Almost at the same time Pei Lin attempted suicide by poisoning, on the Dongzhou expressway, a truck driving illegally collided with a black Maybach.
The damage to both vehicles wasn't severe, but during the collision, steel pipes loaded on the truck scattered and flew out. One of the pipes, due to inertia, flew towards the Maybach, pierced through the front windshield, and shot into the driver's left chest, penetrating his thoracic cavity, nailing him to the seat.
The other female passenger in the car was not seriously injured, only sustaining some superficial injuries.
Firefighters and emergency rescue personnel arrived on the scene promptly to rescue those inside the car.
Despite the gruesome situation, the woman remained calm and immediately called for help.
As the rescue began, the site leader received instructions from the city leaders to spare no effort in rescuing the trapped individuals.
