The barren lands outside the City of Dawn were silent now.
Burn marks stretched across the earth.
Huge craters covered the battlefield.
The remains of storms still drifted through the sky.
Eryndor floated above the destruction for a few seconds longer.
Then—
his Storm Elemental Embodiment slowly deactivated.
The dark energy faded from around him.
The Black Sun above the city disappeared.
The skies gradually cleared.
Clouds parted.
The real sun returned overhead once again.
Warm light touched the ruined city.
Wind moved naturally again.
Eryndor exhaled slowly.
"That's what I can do for now…"
"To experience it fully I have to master my full authority."
Then he pushed himself through the air and flew back toward the front of the city.
Near the entrance of the City of Dawn—
Darius, Kaelus, Rein, Stellar, Alucard, Tina, Dova and Isly were already gathered together.
Some civilians cautiously stared from a distance.
Others were helping each other rebuild damaged homes.
Eryndor landed in front of the group.
"How's it going guys?"
Kaelus rested Tempest across his shoulders and smirked.
"A lot faster than I expected."
Rein cracked his neck.
"Yea he's got the pressure of a high god though he's not one."
Eryndor nodded slightly.
"He used basic void magic and symbolic curse magic."
Nearby—
Stellar was crouched down speaking to a little girl.
The girl looked thin and dirty from living in the city's conditions.
Stellar placed a pouch of gold in her hands.
"Go and take care of yourself and your family little one."
The girl's eyes widened.
"Thank you aunty."
Stellar smiled softly.
Behind her, frost lightly drifted from her breath.
Dova stepped forward and looked toward the citizens gathering around them.
"People of this city…"
"You are now free to do whatever you want and live in peace and harmony."
"The city lord is no longer alive."
"And the nobles are idiots they only know to flaunt but now that you have money go and live your lives."
For a moment—
the crowd stayed silent.
Then voices started rising.
"Thank you!"
"You saved us!"
"We're finally free!"
Some cried.
Others bowed repeatedly.
Several families held each other tightly.
The atmosphere of the city itself felt lighter now.
Alucard smiled.
Isly rested her staff against her shoulder while watching the people.
Tina crossed her arms with a satisfied look.
Rein grinned.
Kaelus chuckled quietly.
Darius smirked.
And Eryndor simply watched silently.
Then—
an old man slowly approached from deeper within the city.
He walked carefully using a wooden cane.
His clothes were worn from age.
The old man stopped in front of Stellar.
"Here young one…"
"Take care of it…"
"I don't have anything else."
Stellar blinked slightly.
"Thank you."
She accepted the object.
It was an old map.
The edges were worn.
But the contents were still clear.
Stellar unfolded it slowly.
Everyone gathered around her.
The map showed the continents of Planet Nohr.
Oaklands.
Golden Grove.
Antarta.
The Moon Eclipse.
The Land of Beasts.
Camoon.
The Starlight Continent.
Shadow Lands—
where the sun never shines.
The Land of the Sun People.
Nimuru—
the Nasarik territory and home to Eryndor.
Kans—
territory of Aldric Vaelith, Eryndor's father in this world.
And many other territories spread across the world.
Stellar looked carefully at the map.
"We're in the City of Dawn right now."
Her finger slowly moved northeast across the map.
Then stopped.
"The Land of the Sun People…"
The group looked toward the northeast instinctively.
Far beyond the horizon.
Far beyond forests and oceans.
Their next destination.
The place Headmistress Seraphina told them about.
The place where ascension truly began.
Kaelus smiled slightly.
"So this is where things really start huh?"
Rein cracked his knuckles.
"Finally."
Darius folded his arms.
"I wanna see what kind of monsters are over there."
Alucard laughed.
"Things are finally getting interesting."
Isly stared toward the northeast calmly.
Tina adjusted her gloves.
Dova exhaled quietly.
Stellar folded the map carefully.
Then Eryndor stepped forward.
"Let's move."
The group nodded.
Then together—
Eryndor, Kaelus, Rein, Darius, Stellar, Alucard, Tina, Dova and Isly walked out of the City of Dawn.
Toward the northeast.
Toward the Land of the Sun People.
