Chapter 227 - Everything in life is just hypocrisy.

Kim's mother was still standing beside the car…

Her face was pale.

Her eyes couldn't comprehend what had just happened.

The explosion…

The truck…

Then the sudden survival.

Everything happened in a moment.

Kim approached her calmly.

He placed his hand on her shoulder.

And said in a low voice:

"Are you alright… Mom?"

Her voice trembled slightly as she replied:

"Yes…"

Then she looked at him quickly.

"We survived…"

"What matters is that you're safe, my son."

Kim's expression suddenly changed.

He said in a calm, cold tone:

"Kim."

She stopped.

"My name is Kim."

Then he added without looking at her:

"Don't call me 'son' again."

"Understood… Leona?"

Her eyes widened.

She stepped back.

"Kim…?"

"Who is Leona?"

But Kim gave a small, cold smile.

And said:

"It's you."

"You liar."

Then he turned around.

And continued walking.

But after a few steps…

He stopped.

Without turning back, he said:

"There's one thing I don't understand."

"Why would you place a demon beside me…"

"When you know exactly who she is."

"Or is this some kind of mockery?"

"You… and her."

At that moment…

People were running toward the accident.

Firefighters.

Screams.

Chaos.

But Kim didn't care.

He left the place.

And walked away.

---

A short while later…

He stood in front of an old house.

He stepped forward.

Knocked on the door.

The door opened slowly.

This time…

His father was the one who opened it.

He looked at him for a moment.

Then smiled.

"Welcome."

"Did you miss me?"

Kim stared at him for a long moment.

He remembered his old words.

"When I return… I'll be a better father."

Suddenly he stepped forward.

And hugged him tightly.

The father froze for a moment.

Then said in surprise:

"Looks like today was a long day for you."

Then he opened the door wider.

"Come inside."

---

Kim sat on the couch.

Silent.

Then suddenly he said:

"Father."

The man looked at him.

"Today… my mother…"

He paused for a moment.

"…looked like she wanted to disappear."

Then he said slowly:

"And I feel like Mary isn't human."

His father smiled slightly.

"Really?"

"Did you see something?"

Kim replied:

"No."

Then he raised his eyes.

"I don't need to see."

Then he added calmly:

"Because I'm not human either."

The man's expression froze.

But Kim continued:

"You're a demon."

"And your real name… is Azrael."

"And I'm not your son."

A heavy silence filled the room.

Long seconds passed.

Then—

Black chains burst from the void.

They wrapped around Kim's body.

Binding him completely.

The man's expression changed.

His voice became sharper.

"Who are you?"

Kim looked at him.

Then laughed.

A small laugh…

Without hope.

"I didn't know who I was."

Then he raised his head.

His smile widened slightly.

"But now…"

He said slowly:

"…I'm just ashes in the hands of fate."

"Searching for myself in the fire of pain…"

"That burned everything."

Azrael kept staring at him.

Then he said calmly:

"If you describe yourself as ashes…"

"Then you must have gone through a lot."

The chains suddenly vanished.

Kim was free again.

He looked at him directly.

"Do you trust me now?"

Azrael laughed sarcastically.

"Trust you?"

"If I trusted you…"

"I wouldn't have chained you in the first place."

Then he looked into his eyes.

"But…"

"Your eyes seem to say something different."

"Not what your words say."

Kim laughed lightly.

And said:

"If eyes always told the truth…"

"The world would have understood me long ago."

Then he raised his head.

And activated his skill.

Crimson Eyes.

His eyes glowed red.

He said calmly:

"Blood Archive."

Suddenly—

Azrael felt something strange.

As if something was being pulled from him.

Not his blood.

But…

His essence.

Threads of dark energy gathered in Kim's hand.

The system window appeared.

Bloodline analysis complete.

Compatibility success.

Do you want to summon the incarnation now?

Or store it?

Kim's eyes widened slightly.

"There's an option to store it?"

He smiled.

"Good."

Then he pressed:

Store.

The energy disappeared into his crimson eye.

But Azrael kept staring at him with hidden shock.

Then he said in a very low voice:

"This…"

"…isn't just blood analysis."

His eyes narrowed slightly.

"Where did you get those eyes… Kim?"

But the real question…

Wasn't about the eyes.

It was about what Azrael had just realized.

The skill Kim used…

Was capable of summoning the strongest demon in his bloodline.

And he knew very well…

Who that demon was.

And if Kim ever summoned him one day…

It wouldn't be just a fight.

It would be…

A catastrophe.
