun is Qin Wenrou's boyfriend, so he has some connection to Mr. Nalan."
