Chapter 264 - Chapter 264: The Mutation of the Douluo Continent

Chapter 264: The Mutation of the Douluo Continent

Just as Tang San's divine sense faded from the Haotian Sect, subtle ripples swept through the clouds above the God Realm.

The moment he returned, he withdrew his divine aura completely, letting his power smooth out the spatial turbulence he had created.

Xiao Wu, noticing the heaviness in his expression, hurried to his side and grasped his arm. "San-ge, did something happen?"

Tang San shook his head and lifted a finger. A wisp of golden light shimmered at his fingertip, within which the image of the Douluo Continent appeared—the very moment when the Eternal Day Burning Heaven Phoenix soul spirit had released its aura.

"The Star Auction Pavilion is not simple," he said darkly. "They've managed to revive a soul beast from the era of the Dragon God."

He paused, his gaze turning cold. "The Eternal Day Burning Heaven Phoenix is barely mentioned in even the most ancient divine scriptures. It's said that even the Dragon God feared this species deeply."

"If not for the fact that the heavens themselves restricted their reproduction due to their overwhelming power, such a soul beast might still dominate the world to this day."

Tang San then reassured Xiao Wu that Dong'er was safe, easing some of her tension.

However, upon hearing about the newly discovered concept of soul spirits, Xiao Wu could not hide her unease—and a faint sense of sorrow stirred in her heart.

If soul spirits had existed in their era, perhaps her mother would never have died at the hands of human hunters.

She quickly gathered her thoughts. This age was no longer the Douluo Continent they once knew. Everything had been transformed beyond imagination.

Then, as though struck by a sudden thought, Xiao Wu's eyes widened. "So these soul spirits they created…"

"Not created—revived," Tang San interrupted.

From what Titan and Niu Tian had said, the methods of the Star Auction Pavilion seemed like creating something from nothing—but to him, it was far from that simple.

Tang San still remembered countless records from the God Realm. Beasts as old as the Eternal Day Burning Heaven Phoenix could not simply be created out of thin air.

It meant only one thing: the Star Auction Pavilion possessed the power to resurrect every soul beast that had ever lived on the Douluo Continent—extinct or otherwise.

No matter the species, they could bring it back.

"This is a technique that breaches the laws of reincarnation and time itself," Tang San muttered, frowning. "I truly can't imagine how the Star Auction Pavilion managed it."

His eyes flashed with shock and realization. A bold idea was forming in his mind—one that made disturbing sense.

Before he could voice it, a cold snort resounded across the heavens.

A blazing flash of gold split the sky. The God of Destruction stepped forth, the Goddess of Life following by his side.

"Tang San, you violated heavenly decree by descending to the mortal world. Have you forgotten that you're under punishment? Without consent from the God Kings, you dared to act on your own—are you ready to face the consequences?"

"Or do you wish to bring another disaster upon the God Realm like before?"

Surrounded by swirling purple-black aura, the God of Destruction's gaze cut sharper than a blade. "We just secured the Golden Dragon King's seal, and already you're stirring unrest?"

Tang San's face remained calm as he waved aside the golden projection. "I merely sought to confirm the safety of the lower realm. The Douluo Continent remains my foundation."

His tone was mild yet carried irrefutable authority. "The real question, Destruction, is why you spend more time shadowing me than guarding that seal—what is it you don't want me to discover?"

In truth, even Tang San himself was unsettled.

He had concealed his divine sense meticulously and verified that no detection mechanisms lingered nearby. Only then did he dare to descend.

What he did not know was that the surrounding Sea God Palace, along with the entire God Realm, had been layered with divine formations by the other God Kings.

They had even left monitoring seals tied to the Douluo Continent itself.

The instant Tang San descended, they had sensed it.

But because they were busy reinforcing the Golden Dragon King's seal, they had let him act undisturbed.

The God of Destruction's face darkened, ready to retort, but the Goddess of Life stepped forward gently.

"Enough. The God Realm has only just regained stability; internal conflict will serve no one."

Her eyes turned to Tang San, calm but probing. "What you found—the Eternal Day Burning Heaven Phoenix—is indeed cause for concern. Its bloodline harbors both Light and Destruction, identical to the creature once called the Calamity of Radiance."

Tang San's heart stirred. "You know of its lineage?"

"I've heard fragments," she replied softly. Extending her finger, she traced luminous green symbols across the air, forming a glowing sigil of ancient origin.

"During the era of the Dragon God, the Phoenix race symbolized life and fire. But some of them absorbed too much destructive energy… and fell into corruption."

"The Eternal Day Burning Heaven Phoenix, the supreme among their kind, mastered both light and destruction. Eventually, the Dragon God himself struck it down and sealed it away."

She paused, meeting Tang San's eyes. "Tell me—why do you think the Star Auction Pavilion would resurrect such a forbidden creature?"

Tang San fell silent. Then a thought flashed in his mind—Gu Yuena.

The Silver Dragon King held dominion over elemental power. If she were to obtain the bloodline of the Eternal Day Burning Heaven Phoenix…

The consequences would be unimaginable.

The soul spirit he had seen was incomplete—it should not have contained the creature's full bloodline power.

But if the Star Auction Pavilion could produce such an entity, it might not be long before they could resurrect the beast in its entirety.

And should that happen, the God Realm would face catastrophe.

The Eternal Day Burning Heaven Phoenix was no ordinary creature; even without witnessing it, Tang San could feel its magnitude through the ancient scriptures—strong enough to terrify gods.

"Boom… Boom…"

A deep tremor suddenly shook the core of the God Realm.

All expressions changed as Tang San and the others vanished instantly, reappearing near the divine central nexus.

There, the star representing the Douluo Continent flared with intense red light. Within the glow, countless soul beast phantoms could be seen roaring in frenzy.

The vast energy radiating outward set the entire realm trembling.

This phenomenon could only mean one thing—something had happened on the Douluo Continent with enough impact to shake the heavens themselves.

Ordinarily, the mortal world could not possibly affect the operations of the God Realm.

But now, there was only one explanation: the very essence of the Douluo plane was being disrupted.

"It's the Star Dou Forest!"

Tang San's eyes widened. His divine sense shot toward the lower world—but was blocked mid-path by a power even stronger than his own.

"Someone is forcibly extracting the Douluo Continent's source energy!"

As soon as he spoke, both the God of Destruction and the Goddess of Life cast out their own senses toward the mortal plane.

Moments later, the long-delayed God Kings of Kindness and Evil arrived, sparing Tang San a brief, piercing glance before turning their attention toward the scene below.
