Two more crows flew over, and after landing, transformed back into human form; it was Malfurion and Fandral Staghelm.
Malfurion looked at Gale in shock; after a thousand years, Gale had actually broken through the limits of mortals!
According to his calculations, both he and Gale were mortals. Although they had gained long lives, as long as they didn't break the mortal limit, he would eventually catch up to Gale. By then, the only difference between him and Gale would be the difference in artifacts. Artifacts were external objects after all; he just needed to collect more, and he had plenty of time with his long life.
However, before he even reached the mortal limit, Gale had already broken through it.
This... Malfurion suddenly felt a sense of 'why was I born if he was also born?'
Fandral Staghelm, however, looked at Gale with sparkling eyes. In his eyes, Gale was as dazzling as the sun. He seemed to see nothing else in the world but Gale.
Just as Fandral Staghelm was about to lose his composure, Gale asked, "Have you found the source of the Nightmare Power?"
"Nightmare Power?" Malfurion paused, "That's a fitting name. Those black energies are indeed like a nightmare, eroding the Emerald Dream."
Aviana's expression changed drastically. "Are you sure this is Nightmare Power?"
Fandral Staghelm asked, puzzled, "What is Nightmare Power?"
Gale: "The Old God NZoth, known as the God of Nightmares, and Nightmare Power is his dark energy."
NZoth???
Malfurion looked at Gale in horror. "Are you certain?"
Gale shrugged, and Aviana nodded, saying, "That's right, Nightmare Power is indeed NZoth's dark energy. He can manipulate dreams and is the greatest enemy of the Emerald Dream."
Fandral Staghelm was dumbfounded, as if he had just heard some incredible secret.
Malfurion pondered for a moment. "It seems we really need to seek the help of the Green Dragons."
Fandral Staghelm: "Why haven't the Green Dragons arrived yet?"
Aviana also wondered, "Perhaps they were held up by something."
Gale said indifferently, "The most important thing now is to find the source of the Nightmare Power. Only then can I completely solve the problem of the Nightmare Power invasion."
Eileen suggested, "I just fought the Nightmare Power for a while. Based on their spread, the source should be in the central part of this grassland."
Fandral Staghelm: "I agree with that inference. However, I suspect the source might not be directly entering the Emerald Dream. I suspect there's a problem in the real world."
Upon hearing this, Gale immediately summoned the Rainbow Bridge and drew a magic map of the Emerald Dream. Once the map was complete, Gale discovered that this was the southeastern part of the Eastern Continent, within the jurisdiction of Stormwind City and the Trolls.
He said, "I will notify the real world and have Nordrassil send people to find the anomalous location."
Aviana nodded, "We will continue searching in the Emerald Dream."
Gale walked over to Eileen and Yī Nǔ Tè, summoned the Rainbow Bridge, and teleported back to Sky City, then through a portal to Stormwind City.
Nordrassil was very happy to see Gale and the two others. "Father King, why do you have time to visit me?"
"We have important matters this time."
After some pleasantries, Gale went straight to the point: "The Emerald Dream is being invaded by Nightmare Power. We suspect NZoth has found a corresponding point in the real world. Based on the invasion location, the real-world corresponding point is within Stormwind City's jurisdiction."
"During this time, have there been any anomalies in the southern Redridge Mountains?" Eileen asked.
"No anomalies were found anywhere!" Nordrassil summoned a magic map of the area south of the Redridge Mountains and pointed near Stormwind City, saying, "From Stillwater Lake to Stranglethorn Vale, except for some parts still held by the Trolls, it's all Stormwind City's sphere of influence. If there were any anomalies in this area, I would definitely know. Kaldorei Mages are very vigilant about anomalous energies, as you know, Father King."
Gale nodded. After the popularization of the meridian promotion method, Kaldorei Mages could become Archmages after only a few hundred years of cultivation. The pioneering nobles who followed Nordrassil to Stormwind City would at least send an Archmage to oversee. Their Mage Towers were already spread around Stormwind City. If there truly were anomalous energy fluctuations, it would definitely attract the attention of these Archmages.
The invasion of Nightmare Power was not formed in a day or two, and the resulting fluctuations had lasted for a long time. Unless the Archmage who discovered the fluctuations had betrayed the Kaldorei Empire, it would definitely be reported immediately.
Gale looked to the east of the Stillwater Lake to Stranglethorn Vale line. Swamp of Sorrows, Black Morass, and Deadwind Pass were all vast and sparsely populated places in the world of warcraft, containing strange and bizarre things.
Swamp of Sorrows had the Temple of Atal'Hakkar, Black Morass had the Dark Portal, and Deadwind Pass had Karazhan, all important places recorded in the history of world of warcraft.
Deadwind Pass was temporarily ruled out. It was very close to Sunshine Forest. Although the terrain was treacherous, it was not uninhabited. Plus, its unique topography meant that from the mountain tops on either side, most of Deadwind Pass could be overlooked. Invading the Emerald Dream from there would be easily discovered.
So, it could only be Swamp of Sorrows and Black Morass. If it wasn't these two places either, then it could only be in the ocean to the east.
"Eileen, gather the flying forces and conduct a search of these two swamps."
"Yes!"
Eileen immediately returned to Sky City to gather the flying forces. Soon, groups of Hippogryphs, Storm Dragons, and Proto-Dragons flew out of the portal, and under the control of their riders, flew eastward.
Nordrassil said, "Father King, I'll go help too."
Gale did not stop him. In any case, that area was under Nordrassil's jurisdiction, so it was appropriate for him to go along. He was also a little worried that the entity creating the Nightmare Power might cause losses to the flying forces, and Nordrassil going along could save many Kaldorei lives.
"I'll go take a look too!"
Eileen pulled Yī Nǔ Tè, transformed into crows, and followed.
Nordrassil, relying on the Stormbreaker, flew to the front of the flying forces, leading the way for them.
Following the Elwynn River and crossing a mountain, they reached Swamp of Sorrows. Swamp of Sorrows was shrouded in mist, forcing Nordrassil to lower his altitude.
Fortunately, there were enough flying forces. They spread out to search, quickly forming a line, sweeping the swamp from south to north. Three days later, the flying forces arrived at the eastern part of the swamp and saw a huge temple not far ahead.
Around the temple, a group of Naga were busy. They were constructing buildings near the temple.
Nordrassil didn't know much about the Naga. "There's something wrong with this temple. This is a swamp."
The flying forces immediately notified Eileen. Eileen and Yī Nǔ Tè rushed over and immediately noticed something different. "It should be here. Father King said that the Naga are monsters created by NZoth."
"Notify Father King!"
Nordrassil took out a beacon crystal. Just as he was about to activate it, a black ray shot from the temple ahead.
