Haejin was quiet for a moment.
The van was still moving, Tokyo lights running past the windows, and he was just sitting there thinking about it like the question actually deserved a real answer.
"Somewhere quiet," he said finally. "Just the two of us. A street with no schedule. Somewhere I can walk beside you and not think about anything else for a few hours. Possibly Daikanyamacho."
The van went quiet.
Not the Doyun quiet. Not the someone is about to say something quiet.
Just quiet.
Soorin kept her eyes on her notes app but she had stopped typing.
She felt it, the weight of what he had just said sitting in the middle of the van like it was simply true and he had not thought twice about saying it.
She did not say anything.
Nobody said anything for a moment.
Then Doyun cleared his throat.
"So," he said. "Just to be clear."
