Chapter 75 - Chapter 9: Heavenly Palace

Spamming a few [Secret Arts], the Blood Projection soon found the trail left behind by his son's soul body.

"Truu, hold on…" Impatiently, the Blood Projection began following the residual aura.

However, a week later, he ended up back at the same place.

"Whoever is behind this planned it all." The Blood Projection tried everything to find his son — from peeking into the past to tracing his location through [Secret Arts].

But everything failed; it was as if his son didn't exist.

After another month of searching, the Blood Projection couldn't find any trace of Truu's soul anywhere.

"If only the true soul were here." With regret, the Blood Projection dispelled itself to inform the real body of the situation.

"Truu, what kind of trouble have you gotten yourself into?" Not receiving any news for over a month, Grandmaster Ruu knew the situation wasn't good.

Out of nowhere, new information appeared in Grandmaster Ruu's mind. Knowing all the details, he felt helpless; his son could very well be dead.

"I swear on the name of His Majesty… Right, His Majesty should be able to help."

Just as Grandmaster Ruu was about to swear to slaughter the one responsible for his son's disappearance, he remembered His Majesty once mentioning the establishment of the Underworld.

Perhaps he could find Truu's soul there.

Without wasting a second, Grandmaster Ruu immediately headed to the headquarters of the Soul Palace on Planet Rucant.

"Welcome, Teacher Ruu."

Upon his arrival, Grandmaster Ruu was greeted by the young Palace Master.

"Wis, I didn't know you were here."

Seeing that the one who greeted him was Wis, Grandmaster Ruu was slightly surprised.

Like him, Wis was an abnormality born from the mutation of a Planet Will. In a sense, he could be called the Soul of a Planet.

He had already undergone the Third Soul Transformation and was slowly making his way toward the end of the Soul Path.

In an era at most, he would likely become a Saint like Grandmaster Ruu, wielding the power of multiple paths.

"Teacher, did you forget? The Recruitment Ceremony is currently underway."

Wis looked at his teacher, surprised by how much had changed in just two thousand years.

Two thousand years ago, like any other Elder of the Soul Palace, Grandmaster Ruu had stood at the pinnacle of the Soul Path and was renowned throughout the Verse for his Alchemy skills.

However, out of nowhere, he went on a trip to the Arcane Verse, and eight hundred years later, he became a Saint!

There are many Elders at the Soul Palace who have far more experience Grandmaster Ruu and have spent countless years trying to dive into another path. Yet, they cannot find a way to balance the power within them.

In current times, becoming a Saint was seen as an impossible task.

As all old Saints became Saints during the early days of the Verse, when the Creator frequently blessed them with treasures.

Unfortunately, for eons, the Creator has not blessed anyone.

But this all changed when His Majesty arrived.

Like the Creator of their Verse, his Majesty is also a Heavenly Lord, and ever since his arrival, people have been becoming Saints left and right.

Wis, like his teacher, wishes to obtain the favor of His Majesty and become a Saint.

Unfortunately, even after trying every trick in his book, he has been unable to attract His Majesty's attention.

"Oh, so the Recruitment Ceremony is happening." Hearing the words Recruitment Ceremony brought back hidden memories, and Grandmaster Ruu's eyes filled with emotion.

"…Wis, can you prepare the teleportation formation for the Heavenly Palace? I need to report something to His Majesty…" Grandmaster Ruu's voice sounded slightly unnatural.

"For unknown reasons, we can't access the formation inside the Heavenly Palace. However, Teacher, you can go there directly. Currently, the Heavenly Palace is only a few light-years away." Knowing that Grandmaster Ruu was heading to the Heavenly Palace, Wis wanted to beg him to take him along.

However, to maintain his carefully crafted image, he held himself back.

"Oh, it's just over there." Hearing Wis's words, Grandmaster Ruu took out a strange compass and found that the Heavenly Palace really was just three light-years away from his current location.

Without wasting a single moment, Grandmaster Ruu leaped out of the world.

"Tha… that was the Heaven Compass!" Ignoring the wind slapping his face, Wis cried out in excitement.

Since the Heavenly Palace isn't located on any planet and wanders the Verse, the only way to reach it is through a teleportation formation.

However, each person must be approved by the Heavenly Guard to be allowed into the Palace. Wis had tried countless times, but the reply he always received was that His Majesty was resting.

Another method of entering the Heavenly Palace is by having the Heaven Compass.

Not only can it locate the Heavenly Palace, but it also serves as a pass to have an audience with His Majesty.

After the creation of the Heavenly Palace, only 100 such Compasses were made by His Majesty and then scattered throughout the Verse for the lucky ones to find.

Wis didn't know that his teacher would have one.

"I should ask the teacher to lend it to me for a few days." Wis was dying to borrow the Heaven Compass and visit the Heavenly Palace.

Leaving Planet Rucant, Grandmaster Ruu let his soul breathe and headed toward the location of the Heavenly Palace.

After almost three years of journeying through endless space, Grandmaster Ruu came across a horde of battleships.

As he stopped to check what was going on, thousands of particle beams were fired at him.

"What are these humans thinking?" Checking the battleships, Grandmaster Ruu saw that they were filled with humans.

As he was wondering, thousands of mecha, like a swarm of bees, emerged from the battleships and started attacking him.

Soon, mecha attacked him with swords, spears, guns, and many more weapons, but no matter how well a mecha was built or how much energy it utilized, they were only able to scratch the surface.

"Are they being controlled? No, that doesn't seem to be the case… then what's wrong?"
